And so yesterday, my first article was published. It’s a raw and vulnerable look into my story, and Lent. And I’ve received really wonderful feedback about it, so I’m incredibly excited to share it with you.

    • Oh my gosh thank you so much. What an incredibly kind thing to say! I’m so glad YOU are in the world! πŸ™‚ Hugs and love xox

      • but truly. it is souls like you who give me hope. i remember in the depths of my anorexia, i never believed my life could have any impact on this world. but here you are, alive, having impact, proving me wrong. thank you. hugs times a million.

      • This honestly just made my entire week. I am so touched. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

  1. You have a conviction that many should strive to achieve. Just the fact that your faith allows you to have the honesty many run away from. You do deserve all the Kudu available. You are an amazing young Woman. Thank you for sharing.

  2. First order of business is patting myself on the back. You wrote not long ago that you wondered when your blogging would come to fruition. I reminded you it already had with 36K plus readers, recognition as a top ED blogger, and that more was sure to come. Enter (drum roll please) WINE.

Cue the confetti, and the crowd goes wild!

Caralyn, I am so happy for you, proud of you… I could just bust! Your inner light continues to shine through all you do! Your network continues to grow, your message – God’s message – keeps on spreading, and that’s such a blessing for you!

    • Thanks Jeff – yes this is definitely a case of “you told me so!” hahaha thank you – you have been such a source of support and encouragement. You’ve helped me believe in myself, and for that I am grateful with all my heart. Thank you Jeff. You are a great friend. sending massive hugs xo

  3. Congrats on the publication!!! You really hit the nail on the head about the topic of idols and how destructive they can be. While never experiencing anything as dramatic as your eating disorder, I too have experienced the destructiveness of having idols during my young adult years.

    • Thank you so much Brendan!! I’m so glad this resonated with you πŸ™‚ God is good. Hugs and love xox

    • thank you so much, what a kind thing to say πŸ™‚ God is good! Hugs and love xox

  4. You have a way of writing that pulls at the soul and it gives me reason to ponder. Even as a horribly lapsed (truly “sinful”, if I’m honest) catholic, I always find a pull to participate it Lenten obligations. Having followed this blog for so long, I always find you to be an inspiration.

Maybe, someday, I’ll have the courage to seek out the help I need from Him…

    • oh gosh, thank you friend. the amazing thing, is that we are *never* too sinful or far gone for His love. No matter what, we are always welcomed with open arms. Jesus loves to forgive. I will deifnitely keep you in my prayers. He can’t wait for you to let Him in so He can heal and love every part of you πŸ™‚ sending so much love and hugs xox

  5. It takes a special kind of person to stand-up and tell the world i have ED and to tell your story, I love your curage and compashon dear, nice article and nice chose of music to go with it.

    BY FOR NOW

  6. Congratulations! And I enjoyed listening to your podcast. As an Orthodox Christian, I understand your perspective of Great Lent. Orthodox Lent is very strict because it’s about what you said, denying ourselves and growing closer to God. And you are also right, from my perspective, that it’s not just about abstaining from animal products (yes, ours includes all of that if one is healthy and doesn’t have medical issues), but about praying more, reading more of the Scriptures and spiritual books (such as stories of the Saints), almsgiving, and attending church services because, like I said above, it cleanses us, centers us on Christ and becoming more like Him. A blessed Lent to you, and kudos, again for your newest blessing!

  7. Congratulations on the new writing gig. I always enjoy your spiritual reflections and thank you for sharing them. Hold high the flame of the faith!

  8. “Our Lord Jesus Christ said: Hear O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord; and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Christ is Love and that certainly is not dreary and dull. “β€œIf you find me not within you, you will never find me. For I have been with you, from the beginning of me.”

      • I am trying to purchase your book about blocking tipsy when I’m having trouble, is it bailable on kindle on Amazon only from the site provided

      • Only on Blurb. The ebook β€œMy Bloggig Tips” is also available on kindle/Apple IBooks, android devices and PC.

  9. Yes I grew up thinking the same about the ten most important commandments. I thought it was all about don’ts and teenagers don’t react well to rules do they? πŸ™‚ However I came to realize the “thou shalt nots” are not commands, they are promises. You approached it in a similar manner, but to me what God is saying is created beings in heaven don’t kill, or rob, they have respect for each other and each other’s things etc. So if you find it scary living in this world, and it is scary, then take courage because it’s not that way in heaven at all. Makes you want to go there doesn’t it? I love God’s ten rules, they make me feel safe about the long term future and I think I can put up with all the horrors in this present world thinking about that future.

    • Promises. I love that. Thanks for this awesome perspective. Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much. That really means a lot. Glad it hit home with you! Hugs and love xox

  10. Okay! I can go to bed now since I had my evening devotion with Miracle Yello on SoundCloud. Wooo…that was spirit-led people. I’m sure I’ll see Saint Patrick in my dreams tonight. Because – The Nails…hehehe. Good stuff girl. Good job. Keep it coming.

    • Haha aww thank you so much Ish. I can always count on you for a smile πŸ™‚ big hugs xox

  11. Congratulations! I listened to your podcast and enjoyed it. You made a wonderful discovery about the Father’s love for you. Caralyn, you are a living miracle and really came back from death into vibrant life. Jesus makes us whole. So encouraging!

  12. Very good read.

justa note though, the laws aren’t a bunch of “…shall nots…”.

They’re a list of “If you love..”

“If you love Me, you shall have no other gods…

“If you love your parents you honor them…

If you love your neighbor you shall not ….” and on and all.
Jesus said all the law and the prophets hang on two commandments, loving God and loving our neighbor.

So to me, the Ten are a reflection of the Love exemplified through His Son.

    Happy Lent and God Bless

  13. I listened to your podcast Caralyn and was blown away by your insight. May you continue to be blessed in the very real ministry you have, in using your own journey to teach others, the true meaning of what Christ has done for us

    • Gosh thank you so much Andrew. I really appreciate your kind words! Blessings to you! Hugs and love xox

  14. Hey Caralyn. Holy Spirit continues to show He will work in and through the life of everyone who surrenders to Messiah, Jesus, the Christ, to the Glory of God our Father.
It was truly a God Moment when you realized that your physical body had become β€œyour god”. The Spirit of Jesus opened your Spiritual eyes wide, I believe, and now thousands of others are hearing you tell the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ being available to all who call on His Name, asking forgiveness of sins and surrendering their life to Him. As you are so open and welcoming to all, that is the way our Lord Jesus is, it does not matter the nationality, skin colour, creed, previous beliefs or lifestyle, β€œreligion”, Jesus Christ welcomes all to the Kingdom of God.
Each one of us, before acknowledging Jesus Christ as God, and accepting Him as Saviour, have a self-made, self-proclaimed, self-chosen god that we worship with our time, talents, activities, wealth. It is a beautiful, Spirit inspired way in which you have described this in your life, and the freedom you now have in Jesus.
I am praying, alongside you Caralyn, as I know your heart is for all people to hear the call of the Spirit of God to turn from things and self to Jesus Christ.
Thank you for sharing your love for our Lord Jesus in such an open, gentle, powerful, understanding, truthful, personal way. You are a blessing to thousands.

    God’s Continuing, Abundant Blessings.
    Luv, πŸ˜€πŸŒΉβ€οΈ Hugs!!

    • Hey George! Gosh what a kind note. Thank you so much. That’s so right – we all have an idol we need to let go of. Big hugs to you xox

  15. Yes, you guessed. This comment is one of the many congratulation messages. But, why not?! Also, that 1st photo really perfectly emphasises your beauty. Gorgeous!

  16. Congratulations on your first article, but I dare say it probably will not be the last! Once the writing-for-publication bug bites, you’re hooked. That’s how it was for me. Keep writing, and helping others.

  17. Congrats, it’s a wonderful feeling to get published! It’s like hitting a grand slam when the bases are loaded. ❀️

  18. Now this is a womens revolution I can get behind, I’m a bit weary of this “feminist revolution” not because I’m a male. Think you talked about it in another post. Also, every time I see a photo of you on here my heart melts. You always have the brightest of eyes, having your soul on display 😍 x

  19. 2 Corinthians 1:4 — (my verse for this season in my life, as I’m going to share soon….)” who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” Bless you for being vulnerable and faithful to use your struggle to point to the love of our Father God — its impossible without him, and more people need to know that hope! xoxo

  20. Congratulations! Glad to see your dedication, talent, and message will reach an even wider audience. Well deserved. Peace!

  21. Loved your article! I appreciate how you show through your own experience how destructive our faith can be while at the same time so beautiful and liberating. We need to look at the deeper meaning of our rituals and traditions to look at whether or not they are helpful or destructive. We need to think about the kind of life Jesus intends us to have. Also we need to do this without judgment. When we unleash the love of God our lives are changed forever.

    • Thank you so much Roland! amen to that — lives truly are transformed when we let His love in! Hugs and love xox

    • Thanks Migueltio! I hope you’re having a great week so far! Big hugs to you xox

Here’s the newest post on my page, shared here just for you.
        “Forty Days”
        Lent is
        purple
        penitential
        prayerful.
        To many
        Lent is dull
        to many
        the thought of
        Lent
        clouds the
        excitement
        of life with a
        grey foggy lull.

        Lent in The North is
        still the presence of
        Winter’s whitest snow
        while in The South, Lent
        is a warmer, much more
        colorful new spring
        floral show.

        Many ask why
        they should recognize
        Lent as a reminder of
        a sacrificial event so
        heartbreaking so
        sad by many forget
        that that very
        event
        was truthfully
        was wholeheartedly
        meant
        to renew our hearts
        clean our souls
        and help us to be
        eternally, spiritually
        glad.

        ~Miguel
