My Super Embarrassing Date!

Well, friends, grab your popcorn, pour yourself a glass of wine, and snuggle up, because I have aΒ story for youΒ tonight.Β

Honestly, guys. How I get myself into these situations, I will never know. But I have a crazy embarrassing story that is…yes…from my date on Friday night. And for those of you keeping track, yes…this was date number two.Β

And after this story…probably the last.Β

ANYWHO – if you would ratherΒ hear meΒ tell this doozey of a tale, you can also watch the video here…

First, quickly – a big thank you to those of you who have a) been stopping by Amazon link when they do their Christmas shopping on Amazon.Β I see you, andΒ I thank youΒ for your support! And b) Thank you to those wonderful people who have ordered my book, Bloom, for Christmas! I even signed a few copies for people, which was fun, and I am so grateful, again, for your support. It honestly allows me to continue this blog ministry!Β

OK NOW. ONTO MY MORTIFYING TALE.Β

So this of course, happened on the way to my date on Friday.Β

But first, allow me to set the scene.Β

I have super dry skin. Like,Β severely dry skin. We’re talking alligator status here. I think it has something to do with my autoimmune disease…butΒ especiallyΒ in the winter, my hands rival that of a dock worker from the Great Depression.Β

So, last time I was home, my father, in the most loving way possible, he goes, “Hey Care…Um, you know, maybe you should put some lotion on your hands. I mean, now that you’re going out on dates…guys like girls with soft hands.”Β

bahahha Leave it to my dad to tell it to me straight, am I right?Β

But anyways…I took his advice. And over the last month or so, it’s been helping!Β

Anywho – fast forward now to Friday night. It’s raining, I’m in my Uber on the way to meet up with this guy at a nice restaurant.Β

And so I’m getting out of the Uber with my freshly lotioned hands, juggling an umbrella and my purse, and trying not to get my hair wet. Well, something with the mixture of the rain on the car door and my hand lotion, somehow – my hand slipped and I slammed the door closed, on my hand. I mean, my pain tolerance is through the roof, and this was excruciating pain. IΒ for sureΒ thought I broke my finger.Β

And I look down, and it is justΒ gushing blood. We’re talkingΒ dripping from my hand. I was a sight, guys — a beautiful fur-lined coat, dress, high heels, and then this Bride of Chucky, fleeing-the-scene-of-a-murder extremity.Β Β

So I have no idea what to do. I amΒ deepΒ in the East Village. We’re talkingΒ Alphabet City.Β There’s not a CVS in sight. The streets are deserted because it’s pouring rain. I am SOL.Β

So I’m frantically walking down the street – probably for two blocks, trying to findΒ somethingΒ that’s a) open. B) Not scary looking. or C) Like I’m not going to get AIDS.Β

And mind you, I have nothing on me to like, apply pressure to this gaping wound. No tissue. No handkerchief. Not even a dang CVS receipt to stop the bleeding. So we’re just gushing.Β

Then rising from dark, like the freaking Star of Bethlehem, was the bright orange and pink sign, for Dunkin Donuts.Β

Mind you, I haven’t been inside a Dunkin Donuts since probably 2001, eating a vanilla glazed with rainbow sprinkles before our sixth grade chorus concert.Β

Anywho – I stumble in there, making a bee-line for the napkin dispenser, simply to stop the geyser, erupting from my index finger. And I’m looking around this tiny, East Village storefront :Β no bathroom.

So I approach the counter and standing there, watching this episode of SVU transpiring before their eyes — there are these twoΒ incredibly kind, motherly women working behind the counter. Angels on earth, let me tell you. And of course, they had seen my distress. And they were moved with compassion to help me.Β

Without even a second thought, they sprung into first-responder mode. They got out their gloves and went to work on me. We’re talking sterilized, cleaned up, bandaged, givenΒ extraΒ bandages. These two women were my saving grace and truly, I don’t know what I would have done without them.Β

So SHOUT OUT, DUNKIN DONUTS, and those two kind women for taking care of me!!!Β

Just to tie the loose ends up, I did finally make it to the date…albeit 20 minutes late. But yeah, what an impression, huh?Β

Anywho – the next day, I’m settling in, and preparing to record my Oh What a Beautiful Morning video, and the bible verse that popped up for the day was Luke 3: 10-11.

The crowds asked John the Baptist,
β€œWhat should we do?”
He said to them in reply,
β€œWhoever has two cloaks
should share with the person who has none.Β
And whoever has food should do likewise.”

I feel like God was winking to me, sharing this verse with me, about what else: generosity.Β

And at first, I thought –Β Oh this is great! It fits in perfectly with the theme from last week, and my interview with Ben Higgins, about his company Generous Coffee.Β

Because it’s true! Ben’s company is out there providing resources and opportunities with our brothers and sisters in Honduras, who need it most. It’s living out the instructions from this verse in Luke, and what a beautiful thing that is.Β

But then it hit me – generosity can look a lot of different ways, as demonstrated by those two angels in the donut shop. It can be providing someone an opportunity who is in need of a helping hand, or providing someone a bandaid who is bleeding profusely in the East Village on a rainy date night in December.Β

But that’s my challenge to you. Heading into this Christmas week, we are going to have to so many opportunities to be generous. Sure, with the bell ringers on the side walk, but also, say…with a niece or nephew who wants to capture your attention for five minutes. We can be generous and delight them with our full attention – away from our phones. Or we can help clean up the kitchen, or spend an extra few minutes having a conversation with the elderly at church, who are alone for Christmas. There are so many opportunities this time of year. Let’s look for them.Β

SoΒ thank youΒ forΒ yourΒ generosity in indulging me in sharing my embarrassing story with you.Β

God wanted to show me the beauty in everyday generosity — albeit at the expense of my finger!

Have a beautiful night, and I’ll see ya on Wednesday!Β

Have you ever had an embarrassing situation like that on a date? Please – feel free to share and make me feel like less of a monster! πŸ™‚Β

  1. I’ve had some awful dates. I’ve found myself in some particularly tough situations recently. I however in retrospect put this down to me trying to get back on the horse too soon after the break up of my marriage and my anxiety issues exploding. I wasn’t ready and this explained why they all went so badly. Honestly. Ive done some really silly things over past few months. I found myself becoming and acting like a person I didnt like very much. I had to take a step back and readdress the situation (which after the suicide attempt, became a lot easier).

    • And the reason for my behaviour was partially down to my fear of being alone and partly due to me not actually liking myself very much. I desperately sought the approval of others to make me feel better about me.

Actually getting there now though. I am in so much better a place, Surrounded by some very good people

      • I’m so glad that hear that πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’› because you are so SO worth the love of another person ( and yourself! )

      • Too early days to talk of love but I have met somebody that seems to like me a lot. And I like her also. Lets see how this pans out, nice and slow, no stress.

      • oh that is so wonderful!!! πŸ™‚ praying for you and your relationship! xoxo

    • Oh friend, my heart is with you. Thank you for sharing your story. I’m so sorry it’s been a difficult season and just know that I am praying for you. It always brings me so much hope to remember that Jesus is always with us, and that He will see us through even the seemingly darkest days. Love you friend. Hugs and love xox

  2. Oh no!! I could just see you moving through the night in need of help. I’ve never actually walked into a DD, but yeah for them. Oh, not that I’m a super heath freak, but we didn’t have them in the deep south.
    Merry Christmas,
    Scott

    • Haha thank you so much Scott. Yeah it was a tumultuous start to the evening for sure. Oh yeah, y’all are crispy Cream down south, right?? I think I spelled that wrong haha Same to you!! Hugs and love xox

  3. Yikes! I would’ve laughed hysterically reading this, if I hadn’t been in full Mother-Hen mode, terrified for you. On another note, I love the memes you put at the end of this post, and have shared one to my Facebook page (Jan Caldwell Johnson).

    • awww, thank you so much!! haha yeah it was pretty funny — looking back at it, definitely more so than in the moment! thank you for your care and concern! and awesome! what an honor that you would pass it along! thanks! πŸ™‚ xox

  4. God led you to those wonderful women. By the way- If I had a date with a women I cared about even if it was only the second date, and she had an accident that caused her to be late, it would actually endear her to me more. Any man who is worthy of you would not think of your accident as a reason to not date you in the future.

  5. So your date’s IT guy hasn’t found your blog yet, right? πŸ™‚ That was the first thing that went through my mind when I saw the title of this post. DM

    • hahhaa guess not!!! Fingers crossed!!! hehehe Thanks DM, for taking the time to read! have an awesome night! xox

    • Hahaha thanks for taking the time to read it! Yeah definitely cringy for sure! Hugs and love xox

  6. It’s a miracle that you found these two Angels! Everything happens for a reason as directed by God. I hope the date was better. πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈπŸ˜Œ

    • Thanks John! It was tooootally a miracle! Concrete angels – just like the song πŸ™‚ glad you stopped by! Hugs and love xox

  7. I had my share of bad dates before striking gold with my beautiful bride of almost 33 years. There was, for example, the girl who literally spent the entire evening talking about an ex-boyfriend. That was fun. NOT. I also remember vividly another girl who spent our entire evening together nervously giggling at everything I said. EVERYTHING!

“Do you want something to drink?”

    Giggle, giggle, giggle. Giggle, giggle.

Look at the bright side. You came to the date with a compelling, self-depricating story that gave your date the opportunity to shower you with empathy. Perhaps walking into this date all bandaged up allowed you a rare glimpse into the kind of man he is or isn’t.

    • Hi Patrick! Thanks so much for sharing your story! 33 years! Congratulations! That’s really something to celebrate. Great point. Lots to think about. Hugs and love xox

    • They are SO awesome! God was really watching out for me that night! Thanks so much Ryan! Hugs and love xox

  8. Nothing like some blood and bandages on a first date. I can think of few better excuses for cutting things short in case you don’t hit it off with the guy. 😁

    • Hahaha too funny – yeah it was actually a fun night! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  9. On my parents’ first date, my dad accidentally knocked my mom on the floor while dancing. She cut herself during the fall, and she passed out for a while. To make matters worse, the owner of the establishment they were at was my dad’s ex-wife, and filling out the incident report was his first conversation with his ex since the divorce. That didn’t stop my parents from getting engaged three months later…

    • oh my gosh! I hate to laugh but my goodness what a story! I’m glad things worked out! Thanks for sharing that! Hugs and love xox

  10. As I was reading, I kept saying, Oh NO, Oh NO! I’m so sorry. What amazing ladies at the donut shop!! This post on generosity and kindness reminds me so much of the piece I just posted. And what you said is a great reminder, to look for ways to offer your generosity…they’re out there! Sometimes you just have to be aware. Btw, I know what you mean about the hand lotion. My hands are super dry, and I’m ALWAYS putting on lotion! πŸ™‚ xoxo

    • Thank you Jenny, yeah those ladies were concrete angels!! Yeah the winter is a rough time of year for our skin! Hugs and love xox

  11. I feel like that event shouldn’t have given your date any reason to be upset. How is your finger doing now?

Oh wow, you’re asking for crazy date stories? Hm, I dodged a kiss once and the guy fell over a fence. He tried again a few months later, which I again dodged, this time slamming the horn in my car haha. I went on a date with another guy in my sweaty grassy soccer uniform… looking back I have no idea what I was thinking then. Fun times!

I’m sure God has the perfect man lined up for you who will one day love these stories because it means you stayed available for him to snatch up!

  12. Embarrassing date? I’m not always a big talker. If I have nothing to say, I have nothing to say. When I’m with someone I’m comfy with I am fine with just sitting with her and enjoying her presence.

1st or 2nd date with Julie at the movies. We’re sitting there pre-show, and I’m like a clam. Nothing to say. I remember I joke I know that fits with Julie being into history. So I start off with how some historian thinks that unknown works by Bach were buried with him in his tomb. He’s convincing enough that the authorities agree to open the tomb.

Julie’s never heard of this before and is drinking it all in. I get to the point where the tomb is opened and entered, TV cameras and lights blazing. They find a little old man in there with a pile of manuscripts and a giant eraser and working furiously with it.

β€œWho are you and what are you doing?!?

In my best old man character voice – β€œI am Bach. And I am decomposing!’

Found out later that was almost our last date. Personally, I thought it was pretty well delivered, but…

    • Hahaha oh my gosh what a fun story!!Thank you for sharing that! That was the beginning of a beautiful relationship! I am decomposing…haha priceless!! Hugs and love xox

  13. ouch! thank goodness for those two kind souls at dunkin donuts! I hope the rest of the date went well and don’t throw in the towel yet!! πŸ™‚

    • Haha thanks Sophie! Yes! My concrete angels at the donut shop! Thanks friend. Hugs and love xox

  14. I guess I’m old school or just old. I can’t get past the idea of taking an Uber and meeting a date at a restaurant. As for dry hands, consider it a blessing as a person suffers from clammy hands. Uber drivers are self-employed and entrepreneurs. A good entrepreneur would be carrying a first aid kit.

    • Hahaha very true very true. Things have definitely changed. I’m old school as well – Looking for some chivalry! Haha Hugs and love xox

      • Those ladies were legitimate angels. And the fact that they had all the necessary first air stuff right there ready to go, and that there was no one in the store – God’s Hand!!

  15. This is hysterical!

Caralyn, I don’t know how your date went (not my business), but in the spirit of “Find Yourself a Guy Who…”, find yourself a guy who doesn’t mind your lateness, thinks your story is the most awesome thing ever, asks if you took a picture of the wound so he can see it, and then offers more than once to drive you to urgent care if you need it.

(He should be a Christian, too, but the above is non-negotiable IMHO.)

    • Hey Brandon, hahahahha oh my gosh this gave me a good laugh! Great great points. Yeah Christian is a nonnegotiable in my book too πŸ™‚ thanks for the kind words. Definitely took wound pics – but have only been sending them to my dad and brother – he’s a doctor haha Hugs and love xox

  16. Did your date understand why you were late?

And as for embarrassing date.. I don’t have a story. But I accidentally texted my guy friend, who I worked with and was on a trip with his brother, that my day got worse at work because I started my period. He replied and said oh I’m sorry. And then I realized I texted him and not my husband. Oh man, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

  17. I am on eof those guys who would have been non-plussed by your late arrival and more concerned with your well-being. The people at Dunkin’ Donuts were indeed angels. I’m glad you got through the night. Yes, this run-up to Christmas indeed brings opportunities to be generous with time and money. I am glad I currently have sufficient amounts of both, to help those in genuine need, whilst avoiding the scammers.

    • Thank you friend. Yeah angels for sure! That’s so awesome – yeah this is the most beautiful time of the year for that very reason! Hugs and love xox

  18. I trust your hand is better. We never can understand why things happen but that’s where trust and faith come in. Yes, this is a season for giving as God gave the greatest gift – not just in a season but year-round. Thanks for the reminders. I trust you and your readers have a wonderful, safe, peaceful, joyful and love-filled Christmas and holiday.

    • Thanks Ron, it’s actually still pretty banged up. Changing the dressing 3x a day still. It was a bad gash. You’re right about that – the greatest gift. Thanks friend for your kind words. Same to you! Hugs and love xox

      • I imagine it’ll be sore a few days. I’m glad you were able to complete your mission on the date. You’re a trooper! Well done! Hugs and love as well. πŸ™‚

      • Thanks πŸ™‚ oh yeah – didn’t stop me from dancin! Haha Hugs and love xox

    • Thanks friend – oh gosh don’t feel bad at all! I’m laughing right there with ya! Haha and OH MY GOSH! That is so scary!!! We’re you okay?! That is honestly my worst nightmare! Hugs and love xox

  19. Hey Caralyn: so glad you are mending. What I cannot figure out, is why the Uber driver would not help you. He must have known your anguish, it was his door your finger was caught in. The angels were working the right shift at DD anyway. Wonder why they were the ones working.πŸ˜‡πŸ˜€
Hope you were able to eat once you got to the restaurant, and that the meal and company were super.
    God Bless you Good Friend.
    Luv,
    πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸŒΉπŸ˜˜

    • Hey George! Thank you so much πŸ™‚ Yeah I know – Uber drivers in NYC are in another league…ALL business. They don’t talk to you, they’re just point a to point b. Those women really were angels! God played a hand in that for sure!!! so glad you stopped by πŸ™‚ hugs xx

  20. Well, on my first “date,” (which, I almost feel like first date can’t even be categorized as such, but, anyway) I had to reschedule it to an hour later, because I was working on my car with my dad. Then, when I was cleaning up to go, I noticed my hair smelled like antifreeze, because I had accidentally rolled around in the stuff, and I didn’t have time to shower, so I used perfume on my hair… Also, I didn’t tell my family that I was kind of on a date, and I lost track of time, so I didn’t make it to my parent’s house for family Christmas. Thankfully, we were able to reschedule to the next day (uh, yesterday), but, still, that was a whole lot of awkward/interesting things all at once. But, no blood gushing out of my hands, thankfully. Instead, they just looked like a grease monkey’s hands, and they are also super dry. Girl, I feel that part of your pain, at least. πŸ˜‰

    • Hi Sarah Jo! Antifreeze!! oh no!!! What a story! I just have to say, it’s super cool that you were working on your car – that is a skill i wish i possessed! I’m sure your date was super impressed by that!!! glad it all ended up working out! πŸ™‚ hugs xox

  21. Caralyn, your post was certainly eye catching. Trust your hand will heal. The ladies at Dunkin Donuts sound so precious. I am sure you made an impression on your date. Love and hugs!

    • Thank you so much πŸ™‚ yes it is healing slowly but surely. Thank you friend. Those ladies were the most precious πŸ™‚ so glad you stopped by! Hugs and love xox

  22. I’m so glad your angels were there for you. My first date and first kiss was almost fifty years ago. And more laughable.
I went out with a guy that I met on my first job. He took me out and spent the entire date telling me how much he still loved his old girlfriend. I could tell he was miserable and told him to go down to D.C. and tell her. Then came the kiss on the front porch when he brought me home. My neighbor was walking his poodle, Jo Jo, and stood on the sidewalk, clapping.
Fast forward several years. I was married and a mom with a seven month old baby boy. I was in the front seat of our car, while my husband and I were going to sign a lease on an apartment.
My son had just gotten sick all over my shirt. We stopped at a light, and guess who was in the car next to us: Mr. First Date! He looked at me. I looked at him. The light changed and I never saw him again. But, I did wonder if he married his old girlfriend.
First dates are a roll of the dice. Don’t lose your sense of humor. 😊❀

  23. Glad you are ok and hopefully your date could clearly see this wasn’t just late for no reason? If he hold that against you, I’d say your hand injury may have been Divine intervention saving you from going any further. Hopefully his response was first concern and then second props for you getting it under control and still soldiering on to show up to explain in person, injured hand and all! That’s wife and mom material there if you ask me! Kudos! πŸ¦„πŸ’πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

    • Thank you so much! Hahah what a kind thing to say πŸ™‚ yeah definitely kicked things off memorably! Haha Hugs and love xox

    • Hi Paola! Aw thank you so much for your concern. Yeah – quite a head spinner. Hugs and love xox

  24. The tests and challenges that come to a person from the Almighty are so concealed and subtle the person being tested usually does not feel what is happening to him is a test. If he is aware it is just a test, he would definitely be able to withstand the difficulties and rise to the challenge, but then the test would not be a real test. Therefore, tests are concealed in such a manner that a person thinks they are merely obstacles and nuisances. A person who withstands such tests is truly elevated.

  25. BBB! Thank you for sharing the Dunkin Donut Bloody Massacre story! May you be extra blessed this Christmas Season with generosity, love and grace! Merry Christmas!!

    • Hahaha the dunkin donut bloody massacre! Hahahah that made me laugh out loud! Thanks for your kind words. Same to you my friend! Hugs and love xox

    • Ah yes – they really were. Praise God for putting them in my path that night! Hugs and love xox

  26. I hope your hand heals quickly and with no complications! So glad you were able to find help πŸ™‚ And like lots of others have said, his reaction to what happened tells a lot about him as a person. Keep your eyes wide open and pray πŸ™‚ God Bless!!

    • Thank you so much! I think I avoided an infection so praise God for that! Healing slowly but steadily. Thanks for the encouraging words! Hugs and love xox

    • Aw you’re so sweet to ask! It’s doing better- slowly but surely!! Thanks friend, me too! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you friend! It’s so true! And very hard to heal since you’re always bending them inadvertently! Hugs and love xox

  27. I feel terrible for laughing. But, this story is one for the ages! I’m so glad those mothers helped you out!!

I can’t say I’ve had an embarrassing date. Plenty of embarrassing moments, though! I do remember being incredibly nervous for my first date with Al in September 2010, so much so that I literally changed clothes more than once. My anxiety was through the roof! My mom and one of our neighbors were so gracious to help me pick something out, and apparently it worked! I felt so good in that outfit that I wore it nearly every month afterward, on the 4th, to celebrate that first date. It seems silly, but being long-distance with Al for nearly the first year of our relationship, it made me feel better (I was starting my senior year of college when we started dating). I outgrew everything eventually, but seeing those pictures on Facebook makes me smile!

  28. Hi, thanks for liking my blog post. I hope you will be back, we have something in common. I enjoyed this one of yours. Maybe God wanted you to slow things down a bit with the new man.

A funny first date story. We decided to go to a restaurant that was far away from his clients’ stomping grounds. Lo and behold, one client was in the very next booth with his children! We’ve been married more than 16 years.
    Cath, from Australia.

    • Thanks so much cath! Oh my goodness what a story! Thanks for sharing that! And congrats on 16 years! That’s really something to celebrate! Hugs and love xox

  29. Oh, I’m so glad they stepped in to help you. What did your date say after you told him what happened?
This morning I posted on Facebook about finding other ways to give back this holiday season besides buying gifts. Great story! I’m glad you’re doing much better, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to post. πŸ˜† ☺️

    • Hey friend!! Yeah those two ladies were absolute angels. I really down played it in the moment haha awesome! Can’t wait to check out your fb post! Hugs to you!! Xox

    • Thank you so much Melissa!! Amen to that – THANK YOU ANGELS!!! Same to you my dear friend. Hugs and love xox

  30. Also, what a story, especially the Dunkin’ Donuts-as-Jerusalem part … not sure I’ve heard it described that way, and I live in Dunkinland (aka Massachusetts)!

  31. I’m so happy you found a dunkin donuts and those 2 nice ladies helped you! That is just awful. I hope your date went well. I hope he understood why you were late. If not, he’s not a keeper. I don’t think that was embarrassing more so just awful. I’m glad you’re okay! πŸŽ„πŸŽβ„πŸ’•πŸŒ·πŸ˜πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

  32. The kindness of strangers is just amazing. I manage to fall over with alarming regularity and due to lack of muscle strength in my legs, can’t get myself up. Last time it happened a young man driving past saw me struggling and stopped to help me up. He waited until I was steady enough to get home. There are far, far more compassionate people out there than we think!

Hope date 3 is less traumatic for you Caralyn!

    Gill x

    • Thanks friend! Yeah it was a pretty wild situation! Thank goodness for those angels on earth!! That’s a great idea. Hugs and love xox

  33. There really are a lot of helpful people out there and I’m glad God led you to a couple of them! You asked for an embarrassing date story, mine is short, walked into the restaurant on a blind date, a very beautiful young woman was waiting. When she saw me she said, ‘You’re my date?’, quite loud, then she laughed and walked out. Haven’t been on a date since! Rough at the time but I can laugh now. Always look forward to your posts, God bless and Merry Christmas!!
    Steve.

    • Thanks Steve. God really provided for me that night! Oh you’re kidding!! Oh my gosh that’s not nice! What a rude woman. I’m so sorry she said that to you. Not. Cool. Merry Christmas friend. Hugs and love xox

      • If a girl showed up to a date with me with a gaping wound on her hand. I would think she’s the baddest bitch on this planet.

      • Hahaha oh gosh that’s kind of you to say. Thank you πŸ™‚ Hugs and love xox

  34. Always liked Dunkin Donuts. Unfortunately, they are few and far between in LA. I have settled on getting coffee at Starbucks. Great customer service. There’s a Starbucks at our supermarket. They always know what I usually order. No chocolate donuts though.

    • Thanks Joe. Yeah DDs are all OVER nyc. Rivaling Starbucks in frequency, truly! Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

  35. That’s the sort of thing you don’t need an a date, or any other time. It’s great you were helped though. I hope you’re well and have a great Christmas πŸ™‚ xo

  36. Well that sure trumps my story of breaking my little toe just hours before taking that long journey back half way around the world and finding I had to race between terminals in Chicago to make the onward connection. Or breaking my arm doing a good deed for my Mom up on a ladder in an awkward spot just before my flight across the Pacific from Australia to the US to speak at my daughter’s grad ceremony. πŸ™‚ I think your experience was much worse.

  37. The East Village? Humm. I’ve been toying with driving to NYC to visit my thoughtless, alcoholic aunt for Christmas, but she hurt me badly so it’s probably better to sit in my apartment all alone on Christmas day, just like I did last year, πŸ™

    • Oh Michael, I’m sorry to hear that. Christmas is always a great season to put differences aside and mend and heal πŸ™‚ i hope you do. hugs to you my dear friend. merry christmas.

  38. Glad your finger wasn’t broken. Praise the Lord for that. What happened to your finger was horrible but you made this story so hilarious. I also have extremely dry skin. My skin pretty much drinks lotion. There should be some kind of support group for us. Lol.

Praise God for His faithfullness. God bless those women. Did you ever go somewhere to get it checked out later?

    • Thank you so much SLR. Yes! Amen for His faithfulness πŸ™‚ i didn’t. Just let it heal. Still healing. My brother looked at it. He’s a doctor haha Hugs and love xox

  40. Ok, i get that after all the scare and the bleeding and patching it sounds like an awful date. But I don’t get why you did not go on another date with the guy. πŸ€”
