Before the Breakthrough

Hello from Utah!!

I’m out skiing at Deer Valley and attending/working the Sundance Film Festival! My whole family is here, and we’re absolutely having a blast!

*And just a quick request: Could you take 2 seconds and follow me on Instagram? In addition to getting fun, real-time videos and pics, and quotes, and funny internet content, it’s actually incredibly helpful for me in financing this blog, so that I can continue this desktop ministry. Thank you! If this blog has ever touched your heart, I just ask that you press the follow button – it would mean a lot! ๐Ÿ™‚

So tonight, I’m thrilled to share with you my article that was just published over on WINE Ministry! It’s one of my most favorite pieces I’ve ever written. It is raw, it is uplifting. And I hope you enjoy it ๐Ÿ™‚ (And ps – that photo is of the One World Trade tower in NYC, and YES I took it!)

Here’s the opening excerpt, just to whet your whistle ;)….

Confession: In the nine years that Iโ€™ve lived in New York City since college, the city has definitely taken its toll on this midwestern gal: I no longer wave at people while jogging (that was embarrassing). I have come to expect efficiency โ€” whether itโ€™s at the grocery store, with traffic patterns, even email correspondences. But lastly, I donโ€™t really allow for much time to simply sit and feel. Because frankly, I donโ€™t have that luxury of time. Iโ€™m a young, single woman, and any time not spent working, socializing, or doing what needs to be done to keep my life running, is typically spent sleeping.

So, all that to say, you can imagine my utter surprise, when earlier this week…

Alright, see ya on Instagram, where I’ll be sharing fun highlights from the trip!

  4. Howdy, BBB, it sounds pleasant that you are skiing and making some great memories at Sundance. Your posts are extraordinary.

I saw you say on Thursday that a year ago you had a viral post, which I missed out on at the time. I can recollect the idea you expounded on (I’m a male blogger). I am pleased to have now caught up on that very successful post of yours, from a year ago (better late than never!), and I got to read what you are saying now.

I trust you are having a euphoric excursion, and that February brings more of the positive. I wish you all the best. Keep up the incredible blogging!

    • Thanks so much! Oh yes – it is such a blast out here with my family! Thanks for checking it out. Hoping February brings you positivity as well!! Hugs and love xox

  5. Caralyn, enjoy the Sundance Festival and Deer Valley. Also all the time with your family. Your testimony in Wine was encouraging all of us to depend on Jesus, no matter what our issues. Blessings and hugs!

    • Thank you! Yes! Iโ€™m so enjoying it ๐Ÿ™‚ and thanks for checking out the article! It really means a lot ๐Ÿ™‚ Hugs and love xox

  6. I have a friend Bryan Smith (dreampath podcast) at the festival now too. Lucky man, got his picture taken with Robert Redford the other day. I must say, Iโ€™ve got to put the Sundance on my bucket list.

    • Oh wow thatโ€™s awesome! Yeah definitely check it out!!! Thanks Jim for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  7. Caralyn, thanks for sharing more of your story. I found much strength to harvest from your witness.

I am not much of a skier, but my youngest daughter and her husband are avid skiers in Montana. They ski frequently at Big Sky.

    • Thank you so much for your kindness. Ooh I want to visit Big Sky!! Thatโ€™s awesome! Hugs and love xox

  8. My daughter is three years into recovery from an eating disorder, and itโ€™s been a hard, up and down journey, one I never envisioned. I started following your blog as I respect your position, both as a Christian and someone who has made their way back from this affliction You give me hope for my daughter and I appreciate that. Thanks so much for sharing and encouraging.

    • Hi Dennis, thank you for sharing that. I will definitely be keeping your daughter , you and your family in my prayers. Youโ€™re right – itโ€™s a journey, but praise God she chose life!!! Something to truly celebrate!!!! Hugs and love xox

  9. I read your article, on WINE ๐Ÿ™‚

I remember seeing a recent comment from Jeff, about the roots of your blog. This evening it was a bright yellow sunset in Melbourne, riding back from the gym. Putting the two together, it was food for some contemplation.
I want to articulate something, about the shape of your work. I see some good dynamics, that you could work with. I am not quite able to articulate it with words just now, but I will keep you in prayer, and I hope to, soon.

    • Hello!! Oh my goodness YES! We had such a special time! Hope your week is off to a great start! Hugs and love xox
