Getting Specific — & Sharing My Food Blog! 😱

In the last seven days, I will have been on four different airplanes. Yep. Two trips between Ohio and NYC. Three shoots. One important audition. And all in the same week.

Back about, ten months ago, when my mom had her stroke, I became quite the prayer aficionado. My prayer life was on fire. Admittedly, not so ablaze now, but back then, I had drawn so close to God. Because really, that was the only place I had to turn. I was scared, angry, anxious, exhausted, emotionally depleted, and boy did I let Him have it.

At the top of my prayer list was obviously, my mom’s stroke recovery, and my family. But there was also something else, that selfishly, I was praying for.

An oddly specific request.

I prayed that I would be able to find a way to build a life that would allow me to live in both NYC and Ohio.

And sitting on that fourth plane this week, I realized that God, had listened. To the “T.” He had answered my specific prayer.

Now, whether or not I’m supposed to live in limbo like this forever is another story, but at least for now, it’s coming to fruition. And I trust that God is going to direct my path going forward.

But the point is, I got specific.

I mean, honestly, I felt a little high maintenance and demanding praying for such a specific personal thing, but I figured, God could handle it. And He could do with it what He wanted.

But I asked. Specifically.

Ever since I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, and have had to adopt a strict gluten/grain free diet to stay in remission, I’ve definitely had to learn how to ask for what I want. Going to restaurants with a laundry list of dietary restrictions has caused me to really master the art of specificity.

Hold the rice and extra avocado. No tortilla, sub fresh tomatoes.

You don’t get what you don’t ask for.

And coming on my sixth anniversary of my therapeutic way of eating, I guess my knack for giving specific direction has seeped into my prayer life.

I’m realizing now, that God loves to give us what we want. Sure, not always, but like any good father, He likes to delight us. He like to give His children good gifts.

So I guess this is me saying, thank you, and also challenging myself and you to really get specific. No more of the general intercessions that I am so guilty of uttering without even much hutzpah behind it…God bless mama, and papa and brother and blah blah blah. How do I want Him to bless these people? Specifically? God’s creative, but every good director likes to also hear the ideas of his actors, and take their vision into consideration.

So speak up.

And one last thing. That’s kind of exciting.

I’ve really been praying about what to do about this blog. This safe little space that’s become my cozy little corner of the internet. And I’ve realized that it’s gotten a little. too. comfortable.

giphy.gif

So it’s time to shake things up.

So consider this a truth bomb:

I think I have mentioned before, but during my Ulcerative Colitis flare, I was on bedrest for an entire year.

After my body rejected every medication, I adopted a therapeutic way of eating that healed my body of the disease. During which, I started a recipe blog, documenting my 250 original therapeutic recipes, which ended up becoming a cookbook. And during its heyday, that blog was getting around 30,000 hits a month. But I’ve never shared it on here because, well, who I am is all over that thing.

img_7758

But I’ve decided to share it now

I’ve honestly wanted to for a long time, because that year, cooking for myself, and learning how to eat was so pivotal in my recovery -not just from my ulcerative colitis – but perhaps most importantly, from the lingering traces of my anorexia. In the couple years after inpatient, my relationship with food was never normal. I was either restricting and bingeing, or only eating one meal a day, or killing my body with olympic-caliber workouts. It was not good.

But all that changed when I had to give up exercise cold turkey on bedrest, and truly began eating three meals a day.
And so why wouldn’t I share specifically what helped me kick my eating disorder out of my life once and for all?

Specifics, right?

So starting next week, I’m going be adding a third publishing day to the schedule. Right now it’s Monday/Thursday nights. Which will stay exactly as is.

But now, Wednesday will become “Whip It Up Wednesday” or perhaps “What I Ate Wednesday” (I’m still working on the name, and am open to suggestions!) where I will share one of my recipes that you see me post on Instagram all the time.

And I hope you’re as excited as I am.

And if you’re really curious, you can check out my other site or cookbook too 🙂 haha

Alright people. Here’s to a specific week!

AND one other thing. As I mentioned, my prayer life has taken a hit lately. I don’t know if it’s the busyness, or the unsettled feeling in my heart, but I’ve decided that it’s time I make a change. So also starting next week, I’m going to begin a new segment on Patreon where every day, I’m going to highlight a bible verse and share a reflection on it. So if your prayer life could use a little fire under its keister, then I invite you to join me over there too. 🙂

OK folks. That’s it from me. Time to go unpack!

  1. A whole year. 😟 I would have hung out with you. I used to break up my breaks and lunches to hang out with the terminal patients. Yeah. You have a lot going on. That’s good.

      • 🌞🌻Maybe that’s what helped you see things differently? Instead of go, go, go. I’m assuming. You had to wait a year. Now though, it looks like you’re taking off in good directions. That is wonderful.

      • thank you. yeah, it definitely put a lot of things in perspective, that’s for sure. one of those life defining seasons that wasn’t necessarily the most fun, but one that you wouldn’t change, because of how formative it was.

      • I grew up the old way. Be a man. Do man things. I tried chewing tobacco and threw up after four steps, I was 21. Nearly fell off my perch and dropped my assault rifle. 😂 I can relate. We all try to fly through life like birds when most are caterpillars inching by until they become butterflies.

      • Nature. Is taken for granted. It is closest to God. When I’m stuck on something I read about what animals and plants do. Then, a pattern emerges. I’m glad vegetables healed you they hold so much sunshine.

      • When I was in the ocean and saw birds I knew I was a day away from land. When I was in the desert I’d follow the coyotes to water. In the wild, I’d follow the deer. I ate what they ate. It is interesting, to be civilized is to use nature for man’s gain. To be wild is to deny civility and live in nature. If we know, nature is closer to God then civilization is just, high maintenance spiritually. 😂 I don’t live in a shack in the woods. I’m pretty close though. 😂

      • I️ haven’t! I’ll def have to check t out! Thanks for passing it along Kenzie!

      • Prayer. Affects us psychologically through a surrender of the ego. Physically, it’s like meditation metaphysically it is quite unique to feel that connection to God.

      • oh wow that is really something. i love that. you’re right – it strengthens that connection

  2. Firstly that first photo on this post means so much to me! That human is such a constant source of love and encouragement and that smile just makes my day sometimes I wonder what I did to deserves someone like you in my life x. secondly my prayers are mostly through worship/listening to music on my daily routines, even I don’t says them out loud I know they are heard, I have been having personal revelation recently that have surprised me a little but giving freedom to listen to worship and feel encouraged more. Hope you had a good day, a have a cheeky suggestion for your Wednesday one 😂 wisdom cooking Wednesday like WCW for short hehe x. LYL 💛💛

    • awww, Benjamin! Thank you so much, what a kind thing to say! You are seriously the best. Yeah, that is how I pray too – music really makes me feel the spirit and feel connected with God. That’s some great insight. thank you 🙂 Wisdom Cooking Wednesday! I like that 🙂 hehe big hugs and love to you friend xox

      • God answered the one big question currently in my life, how he was using/ going to use me. I feel Gods heart for people on mine, like sensing how others feel and showing more love to friends than I ever could & I’m in the middle of rehearsals for a Christmas play for at least over 1,200 schoolchildren 💛

  3. So good! Definitely stoked about your recipes! And as always, beautifully said. This hit home for me in an awesome way and it has got me thinking a lot about specific prayers. So, so good!

    • Aw thanks so much! Glad it hit home for you. Yeah, I love that God listens to us — even the specific desires of our hearts 🙂 thanks for stopping by! have a great night! Hugs and love xox

  4. Jesus told us, “You have not because you ask not,” so I agree, God is big enough to handle our requests, He knows us already, and we need to trust that. 🙂 This really speaks to me, thank you for sharing, and I think your additional post will be lovely during the week. 🙂

  5. Hey Caralyn, I am so happy, full of JOY for you, as you are more open to Jesus, He will be able to show you more, and more of His Spirit will be evidenced to you and through you.
That is super that you are praying specifically, that is what God is desiring.
A quick testimony of my learning experience: In 1979 (way before your time) 😀
my Dad, 61 Years Old at the time, was taken to the hospital having trouble breathing. After examining him, the Doctors returned with the news; Dad had one lung completely collapsed, and the second lung was filled with fluid. His heart was overworked, and there was nothing they could do but keep him on IV and oxygen, bed ridden in hospital with 24 – 48 hours to live. That was a shock for all of us, Mom, Sister, my wife and me. We knew Dad had been struggling breathing for a while, but the Doctor had given him two different puffers, they seemed to work, but then he went down fast.
When we left the hospital that night, Dad was unable to sit up in bed, unable to speak, due to the breathing problems.
After dropping my Mom and Sister off at their place, We headed home for quiet time together and to pray.
Kneeling by the bed, I started to pray, then stopped, and said, “Father God, I don’t even know how to pray after what we heard, please help me”!
Then apart from tears, I was quiet. It didn’t take long, I heard the voice of the Spirit of God speak to me, saying, “Be Specific For What You Ask.” That was it, six life changing words, that did change my pray life ever since. After hearing the Holy Spirit, I said, “Ok, Father, I am asking You to restore Dad’s collapsed lung to normal, I ask You to remove all the fluid from his other lung, and that you will restore his breathing and strength to normal.” I then felt perfect Peace, could not pray anymore, so hopped into bed and went right to sleep.
The following day at noon, I rushed up to see how Dad was doing. As I walked down the hall, about three rooms away still, I could hear him laughing. The previous night he could not even speak. As I entered his room, he was sitting up in bed talking and laughing with his roommate.
We had a HALLELUJAH! PRAISE JESUS TIME!

The Doctor had been in earlier in the morning, checked Dad over, and said “I don’t understand this at all, it is a miracle.” The roommate confirmed that as well.
In three days Dad was sent home, returned to work in 1 ½ weeks, continued working until he was 65, and lived until he was 85.

That is one reason I am so thrilled Caralyn that you will be praying specifically, and the importance of it.

Sorry this is so long, but I am still excited about the many things Jesus has done, and is continuing in our lives. HALLELUJAH!!

    God Bless You, Caralyn,
    Luv ya,
    ❤️😀🌹

  6. Hello beautiful! I love your blog and I wanted to say thank you for your likes and support with my blog.
I am learning a lot from you !
    You are amazing!
    Looking forward to your recipes!
    Big hugs from NZ

  7. Hi! I just wanted to thank you so much for liking my first blog post! I too have struggled with an eating disorder – EDNOS with anorexic tendencies and still struggle to an extent with food. So I’m really glad you liked my post because it led me to your channel! I can’t wait to read more and learn more about you. Thanks again, have a wonderful day.

    • hey Ashley! welcome to the wonderful world of blogging! thanks for sharing your story. I’m sorry that we have that in our pasts that connect us, but I’m glad that we’re both on the journey of recovery 🙂 know that I’m in your corner. so glad you stopped by! big hugs xo

  8. Oooh – I’ve been thinking about specificity in prayer lately, too! Thanks for the good challenge

  9. Awesome awesome and awesome!! You’re so very transparent and always know thatGod knows your heart and we all have our setbacks in our prayer life ..just get back to it and you’ll be fine. Now I’m going to be specific in my prayers..thanks for sharing!!

  10. Great post and you are wise beyond your years! Jesus did say, “What do you want me to do for you?” I’ve been doing some discerning on a few things myself lately so definitely relatable. God bless.

  11. In order to have a good relationship with God one has to have a clear mind to communicate effectively, and as the mind is affected by our physical condition you are right on about diet being a part of a clear mind. What we eat and drink definitely has an effect on clarity of mind. Sensible exercise, sunshine, rest and a stress controlled environment are companions to sensible dieting. Thank you for making us aware of those necessary components of the relationship experience with God through your blogs. 🙂

  12. Call me obsequious, but I love everything you write.
Most particularly your handling and treatment of spiritual matters. Always a sumptuous table. Encouraging to me and downright insightful. Kind of like the way I get “fed” in church. I wish I could pop out a good name for Wednesday’s but am stumped for the moment.
Question: if 80% of your readers asked you to do Mondays and Thursdays on YouTube…..would you do it?
Yes, it’s a HUGE burden but God would use it big time.
But I trust you know best.
Thank you for all you do and are consistently excellent. You never disappoint. God’s got something HEAVY DUTY in mind for you kiddo. Am quite certain of that.

    • oh my gosh thank you so much Roland! That seriously makes my heart so warm. i am smiling from ear to ear right now! in terms of the youtube question — yes! if 80% wanted me to, you betcha! hah i definitely would! 🙂 thanks for the encouragement! big hugs x

  13. This post was so thought provoking. You’ve explained how God is listening to each one of us so beautifully and a wonderful reminder to be specific. I cannot agree more. Thanks.

  14. Awesome! Our family just started a new chapter in our life – eating plant based. No dairy no meat and very little gluten if any. Restaurants in WI that offer this = almost 0. ☹️ So I’m cooking my happy butt away! I love it so far, but getting my 4 boys (12, 10, 8 & 2) to enjoy it is another journey.
Super excited to see your blog and get some recipe ideas!! ❤️❤️

    • oh how awesome! yeah my recipes are plant based too!! 🙂 woo!! oh gosh, yeah, I spend a lot of time in WI, and you’re right – it’s hard to find a restaurant. hope you enjoy GlutenFreeHappyTummy! hugs xox

  15. First, my apologies for being so tardy responding. I read this last night after getting home from dinner with Julie. I was just so tired I couldn’t think straight enough to put together 2 sentences despite seeing what a great development this for BBB!

Second, please check for my email ASAP.

3 shoots in one week? Is you acting/modeling career starting to gain some momentum? That just sounds very encouraging to me! So congrats on your continuing success!

Lots more to say along with some name suggestions for your Wednesdays, but it’s over at Patreon…

    • Hey Jeff! thank you so much! yes! i did get your email – thanks for that heads up – i actually took down the podcast and will rerecord it this afternoon. I’ll email you with some specifics that may clear some things up about that, but yes! lots of exciting stuff happening that i am very grateful for. i don’t know what direction God is leading me in, but I’m along for the ride, wherever He decides to send me! haha thanks again, Jeff. I was running out the door when i first read your email so I’ll get back to you as soon as i get back from church this afternoon! hugs to you and julie! xo

  16. It’s been a long time since I’ve considered my prayer life on fire. Impassioned yes, on fire no. Then I got to thinking about perception. Often we perceive a brightly burning fire to be generating the most heat, because the illumination is bright, dancing, and yes HOT. However when the fire has settled down, and is well tended it’s actually burning hotter then when it’s dancing with flames. We need those dancing flames to entice us closer to the fire, the source of heat, and light (and LOVE). We need the settle down fire to get to the hot burning coals so that we might remain closer, keep warmer, prepare food, and be sustained. Feeding the fire and getting the flames dancing now and again is essential to maintaining the fire, maintaining our spiritual life, maintaining our relationship with God.
There is something beautiful in your post, deeply spiritually beautiful. Full of life, and spiritual reminders of God’s faithfulness and presence in our lives, even when we can’t see or experience the dancing flame.

Oh sweet dancing flame of faith!

    Come Holy Spirit!

    • Wow, Teri, this is such an awesome reflection! i love this analogy so much. you’re right – our fires can go through different burning phases, but always be lit. amen to that! big hugs to you xox

  17. Being specific is so important in many aspects of life – It helps with clear or clearer communication. It can certainly be applied to prayer, but I’ve never really thought about it that way. Until now! I’m so happy that you’re sharing your food journey!!

  18. Just checked out your cooking blog – you are vegan too!! Sweet! If you haven’t checked out Rich Roll and his family you have to! They are an inspiration- and their cookbook is full of info and recipes to die for. It’s called the Plant Powered Way. Definitely a base for some more cooking inspirations at the least. ❤️❤️

  19. I love this post! I like the idea of getting specific in prayer requests. I recently discovered that gluten gives me intense headaches, so I can’t wait to read the recipes on your blog!

  20. I know I don’t know you, but I am just so proud of you. Everybody has a chance at a crazy journey that makes them more themselves than ever – sometimes we barely seem to have a choice about it. I’ve just started reading your blog, and already I’m impressed and happy to see the way you treat your life. Good job, and God bless.

  21. Beautiful post! I really enjoyed reading as per usual! I think Whip it up Wednesdays sounds great! Haha! Your food looks amazingly delicious and bless God for answered prayers! I believe the same thing is occurring with my prayer life right now and it clearly needs to be on fire again in Jesus Name! So, I’ll be looking out for those verses, soon! Have a blessed one! 😊🙏✨🌺💯❤👐😇xx

  22. You are really such an inspiration. You’re such an encourager! When I first came across your blog, I was like wow God, I pray I can be that bold in sharing my eating disorder story like she is. And to say the least, your boldness and unashamed transparency has lit a fire in my heart to share my story. I finally did a blog post on it and I just want to say thank you 🙂

God bless you and this new journey!

    • Hey again Neli! Wow my heart is so warm after reading such kind words. Thank you so much for the affirming and generous words. I’m so glad you decided to share you story! I️ know it will touch the lives of many 🙂 you’re a rock star 🙂 biggest hugs to you friend xox

  23. Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” I think this applies to praying specifically for what you need. Thanks for continuing to share your amazing journeys.

  24. Good job, my friend.
I’ve been pray specifically for the last couple of months – every morning, seven days a week. Jesus’ “persistent widow” is my hero! (See Luke 18:1-8).
You are so right, when you wrote, “You don’t get what you don’t ask for.” Love that line! I may steal it!

  25. Blessings and more blessings, this is why I keep coming back to your blog over and over. I’m excited about your recipes because I love cooking new things. Girl set that prayer fire a blaze again, wear it out and watch the blessings rain. God created everything, He certainly can handle any prayers. Matter of fact, He already knows what you want before you even ask, He just waiting on us to ask ;);):):)

  26. It’s true, Heavenly Parent gives us what we ask for. However, it happens He would wish to give us something absolutely different as He knows us better than we do…

BTW: actions over words – this is how God works 🙂

  27. Hey, this is exciting news about your blog. And integration is a good thing…
    🙂 It’s great

    I am glad to hear,
and I think a Bible verse and a reflection is a conversation to join –

  28. Three generations of cooks in my family and I paid my way through University by working as a short order cook. I’m looking forward to your new Wednesdays endeavour.

  29. In some ways, I had a similar (Oh my, so similar!) experience a few years ago… I thought that “my life”, meaning “everything I like in it” was kind of… well… “over”… And that I will have to just admit to myself that the best part of it was just behind me, and just couldn’t do anything but accepting this (ugly) truth… Then, I found out that no, I wanted to live and live fully, and this intense desire started changing things inside me, and my health improved in a way that doctors are now used to say “we don’t understand your ‘thing’ but that’s it”… So, yes, 100% yes! God wants us to ask what we want, and if our beliefs are strong and positive miracles DO happen!
    Thumbs up for everything! 🙂
    Joy and love from Paris!

  30. You don’t know how many people you are encouraging and empowering through your honesty and openness. Thanks for sharing so much. Keep at it!!

  31. “But the point is, I got specific.”

That is a great lesson for everyone’s prayer life. Most prayers I hear are like a bowl of cold, lumpy oatmeal — very bland.

In the Bible, people tore their clothes and cried out to the LORD. Their prayers were loud and passionate. Jesus sweated blood when he prayed.

I knew a woman who prayed, “Lord, I need a car.”

Well, she got a car, but it was a lemon. It had to be pushed downhill in order to start. That’s when you say, “Be careful what you ask for.”

    Be specific!

Oh, these people who pray, “Lord, I want to be married.”

“Alright,” says the Lord. “I’ll fix you up with this fella over here. He doesn’t work, he drinks all day, and he’ll spend all your money.”

    No, people, be specific!

  32. Reading this reminds me how much I need the perspectives of others. As a global kind of thinker, the reminder to never neglect the specifics of life is huge for me. Thanks for being you on paper.

  33. “Wellness Wednesday!” (Just a suggestion, giggles.) This would be broad enough for you to incorporate numerous ways in which you maintain wellness in your life, without limiting you to only sharing your food plan. I would be interested in other ways to receive your cookbook as I am not a kindle subscriber (I am OBsessed with Audible currently…) Please let us know if you will be offering the cookbook in other print opportunities!! Hugs to you for merging your life’s wisdom together, for us all to grow-from.

    • oooh Dawn, I love that!! thank you for the suggestion! i will look into other options and definitely keep you posted! big hugs to you xox

  34. As I said on your food blog, you should be on the Food Network. Remember the video you posted — the one where you were in your kitchen peeling the jackfruit?

You have a camera, a recipe book, a compelling story, and a screen presence. Have you never considered being the next Rachel Ray?

How ’bout this? Submit a video to the Food Network! Call it, oh I don’t know, “Eating Healthy with Caralyn”.

    https://youtu.be/LwtH79cq5c4?rel=0

    • Thanks so much for this awesome encouragement! That is such an awesome idea! I’m flattered! Hugs and love xox

  35. Sweet, sweet, beautybeyondbones, you are a treasure. Thank you for faithfully ‘liking’ my blog when I had almost no readers. I love yours and pray the Father continues to use it and you greatly to encourage and motivate His people. Blessings!

    • Oh my gosh thank you so much! Absolutely! I️ love to support fellow bloggers:) Hugs and love xox

  36. As a blogger with very few followers, I’ve really appreciated the ‘likes’ you’ve sent my way, and wanted to learn more about you. What a life, what a gift you are. I love seeing how God is using your story to help heal others. God bless you and the work of your hands! xox

  37. Great blog post, I know exactly how it feels to be on a g-f diet – it is H. A. R. D. when you see a krispy kreme donut and your gluten intolerant, hahaha! Can’t wait for the recipes, and a good thing to take that rejuvenates your body is “bovine colostrum” powder – it has really helped me and it is believed to have sealed leaky gut, intolerances, etc.! God bless, Arnya xx

    • thanks so much! i know – it is hard for sure 🙂 I hope these recipes prove to be helpful for you! and wow how interesting – thanks for passing that info along! Hugs and love xox

  38. This post reminds me very much of something my grandfather used to say – “G-d helps those who help themselves.” I believe through “specific” prayer, you not only asked G-d for these things, but asked yourself as well. And then through hard work and determination, and the strength of your faith, you made these things happen. G-d helped you help yourself. As always, thank you for sharing your story. ❌⭕️❌⭕️

    • Thanks so much friend. I️ think there’s really something to that – God does help those who help themselves. Hugs and love xox

  39. Continue staying strong, my sister in Christ! You are an inspiration to all of us that needs to stay and be uplifted. Everything that you, and your family, are currently going through and have made it through is nothing but a Testimony of the heart and the Spirit.

Whenever we have to change up anything in our lives truly means that God is working in our lives and is only helping and blessing us in the process. So sorry to hear of you having ulcerative colitis. No condition is fun to have, but what I love watching you do is overcoming any life challenges in your life and going on adventures and enjoying yourself. You have no idea how much you have empowered me to do the same. Here I am living with MS and I just felt like giving up on doing anything, but you… my dear… are a strong angel in disguise. You are a brave fighter and you keep on adventuring; both you and your mom.

Thank you for giving me that push I needed! 🙂 Many hugs and kisses. xoxo 😉

  40. Sending you more hugs and love for all the wonderful that you are and the wonderful things you do that really show how much God Blesses us every day through the good times and the hard times. You are an inspiration for all!! xoxoxo

  41. I am definitely looking forward to seeing some of your recipes! I follow you in Instagram and it never looks like a restricted diet on there!

As for your prayer life, I think it’s probably more active than you think. It may not always be specific, but sometimes just spending that few minutes alone with God each day can make a world of difference. I will definitely be praying for you to feel more inspired by your prayer life though! God knows what you need and he also knows that even though you don’t feel like you’ve prayed with enough fervor, he’s obviously been on your mind!

    • Thanks friend! Yeah I’ve definitely had to learn to be creative in my food preparation. Thanks for your prayers and for this great advice! Hugs and love xox

  42. Not that I want to make you comfortable with less (because there is always so so much more for anyone who desires to dive deeper) but perhaps you can take comfort in the reminder that the Christian ‘evolution’ if you will, goes like this: YHWH created man in YHWH’s image and likeness. God was as close as our skin. We turned away but Father pursued us and continually desired to continue to be as close as our skin, ultimately leading to Jesus in our skin, dying for us. I know, you’ve heard it before (: but the reality that goes so often undermined by religious culture, is that Father has always been as close as our skin–and closer–actions aside. And when you accepted Jesus you might have invited him into your life but he was already there in and around you because your life has always been hidden in him since the cross; choosing him only gave you a reason to begin noticing him in you all along (:

All that to say, when you notice your prayer life slump…don’t neglect the mundane. Because every thought you think to yourself, boom, you’re actually thinking it to Jesus. Christ-in-me-the-hope-of-glory, I in him and he in I, in Him you live and breath and have your being and in you he lives and moves and has his being (: I mentioned I was in this kind of re-defining stage and this has been part of it for a long time, but particularly now, the realization that the thoughts I think have value to Jesus. You don’t have to kneel at the foot of your bed and fold your hands and bow your head to ‘pray’ three times a day because every moment waking or sleeping you are in him and every moment you are aware of that fact is a little prayer (:

And on being specific… you know, I feel like Father is most fond of providing in the specifics, hearing our personal hearts instead of generics. Awesome! (: (:

    Anyway (:

    • Thank you for this awesome perspective, Carson. you’re so right – He is within my heart and my thoughts go to Him. that’s so powerful to think about. and i am humbled by that fact. you always know just what to say to motivate and encourage! thank you friend! have a great night! hugs x

  43. Love Carson’s commentary. It’s the very essence of “pray without ceasing” when we transform our prayer life from not only spending dedicated quiet time with Him but walking and talking with Him moment by moment.

That is when we lean into ‘walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh’ as we let Jesus be a part of EVERYTHING we do…in all our trips and busyness!

Looking forward to the Wednesday cooking blogs. I stated a similar dietry change 2 years ago when Holy Spirit revealed after many years what my condition was…and after numerous tests if all kinds -Hiradenitus Supravita. So thankful that I no-longer suffer from the condition since I changed my diet and lifestyle…stress is such a killer. Not how Father intended us to live.

Anyway, love your blogs, and your authenticity.

    • Thank you so much for your thoughts! You’re so right. We’ve got to let Him be part of absolutely everything! Hugs and love xox

  44. Last month I finished reading the book of Job. I realized how self righteous Job’s friends were; and then the Lord showed me how much like them I am. How quick I am to judge others based on their circumstances, instead of loving them

    • oh wow, isn’t scripture so powerful and illuminating? thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox
