Talking Faith, Hope & Coffee with Ben Higgins!

Hope. It’s a word that holds a lot of weight on this blog. Because no matter what you’re going through, no matter what adversity you’re facing in life, the truth is – hope is something that we could all use a lot more of.

Hope in Christ. Hope in the goodness of others. Hope in ourselves, in future situations, in better things ahead. Hope turns things around. And what better time than Christmas, to bring that hope to the forefront.

Tonight, friends, I am joined by Mr. Ben Higgins. You probably recognize that name from his days as The Bachelor on ABC, but there’s so much more to this man than his past dating history.

For me, the word hope is really what Christ came to talk to us about. He wanted – He asked us – He prayed with us – to bring Heaven to earth. […] So if we can bring a little more hope, maybe we can clear up a lot of the human injustices that we need to combat.” – Ben Higgins

And trust me, he’s got a lot more to say about that.

As you will hear, Ben’s “for-purpose” company, Generous Coffee, is shaking up the coffee industry in a big way, and serving up joe with a side of hope.

I’m thrilled to share our conversation with you! Take a listen, and join the Generous Movement!

Listen to my conversation with Ben Higgins!

Generous Coffee is such a meaningful gift to give for Christmas. Maybe I’ve been watching one too many Hallmark Christmas movies, but I have such a deep desire to get back to the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus.

And I want the gifts I give to reflect that. I want to bring it back to the joy and charity of the Manger. And what better way to do that, than to give a gift that not just benefits the recipient, but that also delivers hope and life changing opportunities to our brothers and sisters who need it most.

Which is why I am honored to share Generous Coffee and apparel with you, as a Christmas gift that truly keeps Christ in Christmas. One that keeps on giving.

And just today, there’s a special offer: If you buy one GenUS shirt, you can get any Generous Threads tee for FREE. Free! Use the code: CHRISTMASDAY10 – Thanks, Ben for that amazing deal.

  5. So exciting you had Ben on the podcast! I loved listening to it. What an amazing company. Oh, and I love how he said “if you are going to drink coffee, why not drink life changing coffee” (or something like that)… it really makes me rethink the companies I support, because if I’m going to buy something anyways, why not support a great cause! Thanks for sharing, Caralyn- you did a phenomenal job hosting. (ps. I hope this comment goes through- I have left a couple comments that I think may have got stuck in the spam que, WP is driving me bananas lately!)

    • Hi Mackenzie! Thank you so much for listening! I loved hearing his heart come across. Heโ€™s doing great things. I agree! We vote with our wallets, so letโ€™s support causes that are doing good and mirroring Christโ€™s example! Oh no!! Iโ€™m sorry about the comments fiasco! WP is going through a bit of a shake up with their new editor update so I have a feeling that may have something to do with it. Hey, thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a fabulous night! Hugs and love xox

  6. God is a God of justice and we to ought to go out and make the difference and stand up for righteousness throughout the world and in our countries and communities as well. I love what Ben said in that quote you placed in the beginning of the post. Its very true. We ought to exemplify Christ. Live like Him. Be like Him. Loves what He loves and abhor what he abhors.

Grace & peace to you dear! Blessings! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Dear Carolyn my friend I have a serious question to ask you. The other day on the news I heard that your Superman of the Catholic faith wanted to change the words of Jesus in The sermon on the Mount. I’m interested to know what you think about that? Before you answer going to give you a little bit of a background as to what he wanted to change it 2.

The original text States lead us not into temptation but deliver Us from evil KJV. Pope Francis your Superman wanted to change the words of Jesus Cindy by saying abandoned us not when we are tempted. I understand why you would like to say that but it doesn’t matter Jesus said it one way not another. Now I know conversation like this can be rather confrontational and I know that we have had our confrontations in the past but with putting yourself on the internet like you have to come across to debates sometime. are you leaving the greatest city in the world not New York but Ohio how do I know that because I travel to Ohio every month for church. When I can’t get to church I watch it on television. But here my church is in your backyard.

Here’s my thinking behind the whole changing of the verbiage so to speak because it is God’s word it should not be changed no matter how old it could be. Now I understand this affect probably won’t come into America very soon because it’ll only be changed in Italian thus far. However I speak Italian fluently yes that’s right so this changing of the words offends me not because the pope did it but because it loses its meaning God doesn’t tempt us Satan tempts us we are to resist temptation simply by using the word the truth and the sword so my dearest friend Carolyn my question to you is was Pope Francis correct in changing the words of Jesus.? NowI may not agree with everything you have to say but I give you an opportunity to say them anyway. Because this isn’t a debate it’s open air understanding and if we understand each other then that together bring the unity through faith. I also understand that sometimes I shake your feathers a little bit. And sometimes you shake my and oftentimes that’s okay because that’s lets us know that we’re both alive.
    God bless you

  8. I’m wondering. Is hope the same as faith? I didn’t used to think so, but I’ve been rethinking a lot these days. What do you think? I may do a blog post of my own on this too. I’d just like to get your thoughts. Thx

    • Hi friend, that is really a great question! I think hope comes from faith. I personally canโ€™t have the one without the other. What do you think? Hugs and love xox

      • I would agree. Both are very important. In normal sense, they are almost synonymous, looking forward in expectation of good and desired events or happenings. Although there is a type of faith that I feel has almost a presumptuous certainty that it borders on either ignorance of possibilities, knowing intellectual dishonesty, or just sheer delusion. Hope is hopeful, but that kind of Faith is lying to yourself and perhaps others. Not trying to be too negative, but what do you think?

      • Interesting perspective. Well we are called to have a childlike faith.
