I Took a Covid Test

Ugh. I swear, all I have done today is “stress eat” and I’m not even kidding.

OK – well maybe that’s an exaggeration. I worked, I showered. But at least it feels like it.

I’ll take an inventory of my fridge later on and let you know the real damage. But I can say this…there is no more almond butter in this house, I’m telling ya that, right now!

I, friends, am in the midst of a classic case of “needing-to-take-my-own-advice.”

Anyone else ever experience this humbling phenomenon?

Long story short:

Last week, I was FaceTiming with my sweet niece. She’s seven, and as cute as can be. And she was asking why I was not up at our family reunion with everyone. And the answer…is that I am still afraid to fly, and potentially pick up Covid and then pass it on to my parents. Not to mention, me, myself — with an autoimmune disease — contracting it.

But anyways, I found myself having to explain to a sweet, impressionable child, why I was afraid. And the last thing I wanted to do was to instill an unhealthy sense of fear in this spunky, vivacious young girl.

So I replied that I was being cautious so as not to pass along any Covid germs to anyone. But then, I heard come out of my mouth: that it’s important to be cautious, but to not let fear control you. I said, we need to practice healthy habits: — wash our hands, wear a mask, don’t touch our face — but that we cannot live in fear, and stop living.

To which, this sweetie pie nodded along and whole heartedly agreed.

But I hung up the call, and I asked myself…am I doing that? Am I living in fear? Am I forgetting to live?

I mean, what is the one thing I want to do more than anything else? Visit my family.

And what has been holding me back? Fear of getting Covid on the plane and giving it to my parents.

And, yes, that is a legitimate concern.

But am I going to let the months continue to go by without seeing them? Caralyn…God is ultimately in control, anyways!

But back to my current insatiable nervous nibbling.

Why, the stress eating?

Well – I’m leaving next week on a road trip with a couple girlfriends. We’re driving to Maine. This is my small travel group of besties — we go somewhere every August, it’s an annual tradition.

And well, this year — instead of planning outfits and getting pumped for some high adventure excursions — this year, I am admittedly…nervous.

I mean – in the 15 minutes I’ve been sitting here writing this post, I’ve chipped off all of my nail polish. Soo…I figured I needed to air out my anxieties and not bottle up the emotions, but rather: speak them out, and let them go.

Here’s the deal. Everyone is getting Covid tested prior to leaving. Good. I can control what I can control: ie: masks, hand washing, not touching my face, social distancing as much as possible. But then the rest, I have to just give over to God. Release to Him, and trust that everything is going to be okay.

Because at the end of the day, what a blessing to be able to spend a long weekend with three of my favorite people in the whole wide word, in God’s beautiful creation? That is such a gift, and I’m going to miss out on making memories and having fun and being goofy if I’m in my head the entire time, worried about germs and personal space, and symptoms.

I need to follow the advice I gave my niece: be appropriately cautious, but don’t be controlled by fear.

John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. … Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

And isn’t it something, that some form of “be not afraid” is spoken 365 times in the Bible. So how’s that for reassurance.

And in case you were curious about the Covid test…I actually did a mail in test, and it was honestly the best situation ever.

Completely free and covered by insurance. They overnight mailed me a test. I took it — it was PAINLESS, a swab in the lower nostrils. (NOT all the way into your brain like people say). I overnight mailed it back this morning (with prepaid postage, I might add.) And I’m now awaiting my results, which should arrive in my inbox in 3 days! This is not sponsored…but the test is by Pixel by LabCorp. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

And as for visiting my family? I’m planning a trip for September! Hooray!

Anywho – if you have any recommendations for Maine, I would love to hear them! We’re going to be spending time with Mother Nature, and hopefully eating some exquisite seafood! Be sure to follow me on Instagram (@beauty.beyond.bones) where I’ll be posting about the trip! (And also creating a vlog!) Hopefully a perfectly cooked lobster will be gracing my IG stories! • Thanks Meg – oh gosh, definitely not! No way am I ever going back down that road again! Thank you for that! Hugs and love xox

  1. When you read all thatโ€™s been written about COVID, especially that they expect multiple peaks in infections, you come to realize that almost everyone is going to be exposed sooner or later. While remaining somewhat cautious, Iโ€™m resigned to the idea that Iโ€™ll be exposed at some point. After that, itโ€™s in Godโ€™s hands.

So I say good for you! Get out and live! Take your precautions, but live. Especially with my daughterโ€™s health problems, I always told her weโ€™d support whatever she wants to try. One time her grandparents tried to talk her out of something, and I warned them to back off; my family will not make decisions out of fear. If it goes south, well, now we know. But never be afraid to try!! Never afraid to live!

September! Can you believe it was a year ago next month you came to Memphis? So many changes since then!

    • Yeah thatโ€™s a really great point. Thank you Jeff for that important perspective. Itโ€™s true. And youโ€™re right – ultimately itโ€™s in His hands. Thank you – amen! No fear based decisions. That is no way to live! I know!! Crazy! I just rewatched the the other weekend, actually! With a certain gentleman, actually ๐Ÿ™‚ hope you and your girls have a great week! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

      • He did!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I was sweating bullets the whole time, but it was actually super great! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Caralyn! I know what a HUMONGOUS step that had to be for you!!! I’m ecstatic that your trust in someone was rewarded!! If you’re willing, I’d love to hear the details – phone or email. I’m so very happy that you’re allowing some love into your life!! Hugs and love to you!!!

      • Yes!!! thank you Jeff! I know – it is truly amazing. Everyone is saying they’ve never seen me look so happy!!!!! crazy, right?! God is good ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I LOVE Maine! That was where my family took a girls trip last summer. We stayed in Lisbon Falls and drove to the botanical gardens, Boothbay Harbor, and Portland mainly for our excursions. It was a perfect place to go relax and recharge. Hope you have a great time!

    • Thanks Elizabeth! Iโ€™m really looking forward to experiencing that beautiful countryside. Awesome! Thanks for the tips! Hugs and love xox

  3. Although this seems like a warranted fear, so were/are many others, health related or not, that have haunted humanity across history. What happens when we start focusing on all the negative possibilities in life is that we become paranoid. There are ways for us to die without even leaving our beds.

Reasonable self-care still applies, but we are going to die when it is our time and there is absolutely nothing we can do about that. We know who’s in control of our lives.

Even if you would pass something on to another person, the fact still remains that you aren’t “killing” them. How their bodies react is not your doing. There is no deliberation. It is God who is in control and nothing ever happens in our lives without him allowing it.

The biggest fear most people face now is fear of death. It’s not the virus. But for those of us who have believed into the One who gives us eternal life, that fear is defeated. And we should live our lives under his grace and in the peaceful enjoyment of his reality.

    • Hi Milly thank you so much for this thoughtful response…you’re so right – we cannot live in fear, because ultimate He is in control of our timing!!! thank you again ๐Ÿ™‚ big hugs xox

  4. Yes! Fear is a liar and a bully. And all bullies are cowards, so if you face them with truth, they run. And you have the Holy Spirit in you, some pretty big guns. You and God have this. I am proud of you. As always, I love you. Hugs! Xo๐Ÿ˜„โค

    • thank you so much! oh my gosh that’s so wonderful that you were able to visit! happy for you!! Hugs and love xox

  5. I agree. Iโ€™m more cautious than some, less than others. We all have to figure out what works, as long as weโ€™re still behaving responsibly. I have seen my family and am planning to drive (not fly) to Northern California for Thanksgiving. I also had an outside movie night with friends. Some wonโ€™t do that, and thatโ€™s okay. Iโ€™m happy youโ€™re going to have some fun!

    • Hi Paula! thank you so much – you’re right – we have to figure out what works. Oh that is so great that you’ll be seeing them! thanksgiving will be here before we know it! Hugs and love xox

  6. We have a duty to others to take all reasonable precautions and not put anyone at risk. I highly respect you for taking that test and following recommendations.

    • thank you Ian – you’re so right, we all have to do out part to stop the spread! Hugs and love xox

  7. I’ve really been struggling with the idea of “am I acting in fear, or is this just reasonable caution?” It’s hard because I check a lot of higher risk boxes AND after spending about two weeks on a ventilator last summer, I don’t want to do that again! But, man, I miss people. I miss shopping for groceries. I finally ventured out to the store the other day. It was my first time in months! (Daughters and husband had been shopping for groceries for us.) It felt good. Yet, I’m still vigilant about safety. I don’t want to get sick! I know I can trust Jesus, and courage is to act despite our fear, but this is just really hard! Thanks for sharing your own “fears” and thoughts. It’s a good reminder that I’m not alone in all of this. We’re all in it together! Harder on some and easier on others, but there’s no wrong way to do this if our eyes stay fixed on Jesus! Have fun on your trip!

    • Hi Daisy, thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m so sorry to hear what you went through last summer! aw, that’s wonderful that you were able to get out! praying for you!!! Hugs and love xox

  8. I went to CVS and got the nostril test probe – which as you said so vividly – DOES goes up into the brain. It’s been 2 weeks since I took the test and I can still remember the probe. LOL

    • oh gosh, that sounds just terrible!! yikes! thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much David for the recco! Those places are on our list!! can’t wait!!! Hugs and love xox

  9. I enjoyed this post. Especially the part about being with your friends and doing a annual road trip. I wish you all the best Caralyn. I’m sure everything came out fine.

    • Thank you so much Derek! I really appreciate that – yes, will just have to pray and be smart! hope you’re having a great week! Hugs and love xox

  10. Great post. God is in control. We cannot live in fear. We’re God’s people. We’re Americans. We’re doers and achievers. May God protect you in your journeys. I am sure that you are overjoyed at the thought you will be able to see your family. Safe travels.

    • Hey Sandman! You’re on a reading roll! thank you so much – You’re absolutely right – we are God’s people!!!! that’s important to remember! hope you’re having a great week! Hugs and love xox

      • I mark your posts, if I canโ€™t get to them. I always like to see what youโ€™re up to. The Lord was after me to read you last night, so I sat down and I read a number of them. Always timely. You have a gift.

      • oh my gosh, wow – I am humbled by your generous words. Thank you. You’ve absolutely made my day. Have a beautiful night xo

  11. Never fear little one! Iโ€™ve had two Covid test so far, and, both have come back negative. Just be careful. I am an Uber driver. Iโ€™m in the car with 15 different people per day and have remained safe. I am always very vigilant with the mask, the disinfecting of the back seats and door handles, and the hand sanitizer. Youโ€™ve got this.

    • Aw, thank you Tony! I really appreciate that ๐Ÿ™‚ Praise God that your tests have come back negative!! I will definitely keep you in my prayers. On behalf of your passengers, THANK YOU for putting your life on the line at work every day. big hugs to you xoxo

  12. Last week I had “something triggering my immune system” so I got a Covid test. Came back today as negative, which did not surprise me. Positive would not have been a surprise either, but I was hoping for at least a B+. ๐Ÿ™‚ My symptoms have abated, also.

I joke about it because this whole Covid thing is daunting and stressful. And worrying. New York City and into NYS was hit hard and fast โ€” unexpectedly โ€” a new strain we did not know how to deal with. It was and still is a monumental fight. And we have done well and will continue to fight.

Praying’ for you and all you followers. -Jeff

    • oh gosh, thank you, Jesus, that your test results were negative!!! glad you’re feeling better. THanks for your prayers – know that you’re in mine too! Hugs and love xox

  13. Great blog – love hearing that youโ€™re relying on God. I have issues too and understand that there is a fine line between fear and caution. Staying in His Word is the best way to walk that fine line and create the inner peace needed to get through this time.
Enjoy Maine, I lived there for many years. Beautiful scenery. Not sure whatโ€™s open during this time, one place for reasonable costing seafood was always the Scarborough Clambake – Great, fresh seafood.
Hopefully theyโ€™re still there – LOL – I would like to think they are. Another place I loved was the Portland Headlight. Beautiful, the lighthouse is gorgeous, they have a great park where you can hike around a bit, and have a picnic lunch. Anyway, enjoy! โค๏ธ

    • thank you so much! you’re so right – it in a fine line indeed — gotta remember who is in control! oh these are great reccos!! thank you! Hugs and love xox

  14. Hi to the kind young woman who writes Beauty Beyond Bones, it is, you know, not too unusual, to be visited by unheralded anxiety. I have had more of that myself lately.

Remember that you know what’s best for you and that The Lord will lend you strength, as He does when you reach out. I don’t know if all is well with you, but I can imagine that your September travel (how perfect!) will help you feel better, after the worst of the ordeal with the virus that’s been going on. I hope everything else going on in your life is going according to plan, and whether your anxiety is manifesting, I know it does in a way that’s personal to you, and that you will know how to deal with it.

You will feel better if the right help comes along, but it is hard to count on that appearing, although you never know if something like that might show up, with a little luck. So good luck coping with your life situation and God bless. Take care this week, as usual.

    • Hi Odell, thank you so much for this kind response. You’re so right – He will strengthen us when we reach out. Yeah, September can’t come soon enough! thank you again! have a great week! Hugs and love xox

  15. Loved reading it.Yes,life is full of anxiety but inhaling Jesus and exhaling fear puts things in the proper places. So cheer up and enjoy your meetings and assignments. Thanks for sharing.Take care.๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™

  16. Girl, I feel you. I just got a NEGATIVE test result back and am STILL struggling with intense fear. I am so intensely afraid of passing on this virus that I DONT HAVE. Thanks for the reminder to trust God who is the only One who controls all this. <3

    • Hi Rachel! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m so glad your results came back negative! I’m right there with you – the last thing I want to do is be the reason someone ELSE gets sick! Amen – God is in control!! Hugs and love xox

    • And I think that once I’m there, I’m going to feel more comfortable. I think right now I’m just getting in my head and dwelling on it.

      • I am right with you. If I donโ€™t have anything to worry about Iโ€™ll find something. That is from Satan GOD DESIRES YOU have His joy

  17. It’s amazing how when I have thoughts like these myself, God gives me the in real life lessons on it too! Yes, at times it’s hard to take your own best advice but really you know that everything is in His hands at all times. There is nothing to fear for fear is blocking the love. I call upon my angels to hold me extra tight in those moments and the fear fades. You will know when it’s the right time to visit. Trust that. Sending you love my dear๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ

    • That is so awesome – you’re right – everything is in His hands! Thank you so much for your kind words. Gotta call upon those angels and the Holy Spirit! ๐Ÿ™‚ Hugs and love xox

  18. My dear friend Caralyn,

We are in balance when our words, thoughts and deeds are in conformity. So it was great that you checked your own words to make them come true in reality, to be in balance.

There should be only one fear existing: veneration for God, to fear that we make mistakes in front of Him, ourselves and others that we are not true to ourselves, true to Him and others. All other fear is a dictation of our own mind, because if we fully have trust in God, all side-fears created by our mind will vanish. The lion protects His child, then nothing can come to make us being afraid. More we have trust in God, more the fear of the mind disappears. Of course, everything what we do, speak and think should be done consciously – in this way we even help our Father who always takes care of us. Your taking the test for covid19 was such a conscious provision, action.

Our future time may even get worse, but as long as our face is turned towards God, our creator, nothing will be harmful to us…

Thanks for sharing, my dear friend ๐Ÿ™‚
Hugs, love and light to you ๐Ÿ™‚
    Didi

    • Hi Didi! Thank you so much for this thoughtful response. I love how you put that – our actions and words need to be in balance! Yes! our faces towards God! Big hugs to you xox

  19. Caralyn, covid-19 is on the wane, but fear is really contagious! So often, fear is caught in the air. Isaiah 41:10 says: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.” Enjoy your time in Maine with your besties and look forward to visiting your family. Hugs and blessings of love!

    • You are SO RIGHT – fear is contagious! Thank you so much for this comforting response! big hugs to you xo

  20. Donโ€™t you just hate it when God convicts you with your own words? Itโ€™s happened to me too many times to count. Lol. Have fun on your trip and hopefully you can visit your family soon.

    • hahah you’re so right! that is the sting of conviction! hahah Thank you friend! Hugs and love xox

  21. A little bit of fear may make you feel alive, anyway, do not fear for the covid-19 once you stay away carefully from every potential infection.AHA, like seeing your every share of fun life.

    • You’re right – got to be cautious, but not so much that we stop living!! thank you so much for the encouraging words! Hugs and love xox

  22. For me, I know that fear is a bait for defeat. The opposite of faith is doubt. And anxiety is the cardinal proof of doubt…we can’t win this war against coronal virus by fear. Sadly, here in Nigeria, people (government and law enforcement agencies inclusive) are feasting on the virus as a way of making money by promoting fear of the virus in people. I pray this virus thing will be reduced to mere malaria. We conquered Ebola, This covid19 too will be cursed from its root๐Ÿ™‚

    • Fear is bait for defeat – WOW! Chris, those are such powerful words! thank oyu for this thoughtful response. I’m sorry to hear the situation in Nigeria. I will join you in that important prayer! Hugs and love xox

  23. Thank you, this came in just as I needed it; ‘ that we cannot live in fear, and stop living because ultimately God is in control always!’ I needed that reminder. Thank you. And do have a wonder time in Maine with your friends.

    • Thank you so much Sparkle! I’m so glad this resonated with you! yes! God is in control! Hugs and love xox

  24. Love the post Caralyn, You know the UK has stopped flying to certain parts of Europe again because they are in lockdown for 2nd time. UK restidents on holiday in these countries will have to self isolate for a fortnight

    • Thank you Kenneth! Oh gosh a second lockdown! I will be praying for you all!! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much Sara! You’re so right – moments are meant to be cherished! Hugs and love xox

  25. I know fear always seem to creep itโ€™s ugly head in our lives. I then go to my prayer closet and ask for forgiveness but God knows weโ€™re His human children and we will worry. In the end like you said He is in charge and His Will shall be done. You will be fine. Be safe and have fun. Blessings.

    • Oh I love that so much – taking our fears to God is the best possible remedy. You’re absolutely right! His will be done, and that’s what we should ultimately be seeking!! thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much Eleanor! Yes, I am so looking forward to God’s beautiful scenery! Hugs and love xox

  26. Great post BBB. I’ll be in Maine as well, hope you enjoy your trip. Maine has had an amazing summer so far. Thanks for sharing.

    • Thank you so much! Oh that’s so awesome! Hope you enjoy your trip too, and get some yummy seafood! Hugs and love xox

    • thank you so much Jim! I’m looking forward to exploring God’s beauty! Hugs and love xox

  27. Wonderful post as usual! All the best! Fear tends to cloud truth. I agree that we should be cautious but not be overcome with fear. Have fun and be safe dear!

    • Thank you so much danielle! ๐Ÿ™‚ Wow – what a powerful thought – fear clouds truth — AMEN to that!!! Going to remember that! Hugs and love xox

  28. Have fun, Caralyn! Lifting up prayers for a negative COVID results for you and your travel companions, too. I always google “prominent Catholic locations” for a perspective trip – perhaps a few interesting sites will pop-up as a result for you!

    • Thank you so much Dawn! I appreciate your prayers! Yes, me too! Oooh what a great idea! Definitely add Fatima to your list of places — it was such an incredible experience — once the pandemic is over, of course. Because they do a nightly rosary candlelit procession through the town — thousands of people – it is so powerful! Hugs and love xox

  29. Just be careful, Caralyn. No, we should not live in fear but we should live wisely. Wear a mask, stay away from crowds, and just be smart. And have a great time with friends, then family. Ted

    • Thank you so much Ted! – that is absolutely right — not in fear, but wisely! thank you! Hugs and love xox

  30. It will be SUCH a culture shock to leave the Northeast! OMG the degree to which I wanted to yell at people on the street, “You have the whole sidewalk if you want to go maskless. Don’t get that close to me!” But, for all that, we were able to maintain distance throughout our recent Red Zone sojourn and quarantine without issue afterward. Honestly, our getaway really made me feel like our new “normal” wouldn’t have to be so hard if we all just used the travel procedures we did. We tested before for the sake of not accidentally being carriers to those service industry people we’d be around and the friend who taught us sailing (as their still such debate about when/if those who’ve had it might be able to spread it again), social distanced to the level of our norm out here even though the rules were laxer there, then quarantined again. Enjoy your safe and responsible trip! It is possible!

    • Thank you so much! You’re right about that – a culture shock is in store for sure! I’m glad you were able to get away!! that’s wonderful! Hugs and love xox

  31. well, it ain’t ski season so I will save that info… but this season Kennebunkport for sure, a little kitsch ? ok… yeah, but some great boutiques and fabulous dining (if they are open now.. maine was pretty locked down due to their governor), nothing beats cold water lobster… not even catching your own during the florida spear hunting (2-3 days usually) season…. maine lobsters are really the biz… nothing like it…

  32. Good for you! I live in a hotel in Massachusetts, and we have lots of people coming in from NYC, and lots of other places (FL and AZ and the Carolina’s, which makes me a bit nervous, but that’s how it is), and I have to say that when I let go of the fear I was actually inspired. People are great about masks and distancing. There seems to be a whole new respect for other humans that I haven’t seen in a while. I am friends with a lot of staff at the hotel since I live here, and they work hard on their end to keep things safe. So far, no cases that I have heard of. When we sign into the pools, we have to leave a time, name and # so we can be contacted if we have been exposed. So far, so good ๐Ÿ™‚ Life is much better with caution but not fear. Hope your trip is fabulous!

  33. I was in a local store that does not require masks and I was not wearing one (if I don’t have to I don’t). I bumped into a friend and she jokingly said, “Oh, you’re one of those?” Yes. Yes I am. I am one of those that believes God has a plan for me. I am one of those that believes that when my time comes, God will let me know. I am also one of those that lets the Spirit guide me. If I get the impression to put the mask on, I do. If I feel good about the situation, I don’t.
There is only so much precautionary life choices that we can make to help prolong our stay on this Earth. In the end, when our time is up, it’s up. Yes, we can cut it short by our own stupidity, but then, so can a complete stranger. You must live they way you feel you must live. God will judge us by our works and intent. Being concerned for your family is legitimate. Concern for yourself, legitimate. But you cannot let fear control you. Do what you feel is best for you and don’t let others drag you down.
Also, have fun on your trip. You deserve the time.

  34. You are absolutely correct. God is in control of all of it. Do your best and He’ll do the rest. Hmm. That was pretty catchy…but true.

I have tickets to fly into RI in Oct. We go every year twice a year. WE GO ALL OVER. Ri, Massachusetts,
    NH and Maine.

We’ve been all the way to Boothbay (small area, shops, etc) and took a boat ride out around the Islands and lighthouses. Was great!

We always drive right along the coastline. Great views. Going to cape Nedick is fun. Restraunt is great looking out at water and lighthouse.

  35. As a healthcare worker, all I can say is be safe and be smart. Not to scare you though, multiple testing needs to vmbe done where possible. Especially in light of false negatives. Get enough rest, manage your stress levels as much as possible and boost your immune system with a nutrient-rich diet. I’ve been making my elderberry teas and tinctures in preparation for the flu season.๐Ÿ˜‰

  36. SoFreeMe, South Freeport Maine is amazing at this time of year! Find the Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster Company; at this time of year they may have “soft-shelled lobster!” They are the most succulent as they recently molted and have not filled in the new shell yet. Plus you don’t even need a nut cracker to open them, the shell is so soft! They are too fragile to ship, so you have or order them where they are harvested. Even many “inlanders” in Maine don’t know about them. We try to go back every other August or so just for the soft-shell lobster!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you so much for these awesome tips! Oh my gosh Iโ€™ll definitely keep an eye out for soft shell lobster! Sounds amazing! Hugs and love xox

  37. Well done, taking your own advice. It’s not easy. I’m glad you were able to lay down your fear and accept God’s peace about your trip. And I hope you have a great time!

    • Thank you Penny! Yes – He is in control! Weโ€™re on the road now! Feeling much better!! Hugs and love xox

  38. Notes for Maine – Acadian National Park, kayaking on a lake, Owls Head Maine and a lovely lighthouse. Most especially find a little seaside lobster shack where they pull the lobster out of the water to cook it fresh for you. Be sure to learn how to eat a whole cooked lobster, which I’m afraid means tearing the big bug into pieces. Wear a bib. Well worth the experience. Have fun in Maine.

  39. What a great post! And for Maine – Acadia National Park. Well worth the drive. The view from Cadillac Mountain is amazing (it’s in the park). Apparently Cadillac was a real person. Also be careful driving at night. Moose are so tall their eyes do not light up in your headlights. And they are very hard to see.

    • I too was afraid and completely feel you! Amen – He is. And I just got home and it was a wonderful, special and safe time!! Hugs and love xox
