Praying Outside Planned Parenthood: and the Spiritual Warfare that Followed

Well, well, well. Pour yourself a glass of wine, put your feet up and gather ’round, friends, because boy, do I have a story for you tonight.

I did something I’ve never done before, this weekend. In fact, I’m not exactly sure what came over me, but let’s just say I was moved by the Spirit.

I went to Planned Parenthood on Saturday and prayed.

Now, let’s just pause here for a moment. I wasn’t carrying a sign with a bloody baby on it, aggressively accosting people in the name of Jesus. I wasn’t causing a scene with a megaphone. I just got dressed up in a cute outfit and heels, and simply stood across the street, and silently prayed my rosary. By myself. I was the only one there.

As you read last week, I went and saw the phenomenal ProLife movie, Unplanned, and it moved my heart so much that I felt the need to act for the sake of those babies.

And so, Saturday came, and I had just gotten home from a jog. I was taking a shower, and all of a sudden, I just felt this overwhelming need to go and pray at the Planned Parenthood in NYC.

If you didn’t know, Saturdays are notoriously The Day when they do the most abortions at Planned Parenthood. And I knew I had to go.

And it was honestly the most surreal experience.

First of all, it was the first nice Saturday we’ve had since spring began. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky – it was warm. And it was as though everyone and their brother was out from hibernation that afternoon.

When my Uber pulled up to the Planned Parenthood, I was shocked…(but upon second thought, completely not shocked) that the clinic was smack dab in the heart of NYU’s campus. Which made me sick to my stomach.

But it was just so surreal. I was surrounded by brunch go’ers, and SoHo shoppers, and gaggles of bar crawlers – still tipsy from their mimosas, and right in the midst of this luxury lifestyle in Manhattan, is this building of darkness, where babies were being murdered right now, amidst the bustling, jovial life, just right outside.

It was mindblowing, actually. And in the window of one of the exam rooms, was the sign that read “Black Women Matter.” How ironic, given the history of Planned Parenthood. I won’t go into that here — but you should Google the TRUE origin of the organization, and particularly why they chose the locations they did for most – if not all – of their clinics.

But boy – putting myself out there for God that day…two things happened. And the second — let’s just say I was NOT prepared for.

First, the Holy Spirit really showed up for me.

I hadn’t even been on the sidewalk for 15 seconds when all of a sudden I hear…”Caralyn?!

I look around like — God, is that You?

Doing God’s work I see.”

And much to my surprise, I run into this guy I hadn’t seen in – no joke, probably 4 years. We went to the same church, and had been out on a few dates long ago. He was literally, just randomly walking by, on his way to brunch of all things.

Anyway, he totally boosted my confidence, and even gave me a few tips – saying that I actually had to be on the other side of the street, because they “owned” the sidewalk in front of the building.

And if that wasn’t God giving me reassurance — not 30 seconds after he left, another couple – super cute, probably mid twenties – randomly passed me on the street and said “God bless you! We were here earlier today, praying.”

So I was feeling really comforted that God was with me.

But, friends, the day was not all like that. And honestly, I think God did that, because He knew what would come later that day.

I got dirty looks. I got whispers and laughs. I got some crunchy feminists who got up in my face and in the meanest, most spine chilling voices said, “F%@K YOU.

But then, I expected that going in.

I saw the women leaving the clinic, walking gingerly, clutching their lower abdomens. I saw the boyfriends, pacing awkwardly outside. I saw the scared girls go in, and leave with a bag of pills. I saw workers leave at closing time, and mutter mean nothings to me under their breath. I saw the “doctor” leave that night, and I said an extra prayer for the conversion of his heart.

But the hardest thing I saw that day, was the “Quest Diagnostics” truck come and pick up the bio-hazard “waste” from the clinic. Which, if you are unaware — are the bodies of the aborted children. I wanted to ask to pray over the bags they brought out, but I wasn’t fast – or bold – enough. Next time I will.

But here’s where things get real.

I really pissed off Satan that day. Which – I always feel weird about mentioning the “evil one” on here, but look: This is who I am, this is what I believe, and I absolutely believe that spiritual warfare is real. Why? Because not only do I believe that my anorexia was a huge episode of spiritual warfare, but listen to what happened next…

After the day was done, I turned to leave. And I was walking down the street. And I kid you not – I hadn’t even gotten off the block that Planned Parenthood was on, when a bird attacked my face.

In nine years of living in New York City, this has NEVER happened to me before. I was walking, and out of nowhere, this disgusting pigeon nosedived straight at my head. And I was wearing my signature sun hat, because — hello, skincare — and the bird got caught in my hair and then couldn’t fly away because of the brim of my hat. And the bird was flapping and freaking out, and I was screaming and freaking out. Finally it flew off and I was left absolutely shaken up and DISGUSTED that a freaking disease-carrying, repulsive BIRD just practically got in my mouth.

So I’m like standing there, practically in tears, and this whole scene happened right in front of a homeless man, who was sitting on the sidewalk, shaking his cup, asking for money. And he laughs at me, and goes, “HAH! THAT BIRD HAD IT OUT FOR YOU, YOUNG LADY.” You can’t make this stuff up.

I’m shaking at this point. I call my dad in tears and tell him what happened as I’m hailing a cab so I can go home, burn those clothes, drink hand sanitizer and shower away all the diseases that were surely inside every orifice from the neck-up.

And as I’m word-vomiting to my father, the first thing he says to me is, “You know, that was Satan.

And you know what? He was absolutely right.

There is nothing Satan loves more than abortion.

Honestly – think about it. It is the single most divisive issue facing human kind. But more than that – it turns the human — the creation and image of God – against itself. It’s killing innocent children, and it’s devaluing the sanctity of human life. And people are adamantly fighting for it in the name of “women’s rights.”

Satan is having a field day with it. Because once you dehumanize a life – once you “sanitize” the killing of a child in the womb – once you decide that you can determine who lives and who dies, and what constitutes a life worth living, the slope becomes slippery and treacherous, and leads straight into Satan’s open arms.

And you best believe that he’s going to send flames, arrows, – even birds – at anyone who stands in his way.

And I experienced that first hand.

But that is ALL THE MORE reason to continue to stand in the gap for those babies. And that just tells me that I’m doing something right.

At the end of our lives, we’re going to have to face our Creator. And I pray that when I do, after I stand accountable for all the despicable and deplorable crap I have done in my life, I can at least say that I fought for the smallest and most helpless of His children.

What are your thoughts on spiritual warfare? Truly I would love to know. Please share any and all thoughts!!

  1. When I saw the title of this post, I thought of the movie Unplanned. Then I realized that you mentioned it. That movie was really sad but honestly award winning. I never knew what really took place in Planned Parenthood. Thank you for sharing this post. I hope that the workers eyes will begin to open. Every seed is precious. Every life matters.

  2. Keep fighting to the good fight! 🙂 Proud of you for doing this. 🙂

There is a PP not far from where I used to live and I would have to drive by it every day. And PP’s marketing is too slick; it looks just like any other office in a little strip mall. Yet death is dealt out there. 🙁

BTW, I’ve been bird bombed once or twice in Chicago… on the way to church. Having goop in your hair and on the back of the sweater is not a good way to start a Sunday morning. LOL.

    • Thanks so much for your support, friend! Too slick indeed. Oh man, that’s the worst!! Ick! Hugs and love xox

  3. Hey I love it… I love pissing satan off and I will be praying for you. You are right that satan loves abortions because it is the act against the first commandment God gave to us “Be fruitful and multiply”…… So he (satan) enjoys going against everything God says, but glory be to God that we have insight into satan’s tactics and we will fight that spiritual warfare because we know we won already.
    God bless you

    • Thanks so much for your support! You’re right about that!! Hugs and love xox

  4. I really enjoyed your story today! I was moved when you said “I really pissed off Satan that day.” I pray we can all do what you did 🙂 God bless!

  5. Honestly, that just brought me to tears! God bless you! God be with you (which He is)! God protect you and give you ever-increasing strength! Be encouraged by the Spirit and have courage to engage in the warfare!

My wife and I went on a date the other night and saw “Unplanned.” I’m happy it had such an impact on you. Yes, Satan is not a happy camper right now.

    • Thanks so much Anthony! That seriously means so much!! Wasn’t it a phenomenal movie?! Hugs and love xox

  6. Spiritual Warfare is very real. I absolutely love what you did Caralyn, a true warrior for Christ. I totally agree with your dad about the bird, he is a wise man. I am not surprised about the location of this horrid place, it’s “within the walls”, in the middle of those who wish to nurture the evil it represents. May God bless you and your family deeply. ☺️🙏🏻✝️

    • Thanks so much John – you’re so right about that. Very real. Really appreciate your support! Hugs and love xox

  7. I am an atheist and strongly pro-choice, but I think your form of protest is a model that all those expressing their spiritual beliefs against abortion would do well to follow.

  8. Spiritual warfare is real. It’s dangerous. I’m glad you are ok. Keep praying for protection. Pray to Mary. Next time, don’t pray alone. Safety in numbers physically AND spiritually.

    • You’re so right about that. Thank you Melissa for your kind words. Hugs and love xox

  9. Very courageous of you to pray outside Planned Parenthood! Spiritual warfare is very real. And yes, the Evil One does love abortion. He also loves when people don’t believe he’s real because they don’t fight against him. Crazy about the bird… If you plan to go there again, I suggest praying spiritual protection/deliverance prayers and using holy water and other sacramentals to protect yourself. May the Lord continue to bless you!

    • Thank you so much Terese for your encouraging words! That’s so true – his greatest victory was getting people to believe he wasn’t real. Hugs and love xox

      • Hey Caralyn,
I have been out there in front of those death places myself its heart wrenching. Came close to getting arrested in Cleveland, Ohio in front of one. Praying is awesome and most important, also if you see a girl going into the death place try to talk to her calmly if you can. Bring a picture of a ultra sound to show them what a baby looks like in the womb. If you show them a picture it might change thier minds. Satan is defeated Jesus stripped him of his power and whipped up on him. He is afraid of believers who exercise thier power over him in Jesus name. Learn to ignore him he’s a toothless tiger!!! Stay strong keep obeying God!!!

      • Hi Ricardo, thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. A toothless tiger — isn’t that the truth! thanks for your support and for standing in the gap! hugs ox

  10. Wow Caralyn! I totally agree this was the enemy and spiritual warfare. My wife is involved in a prayer healing ministry that often works with SRA victims, it is horrific as well. I think abortion is part of that and we as a culture are becoming more and more desensitized to it all. Just scroll the channels on tv and all the crap that makes us not even feel for the least of these. If that is the new normal I for one want nothing to do with it. God bless you and praying God’s covering and protection as well as His strength for you!

    • Thank you so much Mark for your kind words and prayers. That seriously means so much. And wow – that is just incredible the work your wife is doing praying for her ministry! Hugs and love xox

  11. Powerful story! Not much I can say. The bird part was comic relief in the grand scope of things. But yay you for following the Spirit.

  12. I believe the war is real. A big reason why society is in its current sad shape is that far too many “Christians” have been unwilling to get their hands dirty and engage the enemy. Far too many think they are doing their part by sitting in a pew for an hour or so each weekend, and not even thinking about darkening a church door until the next weekend. If, by and through God’s graces, the vices of laziness and sloth can be eliminated within the church, Satan can be sent packing.

But we must stand as one, not arguing among ourselves, but uniting against the one who has always been the common enemy. Cardinal Robert Sarah said this past week that western society doesn’t pray nearly enough. Heartfelt prayer, and actions such as yours, will knock the grin off Satan’s face. — Mike

    • Thanks so much Greg! It really is. Thanks for your encouragement. Hugs and love xox

  13. I am glad that the bird did not harm you bad. You are an amazing lady. I know that I have said that many times, but you flat out amaze me. You did a bold but great thing. It will pay off. How? Time will tell. I myself am fighting major battles mainly with my main job with similar kinds of people so I understand how it feels to be mocked.

Oh, I did see Unplanned over the weekend, and I believe that it is a movie everyone must see.

  14. I really like your approach in going to pray there. We must care about and respect people. People out there took note of you. Your willingness to face persecution is just what Jesus did.

  15. you’re prayers obviously changed someone that day, and evil was not happy with you. Keep going back you made a difference in someone who is struggling with right and wrong

    • Thank you so much Alice – I pray that is the case. I will definitely be back. God is good! thank you for your encouragement! hugs xo

  16. The Lord was really using you and He was with you in the power of the Holy Spirit! Crazy pigeons! I have been attacked by Robins about 4 or 5 times in my life. That was definitely an attack as were the cussing girls. I had a guy cuss at me at a gas station when God was calling me to write for Him, then shortly after that another guy drove by my house and cussed at me. It was very strange. When we choose to follow Jesus and truly live for Him, we will experience resistance for sure. Praise God we are covered by His Holy blood and we have the victory in Him! God bless you sister!

    • Oh my goodness, thank you so much Ryan, for your encouragement, indeed. Crazy pigeons indeed! Oh my gosh, i’m so sorry you experienced that. amen – praise God!! hugs ox

      • Amen, praise God! P.S. I just wrote a post tonight and I talked about your post here. I also put a link to it. It got me thinking about that day, so I added the warning I wrote to my neighbors on Nextdoor the day after it happened. I pray the post is a blessing to you! 🙂 God bless!

      • Thank you so much Ryan! And wow that’s awesome!! I am so honored that you would talk about it on your blog!! Thanks! Hugs and love xox

  17. Ok—you and I HAVE to talk!! Something DEFINITELY is “going on” spiritually, THAT I can guarantee you! I wasn’t even done halfway through your blog, and I was amazed after what I just wrote in MY blog last night!! May God bless you for your BOLDNESS, sister, and not backing down! And YES, that WAS a satanic attack; don’t allow anyone to tell you different! I deal with Spiritual Warfare more than I’d like to, but it wasn’t up to me to have the “job”🙄; that was all HIS✝️ doing…I’ll email you. You’re on my Prayer list!!🙏🏼💜

    • oh my gosh, God is so good. Thank you so much Nett 🙂 Thank you for your prayers – I’m sorry that this hits so close to home for you. I look forward to your email! hugs and love xox

  18. Caralyn! You are one of my favorite young adults. I admire your courage so very much. I absolutely love your knowledge and devotion to our Catholic faith and I’ve shared your blog with my own young adult daughters.

Today I was at the biggest abortion facility in the western hemisphere. Yep, Planned Parenthood in Houston, TX. I’ve been sidewalk counseling there for years. I am so stinkin’ proud of you for that very brave “yes” to the Holy Spirit. When I’m at PP, I hold and pray my rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at all times. Ask for God’s Holy Angels and saints to be with you. PP in NYC is probably more hostile than Houston, so taking a friend is a great idea, as Melissa Bishop said above. I imagine there is a spiritual battle over the lives at PP every day. You were at the front line of the battle. God bless you.

    • Oh my gosh, thank you Peggy! i am so touched by your kind words! And thank you for passing this along to your daughters!! that means the absolute world. Oh wow that’s amazing – keep up God’s work!! You’re right – it is a battle out there. hugs and love xox

  19. You bring tears to my eyes. I’m very proud of you. Thank you for taking a stand. This war is very real. It is raging all around us. But until you step in and take a stand against Satan, he will lull you into thinking that there is no war. Once you start to oppose him, you find out in a hurry just how serious he is about this battle. He knows he’s going to lose, but he will take as many down with him as he possibly can. Again, thank for standing for right and truth. You are loved and supported in your efforts.

    • Hi Don, thank you so much for your support and encouragement. it seriously means so much. You’re right about that – it is a battle indeed. hugs and love xox

  20. YOU are the bird flapping around in Satan’s face. (But a far cleaner species…I’ll let you pick your favorite.)

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the forces of Hades will not overpower it.” (Matthew 16:18)

    • haha Oh my gosh I absolutely LOVE that thought!! thank you for the powerful verse too! big hugs to you, Brandon! xox

  21. Good for you Caralyn for taking a stand! I’m so proud of you. Spiritual Warfare is very real! I’ve experienced it! Keep fighting the good fight and stay true to yourself and continue honoring God.

    • I pray that that is the case. I think adoption is the most beautiful gift in the entire world. big hugs ox

      • I’ve adopted two. It is really a gymnastics test mixed with juggling fire sticks. But it’s the best thing one can do for another human. You probably can guess my answer about prayer..hehe.

  22. Hi! As a fellow Christian, I never believe in tearing down others, but I was called to do this right here. I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of the difference between “bias” and “science”. The new movie “Unplanned”, is a classic case of Christian fundamentalist bias. However, you must consider the scientific facts that follow the film… oh wait! There isn’t any legitimacy in it! Normally when a standard abortion is performed, the fetus is not even alive. When abortions go late to term, which they do rarely do, it is the case of life or death. Either the mother will die birthing the fetus OR the fetus is so medically challenged, it will be living a god awful, miserable life. I think your move of a so-called silent protest is what God would want in an act of protest, not the normal chaotic scenes that find their ways in front of Planned Parenthood. Except, I don’t think you should be protesting at all. Planned Parenthood does oh so much more than abortions. They provide sexual education, contraceptives, STD testing, cancer screenings, and general female health care. They do exactly what the name says: prepare women for a Planned Parenthood. I believe that if you are against abortions because of the “murder of babies”, that’s not even the murder of babies, all of your children better be from foster care. If you truly care about the sanctity of life, save a child from the obscenities of the horrid foster care system. Have a wonderful evening and may God help you.

    • Thank you so much for joining the conversation and sharing your opinions. I agree that providing free health care to women is a beautiful thing. But PP is undeniably an abortion provider through and through. This comes down to when a life becomes a life, and I am a staunch believer that life begins at the moment of conception. Therefore, any abortion at any time is the killing of a life. That is my belief. I respect that other people may feel differently, but after prayer and research, that is where I stand. And so my actions will defend that. Thank you again for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

      • I rebuke the comments of “g” above, in the Name of Jesus of Nazareth. Since “g” claims to be a Christian, I would like to see some Scriptural references, and backing for the comments made.

God is the Creator and Giver of life Sir. Who is man to destroy a person God as created, to destroy a human in the womb, whom God has plans for, and whose days are ordained by God since conception.

        Psalms 139:13
        13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

        Psalms 139:16
        16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
        —————

Caralyn: thank you, and God Bless you for Strongly, and Boldly, standing for what is right, and not backing down. You took the Spirit of God into the enemy’s camp, playground, workplace.

        1 John 4:4
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

You were glorifying our Creator, King of kings, Lord of lords, the Majestic One, in a way honouring to God, in a place where all could see you, without you being there to attract attention to yourself.
I know God will honour you, and the enemy will be after you.
Continuing to pray the Armour Of God on you Caralyn, with the Blood of Jesus covering you, and a Hedge Of Protection around you.
I admire you Precious Sister in Christ, a Beautiful role model.

God Bless you, and keep you close to Himself, and Safe.
        Luv, 😀❤️🌹😘

    • I felt the need to respond, mostly because you said you are a Christian. As Christians, we cannot support abortion at any stage. The information you shared about abortion is simply not true. Doctors have explained there is never a case where a child must be aborted to save the mother’s life. If the mother’s life is at risk, the child would be delivered early. Also, as Christians we believe that every person is made in the image and likeness of God and deserves to have a life, even babies who may have disabilities or medical conditions that could make life difficult. We are not God and cannot choose which children will live and which will die. Yes, the foster system is run terribly and must be amended, but that’s a different issue. Planned Parenthood relies on abortions and must fulfill certain quotas. There was even a clinic that was falsely telling women they were pregnant and encouraging them to have abortions just to receive funding. There’s so much evil there. I pray you will see the truth…

    • G,

Even though PP is providing some good female healthcare, it’s unfortunate and, quite frankly, wrong, that it comes at the expense of unborn babies. Abortions are what pays the bills. And you say that these abortions happen when “the fetus is not even alive.” What constitutes being alive? How are we to substantiate the fetus – that is growing, changing, moving, wiggling – isn’t “alive?”

    • ‘g’, you are simply repeating leftist talking points here. The only reason ‘fetuses’ are dead when the abortion begins is because earlier in the procedure, they have been poisoned or burned by chemicals prior to tearing the body apart to remove it. The scientific fact, repeated by many OBGYN physicians is that there is no such thing as the choice between the mother’s life and the babies’ life. “As an OB/GYN physician for 31 years, there is no medical situation that requires aborting/killing the baby in the third trimester to ‘save the mother’s life,’” Koning wrote on social media after the debate. “Just deliver the baby by C-section and the baby has 95+% survival with readily available NICU care even at 28 weeks. C-section is quicker and safer than partial birth abortion for the mother.” https://www.lifenews.com/2016/10/24/hillary-clinton-is-wrong-obgyn-says-abortion-is-never-necessary-to-save-the-life-of-the-mother/

  23. First, thank you for DOING that! Second, thank you for SHARING that! I often say that prayer is too often the option of last resort when it should be first. Not that I’m good at doing that, but when I write, it’s often to myself anyway. THANK YOU for demonstrating the truth of it. The bird? This wasn’t a movie, and Hitchcock is dead, so, yeah, I agree with your dad. That was a little payback for putting a spiritual hurting on the PP sidewalk that day.

God plans things. You reminded me of an incident several weeks ago where I know beyond a doubt that God used me to help someone. I was in north central Oklahoma in a town that was a suburb of Nowhere. Circumstances about how long it took me to decide where to eat and the choice itself dictated the timing. I set my GPS to find the next day’s appointment, which would make Nowhere look like a buzzing metropolis. Dirt roads all the way. I was surprised my GPS even had the roads!

So I make a left from one dusty trail to another, and there’s an older lady checking out the shredded LF tire on her pickup. I stopped to ask if she needed a lift. Yes, she and her legally blind brother-in-law had just blown their tire minutes before and were stranded.

I NEVER check a location a day in advance, but I did that evening. Just as God directed people your way that day, He directs us all to the good deeds Paul tells He has planned in advance for us to do.

    • Thank you Jeff!! I can always count on your for genuine encouragement and support and for bag i am so grateful.

Totally the bird was his payback. But you know what – ain’t no bird gonna keep me away!! What a beautiful story. Thank you so much for sharing that. God is incredible isn’t He?!! Amen amen amen. Thanks for stopping by Jeff. Hope you and Julie are having a great week so far! Hugs and love xox

  24. I learned this weekend about the Ignatian concept of Agere Contra, or Acting Against. The example I heard was that, for a group of men struggling with sins of purity, they would go pray outside a strip club on a regular basis. It’s a powerful way of acting against our baser instincts, it takes us outside ourselves.

We, as lovers of life, hate abortion. HATE it. But you acted against that hate. You acted with Love for your neighbors. For the healing of sins and suffering, for sinners and sufferers.

    God Bless you.

    • Oh wow I have never heard of that concept before, but wow is it powerful. Thanks for your spport. hugs xo

  25. Yes, spiritual warfare is not only a reality, it comes in many forms. You were standing in the face of the adversary with his most feared weapon pointed toward him…prayer. Next time, stop and remind him of his most certain future (The lake of fire.) and WHO will toss him there. Literally, say it aloud into the air. You, as a child of the Father, have dominion through the Holy Spirit inside you. Proud of you and your stand. – Alan

    • Amen to that!! Thank you so much Alan, what a powerful idea!!! I appreciate the encouragement. hugs xo

  26. Wow, thank you for sharing your story. Sounds like you stepped out in faith and did a hard thing that normally you might not have. Would you ever go back there and after having people praying for your time and praying yourself beforehand, engage people in conversations and tangibly make a loving connection with them. So often we have these issues that we fight for or against, but rarely do we actually engage with others and see where they are coming from, too little do we stay silent when maybe one of those boys/men pacing, needed someone to listen to them and their story, or maybe one of the girls/women who went in, was desperately hoping that someone might stop them or provide a caring ear to listen.

    • Hi Nathalie, thank you so much for your encouraging words and support. Absolutely – you bring up such an important point – a loving connection. We are not called to judge or condemn or even think less of. That’s not our place. our place is to love. and that is the mission of going there to pray. thats such a great thought, thank you!! hugs xo

  27. Amazing story! You are so brave and a beautiful soul. I truly admire your courage and hope I can one day soon I work up the courage to do the same thing. I’ve been wanting to see that movie, too! I truly love reading all of your blog posts, and between anorexia, acting, blogging, and Catholicism, I really feel such a connection with everything you write. Keep sharing – the world needs to hear your voice!♥️♥️

    • Thank you so much friend! Gosh, i am so touched by your encouraging words. I’m so glad you’re enjoying your time here in my little dusty corner of the interwebs 🙂 hehe hugs xo

  28. Hey there, when you have a chance, email me at newlifenett7@gmail.com. Don’t know how to personally get in touch with you. Again, you’re a brave woman. And this really encouraged me after what happened to me a few days ago! The Lord has your back! Be blessed!!

    • Hi Jess, thank you so much for your kind words of encouragment. it seriously means so much! big big hugs to you xox

  29. I love all your Catholic posts as you are so on fire for God, but this one really hit home. I would like to affirm you for being a voice for the pro-life, for the aborted babies, and you inspire me in the way you seek God in all things. You are the most inspiring Catholic blogger who is relatable, honest, fun, and we need more voice like you in social media!

    • Oh my gosh, thank you so much Teresalee, that seriously means so much. I am touched!!! big big hugs to you xox

  30. Chills! This 100% gave me chills… And honestly just when I thought I’d read your best writing, then I read this. So powerful. Thank you for your honesty, for listening to the Holy Spirit tell you pray, and for challenging us to pray as well. Abortion is so, SO sad; and this post just made that knowledge so real for me.

    • Hi Nicole! aw, thank you so much – I’m so glad it resonated with you!! 🙂 and gosh, what a kind thing to say 🙂 It really is such a devastating thing. But there is power in prayer! big hugs xx

  31. Praying for spiritual protection over you as you fight for the women, babies, and workers in the clinic.
I recently mapped out a prayer route in my city that passes by other places where there strongholds of darkness….the spiritual oppression is so evident.
Praise God that Jesus has defeated the enemy. That, in His name, demons must flee. Praise God for giving us the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God!
Praying that God brings just the right scripture to mind as you engage in this battle and, perhaps, just the right sister or brother in Christ to fight by your side.

    • Hi Doni, thank you so much for your prayers and encouragment. it really means the world. Wow – what a powerful thing to do. Amen! Jesus already won! hugs xo

  32. You did such a beautiful thing! I love the way you expressed what abortion really is: destroying God‘s most beautiful creation. You should check out:savethestorks.com. I support them. They change minds by providing a safe place for women to make an another choice. All the Lord’s blessings to you! Sandman

    • Hi Sandy! thank you so much for your words of encouragment. I will definitely check them out! what an important thing they are doing! big hugs to you, Sandman! xox

  33. Wow. What a powerful post. Thanks for the inspiring post. Thanks for making it public too. It’s stories like these that cause an uprising and difference in the world, not for ourselves but for God. Your doing great, warrior of God. Our fight is not against flesh and blood but against the evil powers and principalities of this world.

    • Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I pray that more people will feel the Spirit move them to do something for those babies!! big hugs to you xox

  34. Powerful, strong and courageous woman!. As I read about how much the enemy hates life, I felt compelled to compare this to the truth, unity brings life into the world and how much severed unity destroys life also. Keep writing and inspiring.

    • Hi Vonnie, thank you so much for your kind words. Amen – unity for sure! Big hugs xox

  35. In reading the account of creation in the first chapter of Genesis, only man is created in the image of God. Satan hates us simply because we are replicas of the One True God. He (Jesus) who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world. As a believer, you take the light of God wherever you go, which shines brighter wherever it is dark. Spiritual warfare comes in different forms so expect the unexpected whenever you stand up for what is right. And when you get knocked down (as we all do from time to time), dust yourself off and keep at it. Always appreciate your sincerity, honesty and integrity.

    • That is so true, Jan. Thank you so much for this. Amen! Dust off and keep at it!! Hugs and love xox

  36. Excellent post, Caralyn! You are very brave to pray outside their clinic! But I want to encourage you to see if you can find a like-minded friend to go with you next time. From one single woman to another, there’s both power and protection in numbers. 🙂

I agree that spiritual warfare is going on all around us. It’s often very subtle, so much so that many Christians I know discount the devil’s influence or even that he’s a real being who’s actively at work in our world. I think people think that his influence would be super obvious like presenting opportunities to steal, be violent, or out-right wrong your neighbor. But often he’s more sneaky than that… He doesn’t want us to know it’s him, otherwise, we’d easily escape. Instead, it’s like a little thought that we think comes from ourselves… “No one will know if I say I worked an extra 15 minutes on my time card even though I’d already left… Besides it’s been a long day and I’m sure others have done that anyway.” We rationalize it and compare ourselves to how we think others behave in order to make it “right.” But sin is sin.

And as for spiritual attacks, I agree that they can come in so many forms… Physical attacks, sickness, exhaustion, unexplainable situations or circumstances we find ourselves in or that happen to us.

There are definite battles going on right now and because we’re on the opposing team, we will experience persecution and difficulties. But the war has already been won and, lucky for us who follow Jesus, we’re on the winning side! So, no matter what this life throws at us, it is not even comparable to the joy and blessings we will experience when Christ is revealed!

Blessings to you sister and so glad to have found your blog! It’s been equally encouraging to me! 🙂

    • Hi friend, thank you so much for these powerful words of encouragement. You’re right – I should be with a buddy next time. Amen – Christ already won! What good news that is!! Big hugs to you xox

  37. Caralyn, that surely was some spiritual warfare going on there. So the evil one threw a bird at you? He is something else!
I have to admit, the way you told the story, the visuals in my head made me chuckle at the thought of you and the bird. But spiritually, I know it is a big deal.
You go girl! Keep doin’ what you are doin’!!
I am going to see that movie soon.

    • Thank you so much for your encouragement. Haha – yeah the bird was pretty dang crazy. And for a gal who *hates* washing her hair (it takes 2 hours to straighten it!!) I was *pretty dang ticked off* that I had to wash it TWICE that day! Haha but seriously thank you 🙂 Hugs and love xox

  38. My husband & I saw the movie Unplanned yesterday and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. After seeing the ugly truth of PP, I most definitely believe what you experienced was spiritual warfare. One of the scenes that really got me was the barrels… made me sick and broke my heart. I can’t imagine being a witness to it. Thank you for praying for these innocent souls. Your doing God’s work, and yes pissing Satan off – which means your presence & prayers had an impact. God Bless you 😇🙏🏼❤️

    • Isn’t it such a powerful film?! It really stays with you. Yeah I lost it in the theater when the barrels came out. Sobbing like a baby. So incredibly sad. Thank you for your much appreciated encouragement, Lisa. Big big hugs to you. And thank you for going to see the movie and supporting positive, life-affirming media. Hugs and love xox

  39. Great testimony! My church has a group that prays a “liturgy at the time of death for the preborn” outside the Planned Parenthood in Hempstead, LI on the first Saturday of every month. It combines some of the prayers from the funeral service with prayers to end abortion and for those who are deceived by Satan’s lies about the preborn. Yes, it can be a spiritual battle, but it is worth it.
Have you considered checking to find out if there is a prolife ministry in your parish (or another nearby church) committed to praying outside Planned Parenthood on a regular basis? Where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name….

    • Thank you so much Michael. Wow that’s awesome. You’re right – so worth it. That’s a great idea – I will definitely look into that! Hugs and love xox

  40. Agree spiritual warfare is alive and well – just like the protagonist (God) is for us the antagonist (Satan) is out to kill, deceive and destroy – I wrote a blog post after I saw the movie too https://bethechurch.home.blog/2019/04/06/unplanned/

How long have you been blogging and how ever did you build such a big following – well done – keep using your gift of words to inspire others to do something – thank for the reminder

    • Thank you so much 🙂 wasn’t it an incredible movie?! I look forward to reading your post! And thanks – I’ve been blogging for gosh probably three or four years?! Hugs and love xox

  41. I love your courage to speak on behalf of unborn babies and to fight for them through prayer. Such a powerful thing!

    • Thank you so much Kara – I really appreciate your support! Hugs and love xox

  42. Satan hates lives God makes because he is doomed to hell by his bad choices and wants to kill as many of us as he can on his way to hell. He knows God loves each and everyone of us that He created so lovingly. As such Satan wants to destroy us. He is evil. So this whole spiritual warfare is going on all the time. We saved ones have guardian angels provided by God to protect us. We are protected not from all distress or tests of our devotion but from undergoing more than we can handle with God. And when a person attacks us, the fight is very real but based wholly on the spiritual battle. When leaders and politicians are evil, like those who support killing babies, it is the idea and influence of demonic principalities that initiated it. When kings are evil and keep all money and aid for the people and starve them to death in the process, it is initiated by demonic powers of this world’s darkness. “Our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the principalities and powers of this world’s darkness.” But the thing to remember is that God is still the Victor, He had won and is still bigger. Prayer still works. And the question is not who will win and who is stronger because Satan is a created being and lost the second he decided to rebel with pride and try to be in charge. He is toast. The question is how many people will Satan fool and destroy in eternal hell with him? I keep praying God’s desire wins out so His loved people will be saved by Jesus. I blog about it, talk about it to whoever, but prayer with faith is unlocking the power of God into our requests and He answers those. People may fight Him but He lovingly urges them on. I love that you bravely went there and prayed. I love that God has you standing in the gap for those precious lives. I love that He wisely has you there for such a time as this. Please keep obeying Jesus. Love you as always! So proud of you! Hugs!XO😄❤

    • That is so so true. Thank you Tonya for this powerful response. You’re so right about that! Amen! God is the Victor! And what good news that is. And it’s true – there is POWER in prayer! Thank you so much for always having my back and being such a wonderful source of encouragement! You are a blessing to me, my friend!! Hugs and love xox

  43. I love that you are so aware of the Holy Spirit’s tug on your heart, AND aware of the spiritual warfare. Stay strong! NY is such a battleground for Life.

    • Hi Gina, oh gosh thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. It seriously means the world!! It really is a battleground!!! Hugs and love xox

  44. This post gave me food for thought. I have also experienced some pretty similar spiritual attacks. They can leave us feeling pretty yeuch(even if they do not involve bird attacks)
I have been left badly shaken too but God often brings something or somebody along to comfort us, when we need it.

I watch what happens afterwards. God in his own time, shows who is boss.

    • Thank you friend. I’m sorry that you can so personally relate. Amen to that – He always shows who’s boss! Big hugs to you xox

  45. You know I think highly of you BBB.

I definitely can see how the enemy knew beforehand the likelyhood of how you would perceive the occurence and he played off of it.

We all have our things, the things we deteste, or find apprehensible, when maybe they aren’t. Its all on how we choose to look at it.

I’m not speaking about abortion or planned parenthood.

I am speaking about how you chose to respond to the bird. He used your weakness against you and amplified it.

Take a moment to revisit your words later.. The way you describe the bird. God made that bird. God doesn’t make repulsive disgusting things. Its our opinions that are.

I thank God for the birds every day. They set examples to humans how we should wake up and worship.

I know you were focusing on spiritual warfare, and the atrocities going on.. But I did feel the need to mention this. Perhaps next time, it wont be so disgusting at all.. And youll hold tour cool. Realizing it was a cheap ploy. And that He is going to have to bring A army of birds, next time.. Better yet, next time.. It wont even bother you..you will roll with the punches and not be rattled. Bring it! I’m right here… Bring all the birds you want. And I’ll feed em to you for breakfast, enemy. Amen.

    • I’ll feed em to you for breakfast. Haha that’s funny. Thanks friend. 🙂 Hugs and love xox

  46. Thank you so much for the way you are serving God. God bless you and keep praying over those sweet babies and evil doers. Your post just brought me to tears. Stay strong and keep doing Gods work!

    • Thank you so much Shonda! I really appreciate your support. So glad this hit home with you:) big hugs xox

  47. I appreciate you praying for the women going in and coming out of there and for the babies killed in the PP clinic. As I read your post, I thought about what Jesus said- “Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man”

    • Thank you friend. Wow I hadn’t thought of that. That brings me comfort. Thank you. Hugs and love xox

  48. It is absolutely happening. My husband always says “I only sound crazy until it happens to you”. We have long conversations about the battle playing out right in front of us and it breaks our hearts. Members in our families are turning against each other because some hate our new president while others don’t. Seems like Hate is trending in some circles and it has become additive. Then there is the ugliness of narcissism and no gratitude in a world that seems to be more of a me mentality type of world. Love opens our eyes to the ugliness of hate and hate only blinds. There seem to be a lot of sad and broken people out in the world who’s hearts are filled with so much hate, and the only thing I know to do is pray for them. The devils best tool is social media and those beautiful little devices that everyone carries with them now, always looking down and no longer looking up into the eyes of other human beings.

    • Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this. You’re so right – hate is addictive. Just look at the news cycles. I’m sorry that you’re going through that in your family. Amen – there is power in prayer. And my goodness -Truth! Our phones are the evil one’s new playground. Yikes. Hugs and love xox

  49. Caralyn, this is the most beautiful post I’ve read in a long while. I even shared it with my teenager. I admire you so much! Just this past weekend was my Church’s General Conference where we, as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, come together to listen to our prophet and apostles speak. And one spoke of the need for us to be a voice for the unborn. And that’s just what you were on Saturday, Caralyn, a voice for the unborn. Abortion is so evil and morally wrong. It makes me heartsick. Yes, spiritual warfare is real. We’ve been in an ongoing war with Lucifer and his army since we made the choice to embrace Jesus as our Savior. I know you are blessing lives by how you choose to live yours.

    • Hi Camie, oh wow thank you for saying that. I really appreciate it. Yes! Let’s be the voice for the voiceless! Hugs and love xox

  50. Wow, your post really resonated with me! Last Wednesday, on the spur of the moment, I dropped by our local Planned Parenthood because I felt an overwhelming urge to pray there. I met a woman who normally prays there earlier in the day but had a change of plans. It was a divine appointment!! So encouraging!

She was praying the rosary, and it was my first time to pray the rosary with someone else, instead of by myself. After that, we prayed some additional prayers, including praying specifically for a young pregnant woman with cancer.

I’ve now been invited to come join a group that prays there four mornings each week.

My experience was so encouraging and inspiring — but later in the day I was hit with some really difficult emotions. At first I didn’t connect the two. Even after I did, it was hard to get out of that funk.

But thank goodness I wasn’t attacked by a bird!!!

    • Thank you Rebecca! I’m so glad this resonated with you! And thank you for praying for the unborn and the mamas! Keep at it! Your prayers are not unheard!! Hugs and love xox

  51. Wow!! It was really a courageous thing to do darling and I’m sure heaven would be proud. The bible said ‘in everything choose life’. ie no matter how hard it is choose life. So anything that goes against that is completely against his word and his very nature. I’m praying with you on this because this battle is not over and we need victory. I heart you baby❤

    • Thank you so much Chiqj, I really appreciate your support. amen – choose life!! 🙂 hugs xo

  52. Keep fighting the good fight!! God bless you.
Ps. If you haven’t yet heard the conversion testimony of Abby Johnson on YouTube- check it out. So powerful. Especially the part about miraculous medals 🙂

    • thank you so much Jenny, for your kind words! ooh amazing, i haven’t! i can’t wait to check it out!! hugs xo

  53. I woke up this morning (4am) and read your post and immediately started praying in the spirit. I am happy that you decided to stand in the gap for those babies, parents, and even medical staff. I pray that you stay encouraged in your faith and continue to fight the good fight. God is watching and is pleased I’m sure. He needs his people to pray his will so he can actively move in this world. What a blessing to be a vessel in the end of days! You were made for a time like this …Be encouraged my sista! GOD BLESS YOU!!!

    • Oh my gosh thank you so much for your prayers and for your wonderful words of encouragement! It truly means so much!! Hugs and love xox

  54. I’m glad to read you weren’t presented only with abuse and that people supported you too. With “feminists” who claim that an unborn baby is not even its own person and that the woman has a right to murder it dominating the both social media and *the* media, it’s hard to stand against it and I really admire you, and the people who supported you, for doing that.

I was actually born at 26 weeks, just above the legal limit for abortion, and so it’s an issue that really angers me as I can say first hand that those babies who are being killed are *alive*. Thank you for praying and I hope it’s made a difference to someone, somewhere.

    • Hi Ash, thank you so much for your support. And wow – thank you so much for sharing your powerful story. wow – it’s so true — it’s a life, no matter how small. big hugs xo

  55. Awesome. On so many levels, awesome. I literally wrote something this morning about how I feel like the Holy Spirit has been in overdrive within me lately….it’s comforting to know I’m not alone! We’re never alone. Keep living the faith. God bless

    • Thank you so much friend 🙂 oh wow that’s awesome! Yes! Never ever alone!! Hugs and love xox

  56. It was very brave what you did my friend! I support doing what you think is right even if it means standing alone. However I feel there are so many things wrong with this blog and so many things that are right. I am anti abortion but I’m pro you can’t tell a woman what to do with her body. Especially when her decision has no personal affect on you. Its between her and God. I don’t think at all having abortions is the devils work. If a woman get pregnant and the doctor tells her she will die if she has the baby. Should she just opt to die so her baby can live? Is that the devil’s work? People are quick to tell woman not to have an abortion and judge them when they don’t offer all the things that come with raising children. Our current administration is trying to get rid of Obamacare, Medicaid, and Medicare. Not to mention defund planned parenthood that offers free free services for preventing pregnancy. Which is insane. They don’t want women to have abortions but they also want to stop funding the services to prevent it from happening.

I love babies and children! I don’t support 3rd term abortion or abortion at all but taking away someone’s right to choose is not okay. Especially when it has no affect on my life.

Only God gets to make that call and I will not be apart of making someone feel bad for something they did for what is best for their life. Which I’m sure they will think about for the rest of their life!

    • Hi Lane, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and your heart on this emotional issue and for joining the conversation! I definitely agree that we have no place to judge – we are called to love. Period. And you’re absolutely correct: all human beings have rights that must be protected. A woman has the right to protect her own body. And her child in the womb also has rights that must be protected, namely the right to continue life. To impose death on another individual, in my opinion, is a right that absolutely no one possesses. But that is just my opinion. I respect that other people do not feel the same. And I think having open dialogue is important! I am absolutely with you: it is not our place to judge or make anyone feel bad. We are called to love oneanother. Not judge or condemn. Just love. And especially when women are in the aftermath of an abortion, they need all the love and support and compassion. Thank you again for sharing your heart on this. Big hugs to you, Lane.

      • You’re welcome! We all have a right to our opinion and it’s good to have respectful conversations. We may not always agree but there’s always respect! Have a wonderful blessed day my friend 🌷🌷

    • Haha are you referring to the bird? Yes. And I love animals. But it was an NYC pigeon…🤣Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  57. Wow thank you for doing that! I volunteer for my local pregnancy center and I used to work at a Christian camp and spiritual warfare as described in Ephesians is definitely real! Also, I’m amazed at how different cultures are just a few states apart. Like your parents, I live in OH and I saw Unplanned a WEEK after it came out and the theater was still full. So different from NY but you have such a good opportunity to witness there! Thanks for being faithful!

    • Thank you so much Kimmy for sharing your heart!! Oh wow – that’s so awesome that the theater was full!! praise God! You’re right – there is definitely a huge difference between the heartland and the coasts. yikes. big hugs to you!!! and thanks for all the work you’re doing with your preganancy center!! hgus x

  58. God bless you for standing up for the most innocent, and I hope and pray that perhaps at least one woman changed her mind when she saw you praying as she went in…or perhaps, we can pray, as she continued to walk by…

    • Thank you so much Angie, I really appreciate your prayers and support. I pray that too!! big hugs xo

  59. Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. (Ephesians 6-10-12) Way to go!

    • Amen to that! The FULL armor! Thanks so much for the encouragement. Hugs and love xox

  60. There’s a group of people who stand out on the corner in front of the PP in Colorado Springs. The numbers range from 1 to several dozen, but averages around 10 or so. They’re out there in all weather. When I can, I take coffee to them (especially on cold mornings), and if I see kids out there, hot chocs. I appreciate what they’re doing — what you’re doing.
    Keep being awesome, Caralyn.

    • Hi Matt! Oh wow that’s awesome – I’m sure they appreciate the gesture of support. 🙂 There is power in a strong hot chocolate!! 🙂 hehe hugs xo

  61. So this is my third attempt at responding, the site keeps crashing…you really must have upset the devil! Nice job. So what I wanted to say was simply …Awesome. On so many levels awesome. I literally wrote something this morning about how the Holy Spirit has been pushing/guiding me lately to the point I felt awkward saying out loud out of fear of peoples responses. In the end I had to write it and then I read your post. Comforting knowing we’re not alone. We’re never alone. Bless you for speaking for those who can’t. Keep living the faith. God bless

    • Oh boy! Thank you! I’m sorry it has been difficult to leave a comment! Thank you so much for your encouragement. And I’m so glad this post came at this time for you!! God bless you, friend!! Big big hugs xox

  62. Hi, Caralyn! The devil is real and we who follow Jesus are in battle with him every day. The thing is, we know how the war ends — the devil loses! Big time! Kudos to you for following the prompt of the Holy Spirit. 1 John 4:4 — You are from God, little children, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

    • Hi Roy! Thank you so much for this encouragement. Amen! God is the Victor!! big hugs to you xox

  63. When our small group has met there to pray and sing, it’s always an interesting adventure. People in our town are incredibly nasty, and pro-abortion. We’ve had cars pull over to scream at us, curse at us, and when our kids were with us it made no difference – if anything, it increased their hateful words and actions. So terribly sad.

    • Hi friend thank you so much for your encouragement. Oh gosh, I’m so sorry you’ve experienced that. Keep at the good work – you never know what seed you’re planting. hugs xo

  64. Such a great post, Caralyn! You have way more guts than i do! I need to go and do what you did here. It’s just so sad that people murder their children and there are some of us out here in the world that would do anything to have a child brought up in a loving family. God bless you!

    • Hi David! Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement! You’re so right about that. Big hugs to you xox

  65. Spiritual Warfare is REAL. It saddens me and even scares me a little of all the people that don’t believe it because they’re going through this life blinded. But then again, that’s exactly what Satan wants, isn’t it?

Way to go and following through what God was putting on your heart to do. You may never know the people you probably helped turn around and walk way just by your presence, or God’s presences through you. Wish I could give you a bit hug or a high five right now. You’re truly inspiring. Keep fighting the good fight!

    • You’re so right about that. than you so much for your ecouraging words. big hugs to you x

  66. So glad you perceived the “bird attack” as proof you’d made a difference. “If you do it right the enemy will fight!” Right on there!

  67. I just love to hear your testimonies and am so blessed by you living out your faith in Jesus Christ. The world is tired of the platitudes of most Christians and wants to see real Christianity at work in the lives of the believers. I see such activity as yours in the ones who know that the only reason they are alive today is because of the mercy of the Most High. I myself am a recovering alcoholic and drug user. I have overcome allot because of the blood of Jesus and the encouragement of the fellowship. Thanks again, you a lovely lady with a beautiful spirit.

    • Oh wow, I am so touched by your kind words. Thank you so much!! And thank you for sharing your story – amen – by the blood of Jesus! hugs xo

  68. God bless you! You are an amazing young woman and are a blessing and a great example to us all. Please shoot up a prayer for my daughters, Erin and Julie. They were both pro life but have been turned around and God isn’t in the picture any longer. 🙏🤗❤️

    • Oh gosh, thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement! I absolutely will keep your daughters in my prayers 🙂 big hugs to you xo

  69. I’m more pro choice myself, though I personally wouldn’t get an abortion unless I absolutely had to. But I enjoyed reading your story because it made me think.

  70. Thank you, Caralyn, for being God’s Girl and following the Holy Spirit’s prompting – you go girl! It is often a bit scary to step out in our faith to do something we feel led by the Spirit to do. This one was tough and you did it! A great big hug to you! You rock!

In reading all these wonderful comments I see God’s Words written a few times and once a Scripture reference is even mentioned. In my Christian roots, we believe that quoting Scripture has great power, because it is God’s Truths and Satan cannot abide where the Light of God’s Truths are spoken. So, YES, because I believe the Holy Bible is God’s Holy Word, I believe that spiritual warfare is real. Ephesians Chapter 6 clearly tells us that it is, particularly verse 12:

    About Christian Warfare: Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints

When we fill our hearts and minds with memorized Scripture (the Truth, vs 14), then we have a super powerful and effective tool (a mighty sword, vs 17) with which to fend off the devil and defeat him!

Caralyn, I was taught that when we are stepping out into spiritual battle, we should tell a “prayer warrior” or someone we know that has strong praying skills, and ask them to “cover” us in prayer as we step into the spiritual battle. I hope you will do this to protect yourself and to strengthen the power your prayers will have. And if you need someone to cover you, please please please, you can call upon me! I would be honored to pray for you!
Love and hugs back to you, sweet God’s Girl <3

    • Oh gosh thank you so much Mindy for your kind words and encouragement. You’re so right – there is power in His word! Hugs and love xox

  71. I’ve not been F-bombed that much in life, but got plenty of it when I took place in a pro-life prayer witness. The hate is incredible, and in one case it came from a car driving by – the guy’s (yes, it was a guy) was… what? Distorted? There was something beyond anger, beyond normal humanity that made his features bizarre.

There is spiritual warfare – make sure to have folks praying for you while you witness, even if they can’t be there. And if folks can be with you, that’s a plus. As a Roman Catholic, you might consider having the Mass said for you on the day you go.

Thank you for your witness. Yes, you hurt Satan’s wittle feewings and he acts out. But remember Romans 16:19-20, “For while your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, I want you to be wise as to what is good, and simple as to what is evil; then the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.”

    • It really is a jarring feeling, isn’t it?! Thanks so much for your support. Amen – God is the Victor! Hugs and love xox

  72. Yes, Caralyn, spiritual warfare is real. Now that you know it you will prepare yourself for it and know why, from experience, that Jesus is always watching over His children. You have written many articles that made me realize you are a very special young lady in the hands of God. But never more so than what you posted here. May I say? I am very, very proud of you! Hugs and love to you, too!

    • Thank you friend. I am so touched by your encouraging words. Thank you. Hugs and love xox

  73. I’m so glad you called what happened what it was. (Spiritual warfare) And every time I have talked about abortion crazy things happen to me. It’s sooooooo weird.
But God bless you for fighting this. More women need to stand up, because they say they do this “for women”

    • Thank you so much Brittania. Satan doesn’t like it when we fight for the babies! All the more reason to!! Hugs and love xox

  74. Thank you so much for sharing. This is not only a spiritual war, it’s a reflection of the culture of death that permeates our society.
I remember when abortion was legalized in the US. I don’t think anyone with rational thinking and faith imagined how many innocent lives would be ended by this heinous industry. And that is what it truly is to those who take part in this slaughter of innocent lives. And now, assisted suicide is gaining momentum, just as abortion has since it was legalized.

    • Thank you so much friend – you’re so right about that — we are truly living in a culture of death. It is so sad. Hugs and love xox

      • Most definitely. It is sad. Especially when the conscience is dulled and these practices are viewed an acceptable way to eliminate unwanted children, the chronically ill and aging adults. This is why it is so important for your generation to be a voice for the innocent and vulnerable members of society. Many of you were raised with a conscience and pro life beliefs. In addition to your faith. And for that I praise God! I accidentally hit the send button before I added this. Hugs and love xox Mary

      • It is the tragedy of our lifetime. THanks again Mary, for your wonderful support. hugs xo

  75. Good for you for doing that. I used to pray about once a week outside the local abortion clinic, but somehow I got out of the habit. You’ve inspired me to go back.

    • THank you Diane, oh that’s awesome that you did that. 🙂 big hugs to you xo

    • Oh gosh thank you! I haven’t heard of it! i’ll definitely check it out! thanks for the recco! hugs xo

  76. God bless you Caralyn! You always amaze you. I went and saw the movie in upstate New York, and theater was packed. There were people of all ages and some were crying. I shed some tears throughout. I never new abortion was really like that… it’s crazy how much we are deceived as a society. I feel like no one really knows what an abortion is like until they- god forbid- go through one. The movie really opened up my eyes, to the deception and lies we are fed. It is not about “women’s right” and it makes me sick that the argument is justified based on that. Human life is so precious- all life is.. but it seems no one values life anymore. Someday Jesus will be back though and yes, we will answer to Him. God bless you, girl. Always love you 💛

    • Hi Laura Aleena! Thank you so much for your support. That’s so great that the theater was full! Wasn’t it just so incredibly powerful? I mean — wow. And you’re so right — society is SO deceived. Even the word itself is a sanitization of what it actually is. *sigh* We’ve just gotta keep praying! hugs ox

  77. One thing I have learned through the years is that the devil only fights back if he’s afraid…afraid of what you are and what you can accomplish against him so I would say that you are definitely destined to cause him some serious harm!!

    • That’s a powerful thought! THank you so much!! 🙂 I am so encouraged! big hugs xo

  78. Be the voice for the living hurt by the mistakes they made. The unborn, or dead is not our concern. Leave that to God. Your conscience must stay rooted to existence that you can relate. Pass no judgement on those women who had aborted, instead be there for them to share their pain. Healing begins when we nurture the emotion with love. When mistakes are realised they will not be repeated, and God would be pleased.

    • We should absolutely not pass judgement. And I wasn’t. We are called to only love people. Not judge. Not condemn. Only love. That is our job. WHen i was there, I made it a point to look each person that came in or went out of the clinic in the eye, and give them a warm smile with genuine love and compassion in my eyes. THanks David.

  79. This may be a tad strange, but I’m going to issue a challenge.

To anyone who reads these posts, and who supports the views of this fabulous young lady of God. Anyone who is close to where she lives. Go support her. In person. Arrange to go with her. Particularly if you know her already. Make time to support her – not only in prayer, but in person. Next time she goes to pray at PP, go along. Go together.

  80. Wow! You are a brave young soldier. God has a great plan for your life. Spiritual warfare exists and is powerful. However, my advise to you is that the next time, you take someone with you who are equally committed. One can chase a thousand but two people ten thousand. Plus with another person you can cover each other against attack. As you said, Satan doesn’t like what you are doing and so he immediately launched an unexpected attack on you. But, God is greater and He will protect you. God bless you my dear.

    • Hi Beverley! Thank you so much for your encouraging words! I love that – two people can chase 10,000 — that’s amazing. Amen! We can be confident in His protection!! thanks so much for stopping by! big hugs xo

      • Amen. I enjoyed reading your blog. You are doing a tremendous work for the Lord. I will continue to pray for your protection. Have a blessed weekend

  81. Before you go again–>get ‘prayed up!’. If you can fast, fast. Even if it is a lunch everyday and spend that time in the Bible reading scriptures for protection. Ephesians 6:10-18 is excellent scripture to be ‘prayed up’ on. And read the scripture OUT LOUD, so the enemy hears you and your atmosphere is prepared.

Memorize James 4:7 “Submit to the Lord, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” and while you are walking and praying, say it out loud every now and then. If that bird (or any demon) attacks you again. All you need to say is “Jesus”. The enemy has to flee. (PS: there is more teachings Biblically about resisting. Let me know if you need more fuel)

We had an attack one time, after a group of us were praying for someone, we got home and as we walked in the door–for no reason at all…the stereo started screaching out this horrible noise. Ummmm, the power was off when we walked too. Yeah, so weird. And it freaks you out!!! I walked over and shut it off and rebuked it in Jesus name. Not to say it didn’t startle me. But, I know what it looks like and feels like.

I’m happy to send you my cell# too. Next time you go, I will pray for you via text 1st and be praying while you are there. Good to have a few others too. Prayer warriors in your court!

God bless you BBB for what you are doing!!! Stay bold! Perservere!

    • Oh my gosh that must have been such a jarring situation!! yikes!! That’s such a great idea to get prayed up!! I’ll have to do that next time. And amen — there is power in His name!!! Gosh, thank you so much, that’s so thoughtful of you!! I really appreciate it!! God bless you, dear friend!! hugs and love xoxoxox

    • awww thank you so much for your kind words 🙂 so glad this resonated with you! bighugs xo

  82. What an experience and a beautiful way to spend the day. I’m not even kidding. Doing something that fills your heart, as well as the world, with love is important. Bless you. And those people need the prayers more than a lot of us do.

  83. I join the others here in supporting this kingdom work you are doing for our Lord. Please “pray up” and “go in two”s at least, as some of these commenters suggest. You are greatly loved by all of your followers. I would like to email you some of my personal experience with spiritual warfare in hopes that it may warn and encourage you about spiritual attacks.
Thank you for posting this. It encourages me greatly. Prayers for Pro Life, your protection, and victory in Christ over this entire issue.

    • Thank you Sherron. You’re right about that – twos for sure. And gosh I so appreciate your prayers. Big hugs! Hugs and love xox

  84. I admire you so much for overcoming any fears and doing what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. I shared this with my Bible study group and they loved your story –– and your reminder that Satan does exist. He tries his hardest to take residence in all of us but we have to keep him out.

    • Hi Patsy! Oh gosh, thank you so much! I am absolutely touched and honored that you would share this with your bible study. The evil one really does try hard, but Praise God, He has already won!! big hugs to you xox

    • Oh gosh, thank you so much Ted! I really appreciate you saying that 🙂 big hugs to you xox

  85. This post made me think a lot. This has never been a political issue for me. I just feel so much the pain of the young women who, terrified, face condemnation and poverty so extreme that they would consider terminating their baby, and on the other side, the horror of a legal abortion, or the even greater horror of an illegal abortion. Can a nation as wealthy as our really not afford to make the idea of having a baby a universal joy? I just feel this sadness around the entire issue. Your solution of just standing there in prayer really struck me. Prayer for the young women who need compassion more than they need a procedure. Prayer for the entire situation and the salvation of everyone involved. And a lot of forgiveness. This post really made me think. Thanks.

    • Thanks Spencer for sharing your heart on this. Yeah, those women need so much love and compassion. Not judgement. Love. And lots of it. And you’re right – there is power in prayer. Hugs and love xox

  86. Is there any literature you could possibly hand out next time about adoption services and places that help pregnant females in need? Sometimes all it takes is showing someone who is vulnerable there are other options–when fear sets in, tunnel vision happens and it would be easy for a young woman to think PP is her only option.

    • I met a very nice friar today who gave me some pamphlets to hand out in the future! Because you’re right – just knowing they have options is a powerful thing! Thanks for stopping by, Lisa! Hugs and love xox

  87. You are a gutsy young woman, no doubt about it. I admire you to the max having the courage to live your faith, and help stop the killing. Hugs and prayers to you.

    • Thank you so much Dennis, I really appreciate your prayers and encouraging words. Big hugs to you xox

  88. This is an interesting read. There is much that I agree with in what you say, only from a different perspective. In a way, I find this an opportunity for me to enter a world of what might be regarded as contrasting to my perspective and offer my thoughts on the subjects you raise in this post.

First of all, I found the statement you made, “This is who I am, this is what I believe, and I absolutely believe that spiritual warfare is real.” to be a very beautiful statement. A statement that should always be respected and even admired whether another person believes the same or not.

From this statement, I believe all the rest happened to you. What you believe is what you perceive. There is no right or wrong to it. You yourself determine the right and wrong in it.

As for abortion, your reasoning for being against it may be different from mine but the ultimate result is the same. For me, abortion is an easy out for what some might consider a mistake. A mistake should be learned from, not just extinguished and swept under the rug so they can go on without any consequences. I don’t believe life to be a mistake but a work of art that should always be allowed to express itself.

It may seem to be an easy out but it has even worse consequences that don’t appear until after the true mistake of the abortion occur. The repercussions will be mental and emotional, affecting them for the rest of their lives, unless they have no conscience at all, which I doubt is true in any human being.

This is the sad part. That they don’t understand this until it is too late. Even hearing about it from others won’t convince all people. They see the quick fix that they think will purify them from the mistake, believing they can get away unscathed without taking any responsibility for it themselves.

There are plenty of loving people out there who would be happy to adopt a child. This, of course, would mean going through the long pregnancy and also the pain of childbirth. Abortion takes care of those consequences. Necessary consequences that would be as much a learning experience coming from the mistake as well as healing for them.

It would relieve them of a lifetime of painful mental and emotional consequences that the quick fix would cause in exchange for the short term pain of the pregnancy and childbirth. The end result would be a happy couple who would now have a child to love, care for and allow this being to express itself fully through being alive. It would also result in the birth mother learning from her mistake and hopefully not doing it again. She would have also taken responsibility for her actions.

I also agree that the issue of abortion is very divisive. As you expressed from your experience, there is much hatred, bias and even bigotry coming from both sides when there should be understanding. Understanding each other. Sadly, when there is opposition to something it often raises both awareness of the issue and also acceptance of the issue. The for and against syndrome. The competition to be right. In the middle are the victims, not only the babies in this case, but also those innocent people who are getting the abortion. How dare I call them innocent. They are evil horrible people. No, they are not evil horrible people. Their perspective is simply skewed.

Coming at them from a religious perspective only causes more confusion because there is much divisiveness on the subject of belief. Some people don’t want to consider themselves judged by some deity and it also causes rebellion toward the issue at hand if they have such a perspective. People in rebellion often act rashly, without taking into account the end result of their actions. They react to the problem rather than respond to it.

In some way, the adversity toward you is not only about your stance on abortion but also your belief. It might be difficult for a devoutly religious person to be able to understand the life of someone who isn’t religious and vice versa. For this issue to be resolved both parties have to meet on neutral ground. An understanding would have to gained between each party. This is true with all the divisive issues that plague this country and the world. Simply fighting for God for what a person believes is right is not going to solve the problem. In fact, it will only fuel the fire. The competition to be right will become the focus rather than the true issue at hand.

Because this issue, for the most part, has become a religious against the secular issue, it would be very difficult to unwind this and get back to neutral ground. Therefore I can see this issue going on for a very long time, no matter how many prayers are said. There are too many internal complications that have become instilled within the issue that are not even about the true issue of abortion.

I don’t know if the religious and the secular will ever be able to truly meet on neutral ground. One side or the other will believe they are right and the other is wrong. Maybe if we eliminate the desire to be right and the competition of proving the other wrong then this might allow both sides to come to the table with clarity of mind and heart and be able to solve their differences with this issue as well as all the issues of divisiveness that plague this country and the world.

It seems an impossible task where those who believe in a God might simply turn to prayer with hope that their God will resolve it for them. This, of course, leads into the conflict of deism vs theism. Does the deity interfere in human events or does it simply create and allow the creation to work it out for themselves? It seems, when it comes to belief, there is always a conflict of some sort.

Sadly, I believe this hope in prayer to solve this issue is also a desire for a quick fix to something where they (the religious or pro life) also need to take responsibility for themselves by seeking to understand those of a different point of view rather than believing them to be an adversary that they must overcome through the competition of being right. That it is a battle between good and evil rather than in simply bringing together two different perspectives and allowing them to join through compromise and understanding. Finding the good in both rather than focusing on what they believe is evil in the other.

Thank you for liking my post and allowing me to come here and find the opportunity of offering a different viewpoint on an issue that we both agree on.

    • Oh wow that is such a powerful gesture. Thanks for sharing that! Big hugs to you xox

  89. Spiritual warfare is real! Satan has changed tactics in today’s society, and we are a very divided nation. Good for you, praying for the unborn and the ones who are killing them. You are amazing! 🙏❤😇

    • You’re so right – it is real. But God is greater! Thanks for the encouragement! Hugs and love xox

  90. Hi Caralyn! This is Amber from the Return2Christ blog. First, I want to thank you for your support. It means the world to me. Second, I want to commend you for taking a stand and doing what you did. It is no easy task. God called you, and you did as he asked. Amen, sister!

Spiritual warfare is absolutely real. I have a knowledge of it that came at a very high price. I am a survivor of demonic possession. Jesus Christ saved my life. I am happy to share a few things that I have learned from my experiences. I agree with your very wise father- it really was Satan. I read your experience with the bird and it immediately resonated with my own experiences. I’m so sorry that happened to you. The enemy can and will use birds and smaller creatures for scare tactics, or for fulfilling their purposes and plans to put us on edge/lead us astray/cause fear, etc. When I was deep into new age practices, I would ask “the universe” for signs. I’d go outside, and there would be my signs- the birds, butterflies, insects, in the way that I had asked for them. It was completely abnormal. It was complete deception. Geese would fly right by my window and honk at midnight. So many strange things. When I finally realized that the New Age practices were actually Satanic, it got worse before it got better. I had to fight my way out. I still fight them today. The night I published my blog about my story, my IPad kept crashing and it took me hours longer than it should have. My point being, that I had to learn to take these attacks as indications that I was going in the right direction. I know they are scary, and startling, and just plain rude. But, Satan doesn’t waste his time fighting those who aren’t threatening to his plan. He fights those who stand with Christ. I believe Satan knows our potential as well. That’s why he fights us so hard.
I’ll be praying for you! Keep going and keep praying. Keep following the Holy Spirit- do what God puts in your heart. Maybe this first step will turn into something much bigger- For with God, nothing shall be impossible. ❤️

    • Hi Amber, thank you so much for sharing your story. Gosh, that is i unsettling. But amen to that – nothing is impossible with God, and He has already won, so we can place our hope and confidence in that!! Thank you again for your support and reassurance! Means a lot! Hugs and love xox

  91. Hey dear, I love how deeply spiritual God has empowered you. You are fighting a good fight. I just hope you cover yourself with the Precious Blood of Jesus before going into a spiritual warfare. After you are done don’t forget to do the counter-attack prayers also so as to avoid the counter-attacks. devil must have been pissed too much. God bless you #hugs

    • Thank you so much for your encouraging words! You’re right – there is power in prayer. Especially protective prayer. Hugs and love xox

  92. Spiritual warfare is real! Most Christians either dismiss it as religious hocus locus or over emphasize it. Thanks for standing in the gap for the unborn.

    • Thank you Burt. You’re so right about that – it is real but it has its place. God is victorious! Hugs and love xox

  93. Beautiful! Simply beautiful! I applaud you for following where you felt led. I believe it was bold and courageous. I’m so proud of you for standing strong in your beliefs. I believe you have created an opening for something much bigger than you or I could imagine. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is to not get all loud, screaming or attacking but to simply stand tall and quietly, boldly pray.

    • Thank you so much for this beautiful encouragement. I pray that too!! Hugs and love xox

  94. I’m not a religious person, but can’t imagine how anyone can NOT view abortion as anything but murder. They camouflage it by calling it “women’s reproductive rights.”
And I’ve read about the origins of Planned Parenthood. Genocide, anyone?

    • Hi KT, thank you so much for sharing your heart on this. I am right there with you. Once you know the true origins of the organization and it’s founder, it’s ludicrous to support such a deplorable organization. Yes, they do offer a few good resources and health care for free. But that’s like saying McDonalds is a health food store just because they offer apple slices as an option with their happy meal. Sorry – got super heated thinking about that! So glad you stopped by! Hugs and love xox

  95. You are such an inspiration! Great job good and faithful servant! God tells us sometimes we have to stand alone…and you are brave! Will you be attending the Focus on the Family live event on May 4th in Times Square? They will be showing a 4D ultrasound to support the unborn….😊

    • Oh my goodness thank you so much!!! This is the first I’ve heard of that event but wow! If I’m in town I definitely want to go!!! Hugs and love xox

  96. From my Angels story in “DebDays” blog. Remember you are protected in unseen ways. I was starting a bible story in Switzerland when this happened.

“Miracles occur even on trails where you least expect it. I was hiking in Switzerland with my friend on a trail that passed through wooded areas and into stunning clearings. He was ahead of me about two hundred feet and I was coming out of the trees onto an area of the mountain where you could not see the top of the mountain to my left.
As I stepped onto the path, I felt a hand on my shoulder and paused.

It was a feeling, and I paused maybe two or three seconds.

As I took my first step, I heard something and looked up. A huge boulder at least two feet in diameter came bouncing down the mountain onto the trail and continued down the mountain.

I stood there stunned as my friend turned around to find the source of the sound. I could have been killed.” Make sure to pray when you are in warfare.

    • Wow what an incredible story! Wow! Thank you for sharing that. i think you’re so right about that – we are under His protection! hugs xox

  97. Well, number one: I am so proud of you; that takes guts. Number two: I am no stranger to the fact that C.S. Lewis was onto something when he wrote that some of the trees and some of the animals were on the White Witch’s side! There’s evidence for that thought in the Bible. Heck, I just underwent the biggest demonic attack I’ve ever been through because of my last two posts!!!

I would also like to direct you to some of these articles, they’re grisly – fair warning – but I think you can do a lot with them:
    https://www.lepantoinstitute.org/former-satanist-i-performed-satanic-rituals-inside-abortion-clinics/

    https://www.the-res-publica.org/single-post/2018/10/29/Modern-Moloch

There was one that described the horrific ritual of Molech worship and then described a saline abortion – which is surprisingly far worse – but I can’t find it again! Grrr! God bless you and protect you greatly! Mom and I love all your posts and you are on our prayer list!!!

    • Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. And I’m sorry you can so personally relate! And oh my gosh that is terrifying! Yikes. Thanks for stopping by:) Hugs and love xox

  98. Hey! Thank you SO much for sharing! I used to do this for a few years and it was so challenging, convicting, and spiritually turbulent. I will never forget some of the conversations I had with men or women asking why we were praying and being able to converse with them before they went in, and sometimes they even left! I actually posted an article about my thoughts on the abortion issue, making a concise case for defending the lives of the unborn recently. I would LOVE to hear what you think about it! https://jakebyrd.wordpress.com/2019/04/08/my-thoughts-on-abortion/
Also, I really enjoyed reading your post on seeing Unplanned and then this. I’m so encouraged to hear about how God led you to do this!

    • Thanks so much Jake for your kind words of encouragement. Wow! What powerful work. And thanks for passing that along. I look forward to reading it! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much friend. Yes – there is power in prayer for sure! I appreciate your encouragement. Hugs and love xox.

  99. Spiritual warfare is real…it’s scary how it happens when you start getting closer to God. You go girl!! Love your bravery and for sharing your experience with us readers here.

  100. Caralyn, how timely to read this just after Sunday’s reading of the woman caught in adultery and Jesus’ challenge not to judge. With your own history of knowing despair and living that despair through starvation, you seem particularly suited to relate to the despair of those going to PP. You also know how love changes despair to hope, and so are able to show that love to those at PP. Injecting hope into despair is such a powerful witness to the transformational power of Jesus. You go, girl!

    • Hi Madeline! Thank you so much! I’m so very grateful that you said that – because my heart and my presence there was not coming from a place of judgement at all. But love. That’s the tough thing – is that people assume that when you show up there to pray that you are doing so in judgement of the women entering those doors. But that could not be more opposite of the truth. We are called to love. Only love. And loving people through the hard and scary times – that is so important. You’re right – I love this gospel passage. It tells us everything we need to know. Thank you so much for your support. Hugs and love xox

  101. Deciding to engage in coitus = choice. Deciding whether or not to use protection = choice. Getting pregnant because of choices = consequences. Deciding to end the pregnancy because bad choices were made = murder. Great post as always BBB!

  102. The greatest victory satan has ever won has been convincing people that he doesn’t exist. If he doesn’t exist, then there really isn’t any evil and if there really isn’t any evil, well….then anything goes doesn’t it? Spiritual warfare ABSOLUTELY exists. It happens everyday, everywhere, all around us. Good for you for standing up to the evil one. Thank you to God for giving you the moments beforehand to help sustain you through it (because I’m sure it isn’t over yet!). He always knows what we need doesn’t He? God Bless you, Caralyn, keep fighting for what you know is right!

    • That is such truth – convincing people he doesn’t exist. You’re absolutely right – God have me those encouragements beforehand for sure. And praise God that He already won! Hugs and love xox

  103. Beautiful post! I am so glad you did this, though I would advise, as many others have, both another person and a ‘prayer shield’ for the next time. As an aside, I have been told to move my prayer location further away from the PP clinic by both police and security. I don’t disparage them and always have politely and respectfully obeyed them. It can sometimes be discouraging, but the LORD lifts the heart because you are doing His will. May God’s blessings rain down upon you and His protection be with you as you venture out for His children.

    • Hi DT! Thank you so much for sharing your heart on this emotional issue. Yes! A prayer shield is a great great idea. Thank you for your prayers, and may His blessings rain down on you too!! 🙂 Hugs and love xox

  104. Caralyn, truly the Holy Spirit was acting through you and gave you the courage to fight for the most innocent of life that day. God bless you, and thank you for sharing your experience here with everyone. Your testimony here has inspired and encouraged me very much in this fight for life; with God’s help, I hope to do more for those precious babies also. In my heart, and especially in my prayer of the Rosary, I stand with you and all prayer warriors fighting for life as well! God bless! 🙂

    • Thank you so much Vixey for your prayers and support. It really means a lot!!! Hugs and love xox

  105. Wow. I missed this post when it first came out, for some reason, but holy wow.

I’m kind of …. non-Christian with my abortion beliefs. I’m not saying I’d ever have an abortion–I’d probably be unable to go through with one. But in my mind, souls have more than one chance if a given life doesn’t happen. They simply wind up being born into a different life instead. (Of course, if I’m wrong, then… that’s really bad. But if I’m right, then abortion isn’t as destructive as it seems.)

But that bird thing is freaky scary. It gave me the shivers to read about!! You are a very brave woman and a good role model to all of us, and I’m also sorry that people f-bombed you. That bites.

    • Hey Meg, thank you so much for sharing your heart on this emotional issue. Yeah the bird situation definitely left me shaken up. Total shivers. Thanks for your encouraging words. 🙂 means a lot. hugs to you xx

  106. Thank you Jesus for protecting your beloved! Amen! Spiritual warfare is very real my sister. I remembered going to a prayer meeting at one of our members home and she told me and the others,”You know the enemy is going to come after you all for this?” I was like, “Oh really?” I wasn’t scared cause I know God is my shield. Well he sure did come but I called on the name of Jesus Christ and he delivered me! Thank you Lord! Continue to stand up for Jesus! You will be greatly rewarded in the end. So sad to see this support for such wickedness against God’s heritage. My gosh! Have mercy on America Lord! Blessings & grace.. 🙂 <3

  107. Thank you for sharing your story, and for answering God’s call to pray on that sidewalk.
One day, everyone will know how evil abortion is, and all eyes will be opened. All we can do is pray that “one day” comes sooner, rather than later.

    • Hi Sarah Jo! I really appreciate your support and encouragement. You’re right – and there is power in prayer! Hugs and love xox

  108. Have you thought about doing something actionable to change the situation of women who are thinking about abortion in addition to praying? I mean…. no one wants an abortion for fun. I don’t know …. Something like volunteering at women’s shelter? Or help someone to actually get her life under control, like keeping a job and get available help from the state? I don’t know …. something like really understanding reasons why women go through that and trying to change this reasons?

  109. When you tangle with the forces of evil, don’t be surprised that things don’t go your way. I’ve been in spiritual warfare sessions enough to know that you don’t just walk into the valley of the shadow of death, without a little bit of preparation. No soldier goes into battle unprepared. In the bible, Moses was instructed to slaughter a lamb and place its blood on the doors of the houses of the Israelites, so that the Angel of Death would not touch any of their first born children.
It was the blood that protected the children of Israel. In the same way, what you should do is speak and declare the covering of the blood of Christ over yourself. This is your hedge of protection from the forces that you will encounter. Secondly, you notice that Jesus never sent his disciples out alone. It was always in pairs. Because if you look the armor of God mentioned in the bible, its all forward facing. So what covers your back, your partner. In the spirit you’re walking with your backs against each other to protect each other while you battle with the enemy.

So I would say that before you do it again, join with someone, plead the blood and covering over yourselves and then go into the battleground. I hope this helps Caralyn. Keep up the good work.

    • Always in pairs – that’s a great thing to remember. Thanks again for this encouragement and advice! Hugs and love xox

  110. Inspiring post. How would a bird be used in a satanic attack, and why would it happen in New York and Chicago as another commenter said? Maybe not how you think, and I wanted to speculate about the modus operandi used here. I have already heard rumours of such things for instance using insects, from targetted individuals and survivors of military mind control such as Katy Groves. Those with the satanic psychopathic mindset have been engaged in large scale technological and psychological research since the second world war and reports from survivors and whistle-blowers consistently state that military black ops technology is more advanced than consumer technology. Elisa E for instance has warned of dark-tech where ill intentioned occult knowledge is combined with advanced technological methods, using for instance genetic engineering, electromagnetics and implantation. I suspect that after your prayer you were glowing, which is what triggered the bird attack, and that also the church goer from Chicago was glowing on her way to church. There is much criminal activity in both New York and Chicago to do with black-ops. The sinister activities you were combatting serve as an energy source for dark-tech. The attack also shows to me that your spiritual activity had been effective, so well done.

    • Thank you so much friend for sharing your thoughts on this emotional issue. It’s a scary world out there but praise God that He has already won! Hugs and love xox

  111. I appreciate your boldness and your stance for Christ and biblical principle. Only eternity will reveal how God answered your prayers as you prayed outside a building where many lives are destroyed. On a side note, it sounds like you might meet your future husband as you are walking in obedience;).

    • Thank you again Matthew. That’s an interesting thought!! Hmm! Hadn’t thought of that! 😃 Hugs and love xox

    • That’s so awesome. Thank you for the heads up on this awesome event!! Hugs and love xox

  112. I am so grateful for your posts and the way you think. I find God’s heart in what you write and who you are. It was very courageous of you to do this and you did it in a loving way. You continue to inspire me!

    • Thank you so much Julia – what a kind thing to say. I am truly humbled and touched! Hugs and love xox

  113. Dear Beautybeyondbones,

I love your tenacity, bravery, boldness and faith! You were on Gods frontlines of warfare and you made the enemy mad! Good for you! I know all too well the attacks of the enemy and what you did was establish your authority in Christ that
Jesus gave us before he ascended
To heaven! He gave us all authority over the enemy! Actually this is the second time I’ve responded to your blog, the first time as I was typing, just disappeared! Go figure! Keep up the good work! Praying against abortion and praying for it to be stopped completely is stepping on Satan’s tors big time! This stronghold he has runs strong and deep! God forgive us for even letting it get started! I my sister in Christ stand with you in this war! God shall prevail and win! May the heart of every woman who finds themselves with child have such a live for the life of that child nothing will persuade you to take it! Keep fighting the good fight with a vengeance and I will also! May God protect you and empower you as you fight this good fight!

    • Oh my gosh thank you so much LeeAnn for this beautiful encouragement! I am so touched by your kindness. Hugs and love xox

  114. The spiritual warfare that you had to endure was terrible! I’m sorry that you went through that–and with awful commentary from the man on the street, and passersby. But very grateful that you made it out safely since the weapon formed but could not prosper! Thank you for sharing your story!

    • Thank you so much Monique – I appreciate your support. I agree – very grateful that i got out of there unscathed. God is good. Hugs and love xox

  115. Thanks for sharing. I saw the movie last weekend and keep thinking back to scenes from it. Prayer works. Keep at it. Maybe next time go with an army helmet. 🙂🦅

    • Thanks Matt – wasn’t it a powerful movie?! Haha army helmet – got it! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much, friend. I appreciate your support and kind words! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much Jennifer, for your support and encouragement. Amen! Jesus is the Victor !! Hugs and love xox

  116. You are so strong and I, really, admire your courage! And, yes, Spiritual welfare is, certainly, involved! Keep up the good work. I, also, love your delicious looking food and recipes.

    • Thank you so much Delores! What a kind thing to say 🙂 I agree – gotta keep praying! Hugs and love xox

  117. I’ve gone several times to pray before abortion clinics, but never alone, that was really brave! And I’m sure your presence made some girl, boyfriend or clinic stuff think twice; who knows, you might have planted the seed of conversion in a heart. Of course satan (I, following St. Josemaría Escrivá, prefer to write it in lower case, he doesn’t deserve more) is angry at you! But you’re using God’s graces, and that means you’re going to receive now even more and more graces, so never be afraid 🙂

    • Thanks Paola. I sure hope so. Please God! Amen – no capital letters for the evil one!!!! Thank you for your kind words of encouragement! Hugs and love xox

  118. You are a brave woman to stand for the right things. Dear friend, in a world losing values. Someone must stand for the one’s, who cannot. I believe prayer had great power.

  119. We in Mississippi are both blessed and cursed to have only one abortion mill left open in the state right here in the Capitol city of Jackson. Our church is very involved in protesting and working to shut it down. Its in the trendy section known as the Fondren and yes it too is near many college campuses. They are building a new boutique hotel just across the street from it, I guess the hotel investors figure patrons have no morals.

    • Oh wow, thank you so much for sharing that. I pray that it gets shut down soon!! Thank you for working for Christ! Isn’t it so sad how they build them near vulnerable women (IE college campuses, where young women are still at an impressionable age) makes me so sad. big hugs xo

  120. To do that on your own without support of others but simple and quietly walk out in your trust in Yeshua is an action equal to David standing before Goliath. Thank You for being the example of exercising Your trust in ADONAI.

    • Oh my gosh, Paul – I am humbled and touched by such generous words. Thank you friend. big hugs oxxo

  121. Well you asked for thoughts on spiritual warfare so here goes. First of all, I love that #1 you heard the Spirit speak, #2 you obeyed, and #3 you learned some amazing things through that obedience. If more people could just understand that, this world would be a different place entirely. I myself have been learning a lot about spiritual warfare in the last year and I think the key is to remember that we do not fight against flesh and blood. Just two weeks ago my wife and I experienced a coordinated attack that started with our friends telling us that we were loosing it and essentially being deceived by satan, then our son moved out at 17 (he only made it a week thank goodness) and to top it all off I went to dispose of an old TV at our local disposal facility and was screamed at by the lady at the gate because I was in the wrong line. Honestly when the lady started yelling at me my first reaction was to get mad but then God showed me that the enemy all had the same battle plans and these people were just being influenced by that plan. This may be hard to fully explain but we truly do not fight against flesh and blood. The problem is that unless we see it from God’s eyes we just see the person (or bird) that is used in the attack. Now each person does have responsibility for their actions but I think we forget how powerful an enemy we face and when it comes to protecting lives that have no voice, of course that will be opposed. HOWEVER, God does give us the tools to deal with the attacks and we also have to remember that HE has already won. Prayer is an amazing weapon as you found out. Thank you for this story.

    • Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and your heart on this. Gosh, I’m sorry that you had to walk through that. You’re right – God gives us the tools we need – and amen – He has already won! I will absolutely be keeping you and your family in my prayers! Big hugs xox

  122. What the on earth is your website about? Issues that mean something to you and to others, or selling a pile of junk to your readers? Your tooth whitening ad image is a shameful embarrassment. You can clearly see the after image is badly edited, it’s a totally different colour to the one above… it’s been lightened. If the whitener was really magic you wouldn’t need to do that would you? That’s a very old advertising trick… one that’s very outdated… and you call yourself a Christian promoting fake magic products… you’re a liar!!

I’m a photographer by the way, I know all about editing images, and trickery. Either you’re an idiot, or you think your readers are. I won’t be reading any more of your articles that’s for sure. You haven’t got an honest bone in your body. Good luck with your fake life.

    • hah, ok, thanks pal. For the record, those are my sister’s teeth. I wouldn’t share about this product if I didn’t fully stand behind it. I use it. My family and friends use it. No photography trickery here. But if you choose to believe that, then that is your prerogative and I can’t stop you. As far as what my website is about…if you ask the people who actually read my blog, I’m sure they’d be happy to tell you 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, friend. hugs xox

      • Oh come on… who are you kidding… it’s photography trickery. I told you, I’m a photographer, I know what I’m talking about on edited photos. I didn’t say the teeth weren’t genuine. Fine, they’re your sisters teeth… and very beautiful teeth they are, but, the skin colour of the lips is hugely lighter on the after image of the whiter teeth version… it’s all natural lips not lipstick… right? It’s a pale and lifeless image and the teeth are far too white to be natural, unlike the before image which has more depth and reality, which means… it’s been lightened… massively. That makes it fake. If you think the product you’re plugging to your readers is genuine… try some genuine before and after photography.

  123. Yes, I believe there is spiritual warfare. There are things that would deter us, if we allow them to. Jesus said we would have trials & tribulations. But he also said to be courageous bc he overcame the world. He is the victor; therefore through him, we are victors. As long as we remember that, we have his peace. (John 16:33)

    • Thank you so much for this encouragement, Kimberly! Amen! He has already overcome the world, and that is a beautiful truth we can hold onto! hugs xox

  124. This article is really well written and I am glad you really stood up for what you beleived in. I really believe every person is entitled to their own beliefs. But personally I really think women should focus more on birth control which the church is also against. I feel disempowerment as a women because people hate fire but also despise the fire extinguishers. I am experiencing spiritual warfare. I also aspire to be a health care professional and to be a good one I realize I need to put my client’s needs first. Every person is also going through different things and the individual knows themselve best. I think as women instead of judging, condemning or imposing our beliefs on others, maybe there could be more education provided. If you really want to help women and save children, educate them on how to have sex safely and prevent unexpected pregnancies. A child deserves parents who are loving and caring and prepared to support them in every way they can. Also mental health is a big thing now, if the parents are mentally unwell and not ready there could be detrimental effects on the child. This is me speaking form a person who had a parent who was not ready and is mentall unstable. Having an abortion is very personal and private decision. What I am trying to say you can write to express your opinion. But showing up at planned parenthood when they couples or women are going through such an emotionally vulnerable time can come off as a little insensitive. In this world girls need girls. There is a special place in heaven where women help women. Thansk for you time!

  125. oh wow, what an incredible experience. You are blessed my child for standing in the gap and oh my your Dad was so right. That bird was a satanic attack but God had the last word via Dad. Wise words, wise counsel. May the Lord bless you mightily.

PS thanks so much for stopping by my blog and liking it. So encouraging!

    • thank you so much friend, I really appreciate your support and kindness. Amen to that – my dad is such a godly man, I love his heart so much. God has blessed my immensely with my family! big hugs to you xo

  126. Wow! I’m stunned to hear a Quest Diagnostics” truck comes and pick up the bio-hazard waste… it jus sounds WEIRD saying that knowing it was previously a living human being! As a christian I often struggle with the touchy subject of abortions because it is such a hot button issue that honestly I nor any one close to me has ever done or contemplated so I feel weird getting into it, but your post is a perspective shift. Spiritual warfare is real, but notice what it REALLY is: the enemy throwing a distraction because he KNOWS we as children of God are MORE POWERFUL than him! I haven’t watched he movie but I surely will soon.

  127. Thank you for sharing your story. Although I have not participated in any kind of peaceful protest for the protection of human rights, I am compelled to do something, even something small. Your story is inspiring and I admire your courage. I will pray for you! And I will also look for an opportunity to stand up for human dignity! God bless!

    • Thank you so much Melinda! yeah, I had never done something like this before either, and it was really transformative. thank you for your prayers! big big hugs xox

  128. You are a brave and strong soul.
I wonder why they have to be so mean and angry towards someone who is quietly praying if they are so certain that abortion is good?!

  129. Planned Parenthood don’t only do abortions. They offer a range of other vital services too. Have you read Jodi Picoult’s A Spark of Light? It’s what I immediately thought of when I read the title of your blog post.

    • Thank you for sharing your thoughts, yes – they do offer other services to women, but abortions are how they keep their lights on. I haven’t read that book. Have you seen Unplanned?

      • I haven’t seen Unplanned but I read the book. I found Abby incredibly naïve and felt that the book was unsurprisingly biased. There were issues and questions raised that she never fully addressed. The delight in the closing of PP sites never got close to addressing her earlier observation that “the lives of women, who, without the services provided by this organization, might resort to some back-alley butcher” and “If abortion were illegal, what would happen to women in crisis pregnancies? Their only choice would be turn up in places that were dangerous to them. And they would wind up injured, damaged, or even dying.” There were so many statements that left me frustrated like “Besides, sexual intimacy was kept for marriage, and as long as a woman honoured that, she’d never find herself needing to consider an abortion,” – is she seriously ignorant that married women can be raped? or get pregnantby accident and can’taffor another or have a fear following a traumatic birth or have to abort a foetus that won’t live or who get cancer and need chemo or radiotherapy so abort because of their own treatment? She also seemed to think that loving babies and being pro choice was binary but you can be both. Also, how did her contraception fail twice? Twice? Surely, given her career she’d be more clued up on contraception and there’s nowhere near enough information on those choices in this book. It was a very frustrating read and I don’t want to watch the film. Final point, she mentions eight weeks maternity leave which is INSANE. There’s a lot to be said about America’s messed up health system but I’ll leave it there.

      • Dear Caralyn, this matter of abortion is absolutely horrific and not only divisive as you and your readers have pointed out but it’s a most potent deciding factor on humans choosing heaven or hell. Let’s not ever take for granted the intellect and strategy of Satan along with the demons of his realm. I too have been in a battle as you may have perceived over the short time I’ve been in your Blog Sphere, but i will state categorically now that I was attacked by Satanic forces many times going into close to a second decade and was victorious only because God has allowed me to remain in His graces, even though I’ve been a sinner and fool at times when I could have been otherwise, but he knew my heart like nobody on this earth ever has besides first my Dad and then my dear Mother. I’ve battled and got many scars both internally and outwardly, even tearing me up enough to give me added battles or burdens to fight through. I keep hanging in there because my faith has increased which shows me how God is taking the so terrible negative wear and tear of my struggles in His name and produced strength and resolve in my core. I have my moments when I wish all the bad didn’t happen and things could have been so foot loose and fancy free or happy go lucky as they were for me not too long ago; but that’s OK because the sad truth is this world we battle in now is not going to be so resolved and content ever until such time that God our Heavenly Father says ENOUGH! He is separating the sheep from the goats and the wheat from the chaff, as He must and should because I’m totally cognizant now that only the truly deserving of eternal life in His perfect glorious kingdom should be there and anyone that is less than deserving will not! This is all real and so important so we all should either wake up to the fact that we chose each day we are here on earth to go to Him our father or we turn from Him and get the consequence and opposite of all that if Good and Glorious. I want to refer to your strong point in the nicely written Blog here; “Honestly – think about it.
And you best believe that he’s going to send flames, arrows, – even birds – at anyone who stands in his way.”
This is a wonderful sharp and totally clear cut perspective i believe on what is going on with the horrid subject of abortion! You did a fine job guided by the Holy Spirit I’m sure of saying this right! There is clearly right and wrong in all things humans deal with daily and this subject of abortion is no different, no gray areas like some folks on here try to paint as alternate ways of looking at the subject, they rationalize and spell out all the hardship that the poor woman or girl face by dealing with pregnancies that are not convenient or just accidental and even from rape. Above all these things stands with Jesus the innocent new life that he wants to be; a life that have as much and in some ways more right to be living and born to fulfill God’s plan as another child of God than many of the now living and even the mothers who in some cases don’t value life or the meaning of it at all with any proper regard and appropriate humility! To me that is all poppycock and trying to bullshit the One who is above all the best bull-shitters and then some; GOD! Nobody fools God not ever, even the high angel Lucifer didn’t even scratch the surface in his stupid, pompous and arrogant plan and was given the boot to never be a part of anything good and Holy ever again; he totally blew it! We are faced with hanging in for Christ and His message of love with complete redemption and salvation for any of us who will have faith in Him alone while serving Him doing the will of God to the best of our ability or we will assuredly fail miserably just like the evil one did! Simple “choice!” Many on this post said things that were way off course and they kid themselves if they really believe those things they say; but they don’t fool God for a millisecond!
One other quote I want to add here that is quite candid that one of your readers said very succinctly; “Satan doesn’t waste his time fighting those who aren’t threatening to his plan. He fights those who stand with Christ. I believe Satan knows our potential as well. That’s why he fights us so hard.”
Many are serving the dark side or the beast and don’t even have a clue or a care about it! The world has become a very topsy-turvy place and mayhem waits to erupt at any moment in any place now; no one is safe that is why we who have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ must remain vigilant and faithful in Him with all of our discernment at work at all times! I myself see how I become frustrated and weakened at moments but I have to ask him to give me strength to persevere and be victorious in Him! God Bless You and Amen!

        Brother in Christ Jesus,

        Lawrence Morra

An added note something I had just sent to a friend as she was online while I was writing this and was talking about similar hardship upon we humans.
For now all you can do is keep on course and pray devoutly in serving Him, doing His will to the best of your ability! That is what I see ahead of me more work and not a rose petal path but still a path I can travel to its final Glorious destination with Him!
There are so many humans serving the beast now it’s pathetic and horribly so! We are truly in a world nearing being a hell on earth! I see it now way worse than Sodom and Gomorrah was by leaps and bounds!

      • Not sure if you got my latest comment on this older post but it would be good to hear back either way. Probably too busy keeping up with the current ones and might get around to this later. Meanwhile, I stopped getting updates from your blog; any idea on that?

  130. Wow! The devil must have been really mad. I’m so proud of you and encouraged by your boldness. God bless you for your obedience to Him.

  131. Abortion is murder and murder is sin, a future President could have been murdered, that’s what I learned in my divinity class. And that bird is truly symbolic of evil. I have been educated, nice work, nice blog. keep up the spirit

  132. This was absolutely amazing and we’ll written. I wish I lived where you are so I could pray with you. Going to pray and see if God leads me to do the same. I know the history of the organization and as a person of color it’s frustrating when my people support the organization designed to destroy them. Thank you for your courageous and peaceful, non confrontational stand.

  133. What an incredible testimony. Spiritual warfare is real. Standing for God angers Satan and makes us targets of his attacks. I’ve come to expect it. It used to wear me down but now I rejoice in the Lord when the attacks come – it means I am doing right by God. Stay in prayer, keep on the armour of God and keep standing! God bless.

    • Hi MIke, thanks for sharing this – I’ll have to give it a look. hugs xo

  134. “Men do not differ much about what things they will call evils; they differ enormously about what evils they will call excusable.”
    — G. K. Chesterton

  135. Don’t ever be scared off. I photographed an April 13 candlelight vigil at a Planned Parenthood abortuary in Wisconsin. About 75 pro-life supporters quietly prayed the Rosary, while six hardcore abortion supporters taunted and harassed them. One young woman bragged about her “multiple sex partners,” while another said “Abortion is awesome!” Then the threats came to disrupt Easter Sunday Masses (which they did at one area parish). They were ignored by the crowd, so they shook soda bottles filled with gravel and shouted insults. My parish priest sprinkled them with Epiphany holy water and blessed them. May that convert their hearts.

    • Thanks so much Joe – wow sounds like it was really a powerful scene. abortion is awesome — wow, that makes my heart hurt. thanks for standing in the gap for those babies. hugs xo

  136. Never underestimate the power of prayer. You stirred up a hornets nest! It’s wise to have some prayer warriors pray over you if possible. The more prayer…the more power. God bless!

    • You’re so right about that, Bobby – there is power in prayer!! thanks for the encouragment. big hugs xox

  137. This is so encouraging to read today, especially because I spent 4 hours on the sidewalk today with “Pro-Love”, a organization I just started volunteering with that calmly interacts with patrons of PP and tries to offer life affirming resources. I was cussed out today, and haven’t been able to shake the worst sadness literally all day since I volunteered. There is such an evil and demonic feeling all around the building. I thought I was going crazy bc I couldn’t figure out my weird mood since I was there this morning! It’s totally spiritual warfare. God loves those babies, made in His image. Thank you for posting!

    • Thank you so much Misty for your encouraging words. Wow that is so awesome. Cheering for you and the powerful work you’re doing to support those little babies 💛 Hugs and love xox

  138. Birds are not disgusting or repulsive. The bird may have been confused by the hat and since caught in it, the bird was panicking. How about some compassion for one of God’s creatures? Birds are part of our ecosystem and are living breathing beings. Terrible to regard them in this way. Pigeons are highly intelligent birds. Birds play a vital role on Earth that is beneficial to all living things. What a self-centered immature view to call a bird disgusting. How about respect for all life?

    • Hi Sue, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Though not the point of my post, I appreciate this perspective. Hugs and love xox
