When Words Fail

I don’t know about you, but one of the things that often stands in my way of praying, is that I don’t really know how. I don’t know the right things to say – I don’t feel quite worthy to “ask” for things. And sometimes it’s like — well it’s been so long, I’d probably offend God by just *showing up* after all the crap I’ve done and just expecting things to be chummy.

But the fact is, the enemy loves to keep us thinking that — reinforcing that roadblock to prayer — so as to keep us from praying.

Because our nation is in desperate need of prayer right now.

So I thought that today, I might put my “I-don’t-know-what-I’m-doing” prayer out there, just so that if you — like me — sometimes don’t know what to say, the concept of praying might not seem so insurmountable.

Oh, my Jesus….

I come before you broken hearted tonight.

– Broken hearted for our nation, in deep deep turmoil: plagued with violence, and pain, and fear and oppression.
– Broken hearted for George Floyd, and the injustice shown him, that led to his murder. For his grieving family and community.
– Broken hearted for my black brothers and sisters, who are so deeply hurting, and tired of facing daily injustices, that myself, and so many, know nothing about.
– Broken hearted for the good cops and law enforcement who are on the front lines, trying to protect the community, and stop the violence, and who are being met with bricks and knives and bullets and molotov cocktails from many who mean them harm.
– And broken hearted for the store owners, who have had their livelihoods ransacked by looters, and those partaking in criminal activity.

I am broken hearted, Lord. And I place all these things at the foot of your Cross.

The cross, where You paid the ultimate price for all of your children. Where you bought back our sins, and created the way for all of us to get to Heaven — no matter our skin color, background, race or nationality.

You died on that cross — and proved the dignity and sanctity — of every single human life.

And I just pray Lord, that You blanket all of your hurting children in the covering of your peace. Cover us with your love. With your mercy.

Give us hearts to truly love one another. Renew our hearts to be compassionate and empathetic. Give us eyes to really see those injustices and ears to truly hear — not only Your voice, calling us to You — but also the words and pains of those without voices.

We are all one family in Christ. Brothers and sisters — one body of Christ. One family of believers. And somewhere along the lines, we’ve forgotten that.

I know, Lord, that what will ultimately solve the unrest and heal our broken and wounded nation, is when we surrender our hearts to You to make new. And I just pray that you awaken in our hearts, a realization for our desperate need for You. And our desperate need for one another.

Strengthen our leaders, and give them the wisdom and fortitude to act according to Your guidance.

And may health, peace, justice, and Your love reign throughout our burning and torn apart land.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

I’d like to invite you, if you feel so moved, to share your prayer in the comments, that we may start a prayer movement here. Sometimes it takes the encouragement of others through example.

“This is what the Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.” Ez 37:5

      • Back at ya! I was moved to tears. So tired of the hate and arguing on social media I was just about to pull the plug on Facebook. It’s a breeding ground for conflict. So thank you! Perfect prayer.

      • I feel you there. There is a toxicity to social media, but not it’s more apparent than ever. Makes me sad. Thank you for taking the time to read my dear friend. Hugs and love xox

  1. Who wrote this:

I am not a Know-Nothing. That is certain. How could I be? How can any one who abhors the oppression of negroes, be in favor of degrading classes of white people? Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we begin by declaring that \”all men are created equal.\” We now practically read it \”all men are created equal, except negroes.\” When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read \”all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and catholics.\” When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty-to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy.

  2. OH Jesus, Precious Jesus! What would we do without you! You alone can heal our land. You alone can heal our brokenness.

Sweet Jesus we trust you. Thank you for all you have done for us and all you will do.

We love you with all our hearts and trust you with all our outcomes.

Please reach down and touch the hearts of those who are hurting. Calm those who are violent with the knowledge of Your better way.

Draw our leaders to YOU. Bring us peace which passes all understanding.

    In Your precious name…we pray.

    • Thank you Laurie for this beautiful prayer. Amen. Amen. Hugs and love xox

    • Jesus you came to this earth to heal the broken and hurting. We need this so badly right now. May we stand up for the injustices of others in a way that shows your love and your peace, Jesus. May compassion rule our hearts and wisdom rule our minds. May we be voices of hope and a true example of light shining in the dark. Break us so we can be broken for others. In the powerful and precious name of Jesus, amen.

  3. Caralyn, I appreciate you sharing this prayer. We can come to Jesus in prayer in any way which seems comfortable to us. You are right . . . we need to continue this dialogue of prayer. May Jesus guide us in the coming weeks and months and years to be a nation which values life for each of its citizens. May our leaders in government and business reach out with sincere solutions to change the direction of our nation so that all people of color (black, brown, yellow, red, and any others) feel welcomed to the table. May we follow the Gospel as laid out by our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

    • Amen – may we follow the gospel. Thank you friend for sharing your heart and for this prayer. Hugs and love xox

  4. Amen AMEN. Most days my prayer is a 30 minute wander…so suffice here to say, “My God thank you for my life as it is, thank you for all I have been blessed with, I ask you forgiveness for my weakness, my err, when evil has gotten the better of me; I pray for those who need you most, the most vulnerable in our world, and for those who have suffer, and for those that will die today. And I pray we can be your light in the world, that I might be a little of your light in the world, and I thank you for loving me, AMEN. 🙂

  5. Well said!! I live in Canada, but all the Lord’s family joins you in your beautiful broken hearted prayer

    • Thank you Jo – yes we are all one family in Christ. May we remember that today and everyday. Hugs and love xox

  6. Lord,
Thank you for your promise to be with us always. You are bigger than anything, even riots and pandemics and anger. Help us all to remember that you are in control, no matter what. Please keep us strong and faithful in you, in what we say and do, and give our country’s people the clarity to see how to make change in a safe, helpful way. Thank you for your unfailing love and mercy, and for the promise and hope of a new life for us with you in peace and eternal beauty, free of injustice and fear and pain. How great is your love for us! Thank you.
    Come soon, Lord Jesus.
    Amen.

    • Thank you Hannah for this beautiful prayer. Amen – He is with us always! Grateful for His love!! Hugs and love xox

      • Caralyn, so well put. The Lord wants to hear from us in this horrid time of unrest. He knows how we can be in times of bewilderment and loss for words. I rest in that. Vertical elbow bump to you and God’s grip. – Alan

      • Thank you Alan – He really does long to hear from us because He is weeping too. Hugs and love xox

  7. The last text I sent was about numbers and 666 was mentioned in a one sentence comment. Now I have more to say like I told you I would, but it wasn’t me that’s planning to say anything; now the moment to say it came by the higher power guiding it. Still is won’t be fully what I was referencing with numbers now but a strong indicator has happened all around us that will bring more into focus. At least this is what I feel in my heart and believe I will allow God to direct me if and when He wants me to do His will or say whatever He wills.

  8. The only place to place it is at the cross because this is trouble like never before and biblical prophecy is at hand. So much evil is at work in this country alone that I don’t see a path to any proper resolution, because too many major injustices have been committed by our own Dem party highest ranking officials which they continue to get away with so what about that injustice and all the waste and evil they have fomented! I’m pissed off like you don’t want to know!
I demand justice too and who is protesting and marching for these atrocities and treason? Nothing happens but now one man is dead and the country rips open with all this madness and destruction? And protest but who was this upset about what Pelosi and Schiff and the rest of the conspirators have done? The men that caused Floyd’s death should be handled by the judicial system like any other criminals; that happens every day and it isn’t just blacks, white and Hispanics are victimized every day and children are abused and raped and murdered too and does the whole country explode over any of those martyrs? This is being played and the spin by the media and the left agenda to milk it for all its worth is abhorrent; that Al Sharpton won’t let a bad black against whites story go to waste as he makes it an us against them story as he did in the past that, exploitative heel made a fortune race baiting and puking his guys out taking advantage of any situation to further his own agenda. Evil is at work overtime. It wants to win at any cost even destroying this Nation or the planet. The Communist Chinese Party is licking its chops and isn’t ever going to be a friend we know for sure! The outpouring of ungodliness from hell itself has been prophesied for the end time and it is already in the works! Demonic influence and possession has increased exponentially and the Church knew this over the last couple of decades that this was coming so it prepared more exorcist priests. But, nothing is stopping this abomination, only God can do that now. Lord have mercy on our wicked twisted man-made evil ways of the world. Amen.

    • Place it at the cross – Amen to that. Jesus redeemed the world. He did it once He will do it again! Hugs and love xox

      • For sure and we need him to do it sooner rather than later because too much evil is loose in the world which is going to bring on global catastrophe the likes of which this planet never experienced since its creation. But, who the hell am I to think this or that, all I can hope is He will speak clearly to me at any opportune given moment to act in accordance with His will and to accomplish a modicum of good in this raging storm where we are all totally helpless without Him. See ya.

      • Hey Caralyn! I’ll have to check later, in the text the other night you may have said this, “The only place to place it, is at the cross,” and it came to my mind when writing my article “The Plandemic Path to Helter Skelter” and if you did I would insert your Blog name as credited for it if you think I should; it would be fine with me! Or if you prefer I’ll just sent you a shoe-box of cash in lieu of that! It’s your Ladies Choice. 😉 👍 🇺🇸 🙏 🙏

      • Haha I’ll take the shoe box of cash, thanks! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

      • Hey Caralyn! I’m laughing hard 😂; and how did I know you were going to say that, and would take the box hands down! 😂😂😂😂😂
One catch; I’m fresh out of shoe boxes I had tossed them out recently, but, I need a new pair of hiking boots so just as soon as I’ve figured out which ones I’m buying I’ll put your name on that one and be ready to ship! Done deal!!! 👍
        🖖 🙏 🙏 🌟✨💫 🤗🖖❤🌹🌈🌞

      • Oh, are you sure you don’t want what’s behind door number 3? I have to warn you it could conceivably be a Zonk or a really great prize! 😁

    • Oh David this is so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing!!! So powerful! Sending big hugs and love xox

  9. Remember Dr. Martin Luther King stating,

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” There are people who hang hatred in their hearts and have a grudge to take out on someone else. Regardless of skin color.

Jesus, the founder of Christianity, put it differently, that out of our hearts come evil thoughts and intentions.

Pray our hearts change. The country will follow.

SDon’t forget to say the name: George Floyd. -Jeff

    • Pray our hearts change – amen to that Jeff. Thank you so much for sharing! Hugs and love xox

  10. I woke up early at this morning and watched much of George Floyd’s funeral today. Reverend Al Sharpton gave a wonderful sermon. I personally found his words healing. I note that Martin Luther King III was also there.

    • Gosh so sad. Thank you for honoring His life by tuning in. May he rest in God’s perfect peace. Hugs and love xox

  11. Great job with your post and your prayer Caralyn -I so love your evident heart and faith – really appreciate your posts.

Thanks for asking for prayers – love that idea and appreciated the prayers posted – By comparison, my prayer would be pretty simple –
Lord, bring the healing that only you can give,
help us be selfless in our care of others – may we be part of the solution and let that start by you examining our hearts and our attitudes and convict us for our failings.
God grant us at least one opportunity to say ‘you matter’ to someone who needs to hear that.
    Amen

    • Thank you friend for sharing your beautiful prayer. Simple is always good in my book 🙂 amen! You matter!!! Love that so much Hugs and love xox

  12. Amen 🙏🏼 I pray along with you, and add another prayer. Dear God, Thank you for creating all of us in your likeness, we ask you to please keep us close to you, and make sure we are all, doing just fine, Thank you in Jesus name Amen again 🙏🏼💛

    • Thank you friend for this beautiful prayer. Amen amen!! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much Lorie – yes! Grateful for the Holy Spirit! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much Brad! 🙂 I will have to check that one out! Hugs and love xox

  13. Dear Jesus, thank You for Your forgiveness, redemption, and ability to completely save us. We need You now more than ever. I pray for there to be justice and peace, Jesus– two things that can only come from You, ultimately. In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.

  14. Father in the name of Jesus, our Lord and savior
This a critical time for our name and we need you now more than ever. While corona virus has brought this world to its knees, blacks are “fighting” for their livelihood and existence.
    Yes, we do need healing.
    Yes, we do need restoration.
    Yes, we do need restoration.
But, what we need the most is Your word.
Just say Your word and we know we will be okay…
    In Jesus name we pray…
    Amen

    • Thanks Derek – yes! I will join you in that important prayer! Hugs and love xox

  15. Amen to that prayer. Heavenly Father Abba, thank You for You. You created us all in Your image, O Mighty God. Nothing is hidden from You. You know every heart and every hurt, and You catch every tear – can mend any wound and forgive any soul. Lord, this fallen world is hurting and fighting, running from the Love that it needs…the love that it hates. Help the lost to seek You while there is yet time, and help us all in these trying times. i Love You, Lord. Continue to bless this blog and the hands of Your beloved daughter so she may keep on shining as a light for You each blessed day.

  16. Lord Jesus, in this trying and heart-breaking time, words are not enough. Your Word tells us we need to love our neighbor as ourselves. Your Word also tells us that we must not just be hearers of Your Word but doers. And yet, there is so much division and so much hatred in this nation and in the world. Lord, forgive us for that. I pray that Your Holy Spirit will fall, just as He did on the day of Pentecost, just as He did over a century ago on Azusa Street, and that we will see people of all races, of all ethnic backgrounds, come humbly before you in repentance. I pray that You will bring a great revival in this land and that we will see a unity and a transformation of hearts such as we’ve never seen before. I ask all of this in Your precious and matchless name. Amen!!

    • Thank you Roy for this heartfelt prayer. Amen! May be love our neighbors and Holy Spirit come! Hugs and love xox

  17. It reminds me of Rom 8:26-27, of not knowing how to pray… And so letting Holy Spirit

And you put it into words. I have prayed for similar for the U.S. the past week – for clear thought (including of the cross), and for God’s heart and peace (Your voice, calling us to you).

  18. Hi, I am the same as you Caralyn, I never know what to say. Being brought up in the Salvation Army though the minister often invites the congregation to say a prayer. Another thing I was told about praying was you don’t have to pray out loud if you don’t want to. Say it to yourself and besides God knows what’s in your heart & mind. I share your prayer when I think of the family and friends he has left behind, the cops that did it aren’t putting that police department in a good light. I also pray for the fact that New York didn’t need this to happen as you were just getting over covid-19. There’s a song in the Salvation Army called Thy shall come from the east and in one of the verses the words read as follows, “The black the white, the rich the poor, your colour does not matter there”. There being Heaven 🙂

    • Thank you Kenneth for this powerful prayer – yes! What a beautiful verse from that song. I love that so much. Hugs and love xox

  19. Father, thank you for this country that has given us and the world so much. It has been a light to the world for freedom and for You.

Please be with us as this light flickers yet again in the face of Satan’s efforts to derail all that is good. Please work in the hearts and minds of those who willfully or unknowingly do his work. Melt cold hearts with the warm blood of Jesus’ forgiveness. Give hope and courage to hearts that fail in this flickering light.

Most of all, please don’t light the light of America go out. You are still our God. There is still at least a remnant who call on You and believe You will preserve us. Father, we believe. Help our unbelief.

In Jesus name I offer these words to You, Father. I can’t be sure of my words. I can be sure of and pray for Your Holy Spirit to make intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Please hear my prayer for Jesus’ sake. Please hear the Spirit Himself as He pleads past my poor words. Amen!

    • Thank you Jeff for sharing this beautiful prayer. Yes please be with us! And help our unbelief! Amen amen. Praying with you! Hugs and love to you and your girls xox

  20. Dear Lord,

Please forgive us in these desperate for our small betrayals, of being absent when called upon to serve.

Please see that we are within the boundaries that man has drawn on Your land. Let those same boundaries delineate who and why we shall live. Please let those who have known us know that they mattered deeply to us.

Accept our humble thanks for when you have intervened, to protect those dear to us when we have been unable to reach them ourselves. Lord, plant seeds of forgiveness in the hearts of those to whom we are indebted. Let them see tenderly how it is that we have been unable to show them that same tenderness.

May there be ways to identify how it is we have let them down. Give them the strength to welcome us back when there have been transgressions. Above all, care for all for us in mankind each one as You and only You are able.

Let there be renewal and prosperity when it seems close to extinguished. Never let us do wrong when simple prayers could light a triumph. Please love those when we are unable to show them their deserved love ourselves.

May the United States recover from these terrible days, and may we find, no matter what we are living through, the strength to overcome. Experience our love. Remember all of us, Lord.

    Do not forbid a return.

    • Thank you so much Odell for this thoughtful prayer. amen! yes – may we find the strength to overcome. amen amen. Hugs and love xox

  21. Thank you for sharing your prayer little sister. None of really knows how to pray. I am thankful for the truth of Romans 8:26 and 27-” In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”

Even a groan not knowing what to say is understood by God.

    • thank you so much for this thoughtful response. you’re so right – the Holy Spirit intercedes! what a blessing! Hugs and love xox

  22. “We are all one family in Christ. Brothers and sisters — one body of Christ. One family of believers. And somewhere along the lines, we’ve forgotten that.”

You nailed it there. There is not one country in the world that can claim a structure that treats everyone equally and fairly. I think the devil has been successful in his plan to make us disaffected with each other and with God.

But the Holy Spirit has the dual role, the first of communicating a better way to us all and its only when we block Him out that our satan inspired tendencies come into view. God is anxious for us to see His way of inclusion is best for the peace and safety of us all. Never feel God is angry with us, He is only angry with sin which destroys us. So the second role of the Holy Spirit is to put our inadequate prayers into heavenly language so they are stripped of our inadequacies and are sweet music to God. He’s on our side and I believe He will bring the confusion of this world to an end and deal with satan when we are all convinced His way is best. God does not force his will on us but appeals to our reason.

    • Hi Ian! thank you so much for this thoughtful reply. you are certainly right about that – the enemy is having an absolute field day. but amen! We have been given the Holy Spirit – what a belessing. Hugs and love xox

  23. Lost people act like lost people; the fear, the looting, the senseless violence, that’s not the behavior of Saved brothers and sisters. That’s the desperation and utter lostness of men and women we need to introduce to Jesus Christ so that they may become our brothers and sisters. People in chaos need a solid Rock. Yahweh God, “. . .lead me to the Rock that is higher than I!” Psalm 61:2

    • Hi Eden, thank you for sharing this – you’re absolutely right. We need a solid Rock!! amen! stay well! Hugs and love xox

  24. Please fortify my heart and keep it open to express love to myself and radiate to others. I love know heals and is the answer possessing all power. Sending so much to you my dear and to all here❤❤❤

    • amen to that 🙂 that love is a beautiful and healing love!! thanks for sharing your heart! Hugs and love xox

  25. Father, I thank you for so many things tonight. For life, another day of opportunity to share your love with this world that needs it so very much. For your mercies that are fresh and new each and every morning. For the very breath in our lungs that you so graciously allow. For your patience with your children that have not taken the stand we should and the borders of sin that have been pushed so far away from your limits that we have this hurtful chaos today. I want to thank you for my sweet dear sister in christ that started this prayer. Father we lie before you broken and poured out. Help us Lord, fill us with your strength and might that we may be the holy people that you called us to be. May we become your hands and feet dear lord. May we reach the lost no matter the cost. May we face whatever comes in faith and always take a stand in your name. May we never stop reaching for those in need and offering to help in anyway that we can. I pray for the families grieving the loss of their brother. I pray for clarity for those whose hearts are filled with hate. I pray that our nation finds unity once again and comes back to the established words of our forefathers. A nation that truly trusts in God once more. In the precious name of our dear LORD and Savior, in Jesus name AMEN.

    • Hi Shonda, thank you for this beautiful prayer. Amen – His mercies are new every morning – what a blessing that is. I am so touched by this, thank you. Amen. Amen amen. Hugs and love xox

  26. C.S.Lewis says it best. “The whole dance, or drama, or pattern of this three-Personal life is to be played out in each one of us: or (putting it the other way round) each one of us has got to enter that pattern, take his place in that dance. There is no other way to the happiness for which we were made. Good things as well as bad, you know, are caught by a kind of infection. If you want to get warm you must stand near the fire: if you want to be wet you must get into the water. If you want joy, power, peace, eternal life, you must get close to, or even into, the thing that has them …. They are a great fountain of energy and beauty spurting up at the very centre of reality. If you are close to it, the spray will wet you: if you are not, you will remain dry. Once a man is united to God, how could he not live forever? Once a man is separated from God, what can he do but wither and die?”

    • Oh wow what a powerful quote – thank you so much for sharing that. You’re so right. We need to stay connected to God! Hugs and love xox

  27. Caralyn, you have given good perspectives on this situation. Many minorities across the world end of feeling unprotected and brutalized. Today I watched a YouTube video done by Dr. Caroline Leaf who does work on how our thinking affects our brain. She interviewed her 2 African-American son-in-laws who told their stories about how they were treated. If you have the time, it is worthwhile to watch and they do give some suggestions for change.

How to begin unwiring racism from our brains & society

    • Thank you so much for sharing this powerful perspective. I will absolutely watch that video. What an important topic. Thank you for passing it along. Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much Stephen! Yes, He does hear all prayers, and how blessed are we to have the Holy Spirit! looking forward to reading your link. Hugs and love xox

  28. Dear Caralyn,

I believe that a true prayer is not spoken loudly, nor as an automatic saying, or at a certain time performed. It is the language of the heart that spontaniously communicates with God. A real prayer surely does not ask for personal things, it rather asks for helping others, for those who suffer, for those who live in poverty. It is the compassion of the heart that cries when seeing so much injustice and misery in the world. We need not to ask God for our personal things as He knows our heart and He surely can differentiate between a prayer that rather comes from the mind than from the heart. To perform a true prayer we first have to be true to ourselves and others. However, it is our mind that covers this honesty in us and lets us do things rather run automatically then things spoken with our heart in full consciousness. On the other hand when we ask God to help us wash away our inner dirt, this is then not an egoistic wish but it is the true awareness of our own dirt, a prayer done out of helplessness and humbleness. Our state should be that we have this conservation with God permanently, then it is a timeless prayer, a permanent connection with God, our Father.

Thanks, for sharing, my dear friend 🙂
    Hugs and love

  29. Hi Caralyn 🙂

as you may have surmised by now, there are quite a few things I am skeptical about. I don’t feel like debating any of these issues, because I don’t feel like I know more than anyone else on such matters.

Likewise, there are many starry-eyed Folks who like to refer themselves as “humanists”, “scientists” or some other positive-sounding term like that. When people call me negative, I like to point out that negative really only means a change of direction, and from that perspective all progress relies on negativity.

Following that famous Ghandi quote, perhaps one could say something like “express the expression you want to see expressed in the world” … and then whatever you feel good with will probably work for any- & everyone else, too (or else they will come back by expressing more, too).

The part that I spend a lot of time thinking About are the expressions of other entities in the world / universe / whatever — so for example the things our environment is expressing to us (and whether things like mass extinctions are good or not-so-good news).

Whatever — I just thought that might be a reply that might be worth writing … at least that’s what my intent was. 😉

    • Thank you so much for sharing your heart on this. Lots of food for thought here, and i appreciate you joining the conversation! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you Jenny Marie! I’m so glad this resontaed with you. How blessed are we to have an intercessor in the Holy Spirit that speaks for us when we don’t have the words! 🙂 Hugs and love xox

  30. Thank you Caralyn! Your prayer moved me to tears, this is such a sad time and your prayer was just what I would have said myself if I was as articulate as you. I am going to keep praying it.

    • Thank you so much Veronica, I’m so glad this resonated with you 🙂 Yes – our world needs prayers right now so much. I appreciate you stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  31. Your prayer is so heartfelt and what I would like to pray right now as well. Thank you, Caralyn. 🙏

  32. >> well it’s been so long, I’d probably offend God by just *showing up* after all the crap I’ve done and just expecting things to be chummy.

Oh.. I know the feeling well. But that is the beauty of our God. He is just so loving and forgiving. He is the Heavenly father and I don’t know of any loving father that will just refuse a child that comes to him.
That is the beauty of being a Christian. We have free, unhindered access to throne of God to make our voices heard. Not to mention that God reads our hearts and thoughts and he already knows what we need and want.

When it comes to the situation that is plaguing your nation right now Caralyn, I thank God that I am not in the US right now… Because it is hard to be right in the middle of it and be objective; isolating yourself from emotional narrative being peddled by the media.
I began to ask a series of questions on social media about where were these people when members of the black community were targeting Asian people over the Covid. I asked a question about why weren’t those targeted as acts of racism. Why does the narrative talk about the racism when the victim is black or only if the racist is a white person? No one answered.

By not playing along and not posting black backgrounds, I have been accused of being as bad as the white people or worse. I know many people in the world are doing so to just align themselves with a great cause or do the next trendy thing.
I don’t deny there are racist people in the world. I deal with such types here constantly. The difference in between me and the much of the black community in the US is that I don’t get bitter; I get better.

And there are a number of Black people in the US that have done exactly the same, because they have realized what is really plaguing the black community right about now. It’s not police brutality, nor is it systemic racism. I used to be a believer in systemic racism existed in the US, but I don’t anymore. And it was these black people that changed my mind.

Candace Owens created a great video describing the current issue.. I encourage people to watch it before Facebook takes it down. I’m sorry to say that Social media is heavily censored these days towards a particular narrative and if a certain video against it gains traction, it will not stay on air for long. So please watch it..

    https://www.facebook.com/realCandaceOwens/videos/273957870461345/

What Candace is saying is not wrong. A few months ago.. there was a BLM protest, where a woman was claiming justice for her brother. The wanted the person that killed her brother to be brought to justice. What the woman or BLM did not say is that her brother was shot by a scared elderly lady while he and two of his friends were in her house to rob the place. Fortunately CCTV in her home recorded the incident. When confronted by the scared woman, the man charged towards her and attempted to strike her down when he was shot. His friends hear it and split the scene leaving him behind. This video was shown by only one news channel.
Had the poor lady died in the incident, no one would have heard about it. That is why I don’t support the BLM.

Here are some more videos are here for you.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbFPHp-4bFs

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQW6GjKHNuM

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oww-4wdrvgI

These videos need to be shared over and over. Because I’m tired of opening my social media feeds and seeing the awful one sided narrative and violence. Its becoming less and less about police brutality or racism and more about disrupting the economy, the neighborhoods, etc. The excuse is speaking and acting out against racism or Police brutality towards black community, but there just seems to be a more ulterior motive.

    • thank you so much for this beautiful response. you’re so right — Our Father really is so loving and forgiving, and how blessed are we because of it. These issues, and the climate around them, is so charged, and emotional, and rightly so. I pray for solutions, i pray for healing, i pray for peace and i pray for love and empathy. I appreciate you passing along those videos. i will watch and pass them along. Hugs and love xox

  33. >> I don’t feel quite worthy to “ask” for things. And sometimes it’s like — well it’s been so long, I’d probably offend God by just *showing up* after all the crap I’ve done and just expecting things to be chummy.

The amazing thing about our God and being a Christian, we will always have free access to the throne. We often portray God as this judgemental being – Lording over all or distant from his creation, but the truth is that he is so near, he knows what you want before you can even say it. We call him the Heavenly Father, but we forget to think of him that way most of the time.

I have my own thoughts on what is happening to your country Caralyn and to be honest it saddens me to see my friends all over the world follow a narrative that is destructive and horrible. I am actually surprised how there are celebrities endorsing the looting and saying that there can never be a peaceful protest.
Here are more of my thoughts on it. – https://julxrp.wordpress.com/2020/06/05/why-i-refuse-the-black-background/

In addition, here is a really great video that you should see.
    https://www.facebook.com/realCandaceOwens/videos/273957870461345/

She is certainly more articulate that I could ever be.

  34. Lord, please move in this situation and bring justice. Make things new. You are not only the Creator, but also our Redeemer and Restorer. Please bring restoration. Real change -positive change – cannot come apart from you. Start in me. Give me the strength to be humble. Give me the faith to follow you into the dark places of my own life and allow your light to shine into them. Transform me into your image so that I can shine your light into this dark world.

    • Amen Katie, thank you for this beautiful prayers. Yes! Restoration! Amen Hugs and love xox

  35. I wish there was no need for violent protests. But everything we have, every right we take for granted came through an uprising, an act of violence. That right to vote, we had to fight for, America overthrew the British with war, Slavery ended because of war, women got the rights that nowadays seem to be taken for granted by aggressive protesting, the battle for LGBT rights started to turn a corner with the stonewall riots. The BLM movement have tried peaceful protest over and over. It’s ignored or dismissed. They are angry. Their words fail.

I pray for change but without action nothing will.

    • Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I pray that voices be heard without violence.

  36. Ameen!! Caralyn, Thank you for this long sincere prayer! 🌹🌟 I don’t live in the U.S but I feel like the whole humanity needs a long heartfelt prayer, so I will give one a try 🙈 May God guide us to the right path and clean our hearts, May the leaders never forget about their origins, that blood and flesh is what is making us not our skin colours, May the humanity recognize the lovely rich variety we have and love it purely for that, I hope the world wakes up one day in peace with all of us a brothers and sisters living together and for each others, May God shower us with peace, Ameen 🙈

    • Thank you Yiena for this beautiful prayer’ amen amen — shower us in peace! Hugs and love xox

  37. Jesus… I pray for healing. I pray for justice. I pray that you will break the chains of selfishness that grip us so tightly. I pray that we will put others before ourselves and be open to seeing the world through the eyes of others… the obvious others like races and cultures, but also the forgotten others, like that kid who always gets made fun of or the homeless people camping under the overpass. I pray that we will have compassion on everyone as you did. I pray that we will stand on your truth and love each other during this time of crisis. And I pray that the United States of America will be a shining example to the world of your love. I pray that this country will be made great again not by military might or flashy wealth, but by the spirit of those freely willing to humble ourselves to make this world a better place and do what is right.

    • Thank you Greg for this thoughtful prayer. Amen – compassion, standing in His truth and love! Hugs and love xox

  38. I pray that the spirit of forgiveness will enter the hearts of those who feel they’ve been hurt by another race’s ancestral sins. Jesus said clearly that those who refuse to forgive will not be forgiven by God. Hatred will not be tolerated by the King of kings.

    • Thank you Rollie for this beautiful prayer. Yes! A spirit of forgiveness!! Hugs and love xox

  39. Just speak to Him like you would to your best friend. I won’t come to you like “Oh honourabla Caralyn, I come into thy presence and I beseech thee, afford your humble servant a divine peach salsa.” You’d think I’m insane, right?

    Jesus would.

  40. I pray God that you would heal our nation and take away the pain of those hurting. I pray for all those afflicted with pain and persecuted, I ask Lord that you would uplift them and bring them into your healing presence. God I ask that you be with our leaders and police officers right now and you’d encourage them to do the right thing, your will and they would bring you glory. Thank you Jesus for your presence, your peace and protection. Thank you for loving all of us despite of ourselves. Thank you for choosing to give us life by sacrificing yourself on the cross. Help us Lord to take up our cross each and every single day. Help us to inspire others to come to faith and believe in you Lord. Thank you Jesus for our life. In Jesus’ name amen.

    • Thank you friend for this beautiful prayer. Amen. For those in pain and persecuted. For protection. Amen. Hugs and love xox

  41. As Jesus said though “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”

These are the one sheep that need that guidance, that support, that love. But what they don’t need is judgement. A time will come the world changes, a time will come that they no longer need to protest. But until that day I stand with them. No condemnation, no judgement. A voice of support and love when it’s needed most. It seems like dark days right now but there is light ahead, that healing will come.

  42. I pray to the sun
    for guidance
    to the moon
    to ease my mind
    to the stars
as a reminder of infinite possibility
    to all these
as all humanity once does once has once will
may the light become my pathway

something I wrote before reading your post (total coincidence… or… ? I don’t rule out anything anymore), I often say my hand feels guided at times, it is really a strange thing inspiration, but the older I get I do feel luckier to be alive (a miracle) and I want more people to do the same, to grow old and experience as much as possible and share the joy of life, I think that underscores our experience here. or maybe I have indigestion (that was a moment of levity folks, cmon!)

    • Thank you for sharing this David. Growing old is definitely a privilege. Hugs and love xox

  43. Thank you for sharing your prayers with us, as all prayers are beautiful to God Our Father. I love the spoken word and it brings me to tears to see people share words from their heart. Most of my prayers start out the same each day recently…..
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the countless blessings in my life as all good comes from you. Please forgive me of my sins and anything that has been displeasing to you. I ask for the Holy Spirit to come dwell within me and have an outpouring across our nation and our planet. Forgive those who are being lead astray and help your children show them Gods Love and Mercy. I pray for our President, our Vice President, and all our government leaders that they would seek your guidance. I pray for each of them to have a spirit of discernment on how to make decisions for our great nation and it’s people. Thank you for all those on the front lines during this uncertain time; those who work in hospitals and those who are committed to protecting us. I lift up every man, woman and child that casts their wants aside to demonstrate compassion to your creation. Help us to show love even when we feel anger. Help us to listen with our hearts and not just our ears. Help us to look past the surface and see each other as you see us. Guide us. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

    • Thank you so much Mrs B. Amen – what a beautiful prayer – I am praying with you! And yes! Help us to show love, listen and see!! Hugs and love xox

  44. Amen Caralyn!
Lord heal this broken and hurting land. Let your light shine And disperse the darkness that has descended and threatens to destroy all that is good. Use us as vessels of your love and light and give us the courage to speak hope and truth to those lost in that darkness.
Thank you for delivering us from the virus, dispel the fear and the lies that perpetuate the fear and forgive us for lashing out at one another in frustration. Only your love and your truth can heal the hearts of this land; that we acknowledge and seek.
In Jesus name, the truth the light and the way, and in his name alone we pray— amen.

    • Thanks so much Dan for sharing this heartfelt prayer. Amen – heal our brokenness! Hugs and love xox

  45. God, forgive us. We have sinned against You, and we have taken justice into our own hands. We have broken man’s laws that You told us to obey.
God, we have murdered because we perceived someone hated us.
God, we have destroyed because we saw others doing it. We allowed anger, frustration, and a mob mentality to cloud our judgment.
God, we laughed at the suffering of others.
    God, forgive us. We repent.
God, forgive us for the injustices of humanity.
God, forgive us for letting hate, anger, and frustration control and overtake us.
God, forgive us for blaming others for the shortcomings in our own lives.
    God, help us.
God, hear our cries, and don’t turn away from us.
God, we are desperate for You.
God, we restore peace and civility to our nation. God let us respect each other once again.
God, place kindness, forgiveness, and love in our hearts for one another once again.
God, turn our hearts that have become cold and stone into hearts of flesh.
God, unroot all hate, frustrations, bitterness, anger, and blame from our hearts.
Father, let love grow there instead.
Father God, heal every broken heart and dissolve all fears and anxieties.
God, help our nation recover for the destruction we have caused. God, help every person and family recover what was lost. Let their new livelihoods and businesses flourish like never before. God, let this recovery be quick.
God, expose all those individuals behind this unrest. Expose all the lies told to us to make us pawns in their evil plans.
God, let them be held accountable for all the death and destruction they caused with their lies and evil plans.
God, if they did it for money or more power, expose that.
Once You expose these things, God, we will not seek revenge on them. We will let You avenge your people instead.
God, restore America quickly. God, bring back our jobs and livelihoods restore America back to Her glory.
In the name of Jesus, we pray in agreement. Amen.

    • Amen Amanda, thank you for sharing this powerful prayer. Hugs and love xox

  46. Beautiful prayer, Caralyn. It echoes my own prayer, so I won’t add more.
We are very blessed to share the divine gift to pray for all involved in this situation – forgive and love them.

  47. Praying for God’s healing in his world, our hearts and our lives. Such a sad, sad time and I am broken. Beautiful post. Blessings to you and your mom.

    • amen – praying with you. For His healing in this world that so needs it right now. It breaks my heart too. sending so much love, my friend. xoxo

  48. What I see for this world is for everyone to become aware of their connection to the Divine, however they see the Divine;Jesus, Buddha, God, etc. I see everyone becoming aware that through the Divine they are also connected to each other, for we are all in this together. And I pray that we begin to see the Divine within ourselves and within everyone we meet. We are all kindred souls no matter our race, gender, SES, occupation, past history or current situation. I pray that we can accept everyone who crosses our path for who they are in this very moment and treat them with kindness and compassion. And I pray that we can love ourselves, that we can know that we are loved beyond measure and that we are stronger, more capable than we think. Many blessings to you and to all!

    • Amen to that – when we realize and appreciate Whose we are, then we realize how loved we are, and how much value we have as children of God. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

  49. Dear Jesus, our nation is hurting and it is because they have forgotten you made all people from Adam. They are all one race and don’t realize it. It is not their color that gets a person in trouble or in jail. It is that person’s wrong actions. If they knew you, Jesus, they would not do things that are illegal. If they knew you, Jesus, they would love their neighbors as themselves, just as you told them to. Forgive us as a nation for turning our back on you, Jesus. Forgive us as Christians for not sharing you with others. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen

    • Amen. Thank you Mary for this beautiful prayer. Amen – forgive us. Hugs and love xox

  50. Very needed prayer! Lord God, please heal the hearts that are broken and comfort the families that are mourning in Jesus name. Please help us to see, to hear and to know what we must know in Jesus Christ. Father, forgive us for our sins and our silence on every matter that we needed to pray for, speak about or against. Lord Jesus, open the eyes to our heart, and help us too, Jesus, to love others as you commanded us to in Jesus name. Thank you Abba. Amen!
