Cardi B – Woman of the Year???

Well well well. How are we doing, friends?

Let’s do a quick temperature check…because…after last Thursday’s post…yowza. That comments section was full of more pointed negative comments directed at me, personally…good golly.

So let’s just take a deep breath. Everyone is welcome here. All opinions, and thoughts and beliefs are respected.

I am not going to apologize for holding my beliefs, just as I wouldn’t expect you to, either. And, as many people thought my remarks were “harsh” or “ageist,” and that I “disappointed them,” I would just like to invite you to examine the tone you read it with in your mind. Because my intended tone was one of compassion, not disrespect. And the remarks that were misconstrued as ageist, were actually coming from a place of genuine concern for the health of our President….not age.

Anyway. That’s all the lip service I’m going to give to -quote-unquote- “defending my character…” I’m sorry if I offended you, truly. This is who I am. Now, onto tonight’s post.

Which…again, may ruffle some feathers…which again, I am ready for.

Cardi B.

If you’ve never heard of her…well, tonight is going to be a bit of, shall we say…an education.

She was named Billboard’s Woman of the Year. And that…is egregious.

Not because of her musical ability, or work ethic. But because of what she represents, and the deplorable message she’s sending to young women, disguised as “female empowerment.”

This is going to get uncomfortable. And just a fair warning, things are going to get a little…”R-rated.”

Cardi B was made famous by her recent song, “WAP.”

What is “WAP?” you may be asking?

Well, it’s an acronym. For female genitalia in the state of sexual arousal.

“Wet A** P****”

Believe me, I was as uncomfortable typing that out as you are reading it right now.

But that song is why Cardi B was named Woman of the Year.

Cardi B – who’s song, WAP, completely objectifies women, reducing their worth to literally their genitalia. Who’s lyrics glorify prostitution, and violent sexual degradation, and equates a woman’s sexual promiscuity with liberation.

But the kicker is that this vulgar garbage is being celebrated as the anthem for female empowerment.

Female empowerment: “I don’t cook, I don’t clean. But let me tell you how I got this ring.”

Cardi B, ladies and gentlemen. Cardi B.

The same Cardi B who, at the Grammy’s, performed WAP live, and during it, simulated explicit lesbian sexual acts during primetime on network television.

But I’m not here to talk about or judge Cardi B, herself.

The Good Lord knows I have no room to judge, as my past is full of a laundry list of sins, 12 miles long.

How she chooses to live her life is between she and God. And I wish her the best. Truly. I have nothing against her.

What I do take issue with, it the detrimental effect that this “WAP-culture” has had on our society. And I was going to say “on young people” –– but that would be an unfair limitation, because the impact of “Cardi-culture” can be felt by people as young as 10, to my age, all the way to the Donald Trumps of the world.

It’s the newest wave of feminism. This “celebration” of a fast life where sex has become transactional, meaningless and what’s expected when you meet up with that guy you just met on a dating app. (We’re the generation that killed romance, remember?)

What message are we sending to our impressionable young girls? She’s right on the cusp of entering womanhood, and we’re telling her that her worth and value and dignity are determined by her genitals — her WAP — and that her sexual conquests are going to be the most important achievements she earns.

Where have we gone so terribly, terribly wrong?

And liberal feminists are completely on board. After all, it was the invention of the birth control pill back in the 1960’s that birthed the new wave of feminism and brought about the sexual revolution.

But how are we celebrating the creator of this WAP culture with “Woman of the Year?”

Seriously? Are they joking? Is this some kind of ironic stunt? Because when you look at how this song has actually degraded women — not just lyrically, but it real life…it is ludicrous.

Hookup culture. Meaningless relationships that leave women feeling worthless and used. And — let’s call it like it is: this song normalized rape culture.

Rape culture: which blames the rape on the victim as the instigator. Rape culture: which implies that a woman is asking for it by what she’s wearing or how she’s dancing.

This song is glorifying that.

Lock. Stock. And Barrel.

Because it communicates that, yes…a woman wants to be beaten, tied up, used sexually and it gives the “all clear” to men who wish to fornicate without consent.

We have completely forgotten where we came from.

We’ve thoroughly forgotten who we are.

We’ve utterly abandoned how God defines us, and what it truly means to be a woman.

Let us remember Proverbs 31, and how it describes that of a noble woman more valuable “than rubies.”

“She is clothed with strength and dignity…She speaks with wisdom…Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

It celebrates her work ethic. How she provides for her family and conducts smart business affairs. She has a family and a husband and they are blessed by her strength and feminine power.

Pope John Paul II praises the feminine genius, saluting all the gifts that make us uniquely equipped to bring our distinctly feminine qualities into whatever we do.

Female Empowerment is not how many men we can rack up on our “sexual roster.” Actually the exact opposite, because when all is said and done, that will leave a woman feeling nothing more than empty and powerLESS.

True Female Empowerment is actually the spiritual and moral strength of a woman who harnesses her feminine genius to battle evil and work for good, while upholding humanity.

An empowered female recognizes her gift of self. Her gift of a willing spirit – saying YES to life, to God, to the life He has planned for her as the Crown of Creation.

An empowered female is sensitive to others’ needs, and generously exercises compassion, empathy, love and charity.

A truly empowered female knows that her worth is far greater than her bedroom performance. But rather, that she is a daughter of God, created on purpose, for a purpose. And nothing can diminish that inherent value and dignity.

Not an eating disorder. Not any stain on your past. Not even composing a song about WAPs.

The dignity and value of a woman cannot be added to or taken away. Because it is in every fiber of our being, as God’s creation.

Imagine if that was the message we were sending to young women, instead of this twisted filth comprised in WAP.

What a world that would be.

Who would YOU bestow with the honor of Woman of the Year?

“This is what the Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.” Ez 37:5

    • Thank you Scott! I’m glad this struck a chord with you! 🙂 It’s wild out there! Hugs and love xox

      • It should resonate with everyone. We have daughters and the conflicting messages they’re receiving about being professional and independent and then this is splashed and supported by the media cartel. My heart breaks for kids.

      • you’re SO right. media cartel. It’s terrible. They need *real* role models!!

  1. Keep speaking up and speaking out. Cardi B is not the right role model for young women. Billboard might have been going for big sales by naming her. But character and truth win in the long run.

    • Thank you so much John for the encouraging words! I agree – character and truth for the win for sure! glad you stopped by! Hugs and love xox

  2. Bravo Caralyn, bravo for telling it like it is. I have never heard of her and that I’m glad for. She’s a horrid example of how young ladies and women should behave. And some people fail to understand why America is sliding down the slippery slope. God bless you. 🙏🏻❤️

    • Thank you so much John! I’m so glad this resonated with you. Yeah, you’re definitely better off not knowing of her. I agree. it is absolutely terrifying to think about what young people are exposed to!!! Hugs and love xox

    • I agree, Marla. It is terrifying to see what young people are being fed. terrifying. i look forward to reading your post! thanks for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

  3. Oh. How. Awful. Your comments brought tears to my eyes and chills down my spine. Thanks (unfortunately) for educating us on this atrocity. Scriptures have warned us over and over about those who call evil good (see Isaiah 5:20-21). May God have mercy on our nation for our willing descent into these depths, and may women wake up and see the abominable fate they are gullibly accepting. Let’s hope that Cardi B starts to lose fans and money over all this and wakes up, too. You have spoken the truth, and God’s truth is what will set people free.

    • thank you friend for your encouraging words. You’re right – it is terrifying to see what young people are being fed as “truth” and “good.” I’m afraid our society is going to have to hit rock bottom before we realize the need for a change. Big prayers are needed! Hugs and love xox

  4. You did it again precious young woman! Yes, I agree with Mr. Harrell keep up your courage, boldness, and continue being a defender of purity of mind, body, and spirit. You rock-the type of woman I want for my son. Love your heart!

    • thank you so much for your encouraging words, Giselle! awww, what a kind thing to say!! yeah, it is really scary to see the “role models” kids have today, like Cardi B. Woman of the Year…goodness gracious. Thanks again for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

      • I know well, cause I’m a 6th grade English teacher, teaching in a title 1 community with kids copying celebrities that are NOT wholesome role models. 🙏🇺🇸and the 🌏 in general!

      • oh my gosh – that is amazing. You rock. teachers are such heroes! Your job is so important in the lives of those young people! praying for you and your students!!

  5. I pray one day she looks at herself in the mirror and finds the reflection is immoral. That’s all I will say since we are not to judge, especially not to judge unbelievers. God Bless.

    • I will join you in that prayer, Sandy! And that she then will feel the strong, merciful arms of Jesus, taking her as she is, and loving her where she’s at! thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  6. Thanks for the new edition of my dictionary, it’s odd, words do matter, but the context should always be understood, music is often used by many as a sign of rebellion, nothing more, and given the state of the planet and the useless promises uttered by one leader after another, as they do, it’s proper for people who are young to distrust them, Jesus even makes the point too, you might enjoy what you hear, but what do you make of their actions afterwards.
stay safe in this odd world, thanks for the post, amen

    • hahah oh my gosh, too funny. yes – that’s a new hat for me: merriam webster! haha That’s a great point about music. Even the beatles could be seen as rebellious at the time. thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  7. Beautifully written, Caralyn! I look at the photo of Mother Theresa and see true beauty in her love and charity. Of course, she may not have the “modern beauty” we are used to in Hollywood, but the beauty of her heart is eternal. I hope that Cardi B, a physically beautiful woman by Hollywood’s standards, will one day know Jesus and also cultivate a heart of true beauty found in His Word. And this is also a convicting reminder for me to remember to pursue the eternal qualities of a gentle, quiet, feminine, spirit so precious to God.

    • thank you so much Emily! I’m so glad you enjoyed the post! Yes – that is my favorite photo of her. i think she is absolutely breath takingly beautiful in it. and to think that she struggled with unbelief at times. she is amazing. Yes! i will join you in that prayer for Cardi! Jesus’ love and mercy are life changing! Hugs and love xox

  8. At a time when psychologists and experts in addiction disorders are literally screaming the warning that the unchecked spread of porn is now a serious mental and emotional health issue, the very last thing society needs is to glorify women who encourage participation in the scourge that is pornography! As you put so well, nothing is more demeaning and detrimental to the advance of women’s rights than to tell them only their sexuality defines their worth. May everyone revolt against this horrible trend and shame those like Cardi B who are making money from propagating filth.

    • you’re so so SO right, Rollie. Porn is a pandemic of epic proportions. Truly. It is terrifying. And people have access to it for free right from their smart phone in their pocket. amen. thanks for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

  9. Good for you girl! I love that your not afraid to speak your mind. Totally agree with you. Keep spreading the truth no matter what others say.

    • thank you so much!!! i appreciate your support!!! yes – i think a lot of parents are unaware of the perversion of the music their kids are listening to, and what they’re watching on Tik Tok. it’s really scary. thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  10. You find American pop culture gross, no news there. You aren’t fond of Blacks — that’s what I’ve seen from you before.

As to your take on women and sex, it’s interesting that it’s the role prescribed by conservative men you find so appealing. Especially because you don’t live that life — no family, husband, or kids.
As you say you are entitled to your opinion — entitled.

For a writer who thinks your posts are misread and people miss what you’re saying, well, that’s your fault. Perhaps you need to reread before posting and learn to read between the lines. You know hermeneutics.

Also, other than the bible, what is the last book you read?

    • Thanks Steven. Your comments always make me feel so validated. And wouldn’t you know…the last book I read was one I was a contributor to. That and…”How to Find Your Soulmate Without Losing Your Soul.” So there you go. Hugs and love xox

  11. Well, this will sound cliche but oh well. Woman of the Year goes to my wife, the mom and kindergarten teacher is 26 years who is a mom to all those kids doe all those years who continues to receive messages from them long after they have graduated. She has influence those kid’s lives beyond the world’s understanding. She continues to also serve in the role of pastor’s wife in a time when standing for the truth is not easy!

So, thank you did your stance and I just had to answer you call to vote for Woman of the Year!

    • Thank you so much Dwayne for joining the conversation! Yes! your wife sounds like an amazing woman!! oh my gosh we need more teachers like her. they are heroes! 🙂 so glad you stopped by! Hugs and love xox

  12. Well I like her I don’t take nothing attitude and I was a wild when I was 20 but come on she shouldn’t be what our young people want to be like I’m not ok letting daughter of mine listening or praising her thank you for your honesty and giving me strength to say my opinion

    • Thank you so much April for sharing your thoughts on this! So true! definitely not a role model! glad you stopped by 🙂 Hugs and love xox

    • Oh! and there’s a video of Cardi “dancing” in her kitchen to WAP, and her little toddler daughter comes into the room, and Cardi scrambled to turn off the song…so clearly, SHE’s not okay with her daughter listening to it either! haha

  13. You my dear! I nominate you! For this post and all others before it. (I’m truly surprised you had any negative comments on the last, but I must have read it in the intended tone. 😉 I thought it was spot on, as most your posts are) THANK YOU for always being bold, respectful, and willing to speak the truth even when it’s not popular to speak it. Please never stop. You are like fresh air in this sad twisted world!!! ♥️

    • hahah oh my gosh you’re too funny! and kind! goodness, thank you 🙂 I’m glad you read it in the intended tone 😉 I am truly so touched by your generous words of encouragement. truly. my heart needed that today. thank you. i hope you have a wonderful evening! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you Carley for sharing your thoughts on this! Sounds like your daughter has a good head on her shoulders!! 🙂 Good job! 🙂 glad you stopped by! Hugs and love xox

  14. Great read! On board with what you said. It’s sad to see how some are desensitized to indecency. All we can do is pray for them to find the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

    • thank you so much Loren! i’m so glad it resonated with you. you’re so right- there is power in prayer, and we need to pray for them and our nation at large! glad you stopped by! Hugs and love xox

    • I was holding out hope that it was a joke…i really was. But alas, society has spoken. Come, Holy Spirit! praying for our country! thanks Hilary for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  15. “The dignity and value of a woman cannot be added to or taken away. Because it is in every fiber of our being, as God’s creation.”

Amen! Well said, Caralyn, and excellent write-up too. The words of Jesus who said, “as it were in the days of Noah…” comes to mind.

    • Thank you so much Darryl! I’m so glad it struck a chord with you! yes! those are words of truth. We’ve got to stick close to the Lord in prayer! Hugs and love xox

  16. You reminded me of a friend who lost her husband to cancer. She slept around a bit, looking for some love, some companionship. She told Julie and I it just made her feel worse. So who has those feelings when they sleep around? I’m betting most. Who will admit it in this culture and not toe the party line? Most everyone.

I’d heard of Cardi B and WAP, but didn’t know anything about her or that acronym. I really feel like the world has passed me by. Like when I had to ask you what “OG” meant! 😊 It’s scary to see just how depraved it’s all getting.

THANK YOU for having the courage after last week’s attacks to speak truth! I know you have your way of dealing it, but it’s a shame it happens anyway. Then again, didn’t Jesus say to expect the world’s hate because of Him? You’re obviously on the right track!

    • Hi Jeff – depraved is such a good word to describe it. depraved and destitute. My heart and prayers are with young people today who are growing up and trying to navigate it all. yikes. Come, Holy Spirit. Thanks for the encouragement. It was good that I had a jam packed weekend so that I could be combing through my phone all day obsessing over the negativity. it’s true – Jesus divides! He never said it would be comfortable! thank you so much for sharing this sage wisdom. I think I saw an email from you today — I’ll get back to you tomorrow on that front! hope your week is off to a great start! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you Sherron, I appreciate your encouraging words! Hugs and love xox

  17. Thank you for speaking out about this! Absolutely agree with you, and one does not need to be religious to see that current glorification of female sexuality to the point of limiting all other female strengths is wrong. The long term cultural impact of such approach is very harmful because, as you rightfully put, the emphasis is on looks and sexuality rather than any personality characteristics, intelligence or contribution/value to the society. Thanks for highlighting the issue!

    • Thank you so much Annette! I appreciate you sharing your heart on this. You’re absolutely right about that – the long term cultural impact is going to be detrimental. Hugs and love xox

  18. I could not agree with you more about Cardi B. She has also admitted to drugging and robbing men when she was basically a prostitute. My nomination for Woman of the Year would have to be Jodi Shaw, who stood up against cancel culture at Smith college.

    • thank you so much William. I know – I didn’t even get in to that aspect of her history, because after last Thursday’s post, I didn’t want to come across as attacking her personally, but she has said and done some DEPLORABLE things, without remorse. I agree! Hugs and love xox

    • If I want to turn my youngsters off something , the zThey would probably never quickest way is for me to like it. My son has gone off several bands once I started to like them. Maybe the fastest way to deal with this song is for we wrinklies to start liking it, Suddenly in my experience this makes things no longer cool. Once I started loving Mongolian band The Hu, my son said I had ruined it for him. They never listen to Cardi B, so I don’t need to bother fortunately.

      • haha oh gosh, you bring up a great point! a little reverse psychology! interesting tactic!!

  19. However our outrage, youngsters see simply as a sign something is “edgy”. In our day it was Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s RELAX, which was every bit as crude, but I confess to having loved it.

  20. I. Love. When. This. Happens.
    “When what happens, Galbs?”
Well, when disparate worldview circles overlap. It’s such an awesome reminder of the old chestnuts that some politicians will trot out, that there’s more that unites us than divides us – which I truly believe.
Today, our thought overlap was about rape culture. I completely agree with your assertion that Cardi is no one that should be held up as such a high example of what it is to be a woman or person of the year. In my opinion, this designation is simply pandering for readers. I’ve heard WAP exactly once and thought, “What is this drivel?”, but aside from not appreciating her talent, I also find the manner in which she comports herself to fail such a lofty title as Woman of the Year. What example is she setting for young people? In addition to the lackluster examples you enumerated, I’d add infantilizing women. The way she talks is childish. Saying a woman that sexualizes childishness is problematic on so many levels. Not only does it empower predators like Matt Gaetz, it encourages younger women to seek out adult behaviors that they most likely aren’t anywhere near ready for, emotionally.
It’s a terrible and dangerous set of values to celebrate.
On my blog, today’s rape culture entry had to do with people being upset at a change in the ending to the Snow White ride. Instead of the evil Queen dying at the end, it ends with the kiss of Prince Charming waking Snow White from her charmed slumber.
The issue? Insane people are calling it non-consensual. 🤦🏽

    • Exactly — what example is she setting for young people. it’s absolutely terrible. so problematic. oh my gosh i had no idea about the Snow White ride. wow. thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! Hugs and love xox

    • thank you so much Lisa! I’m so glad this struck a chord with you. it’s a scary world out there and my prayers are with the young people who are trying to navigate it!! i appreciate your kind words!! Hugs and love xox

  21. Amen, Powerful truth friend. Continue to shed light, even pull back the curtains on the enemies schemes and how we in this world are being deceived. Awesome Word and I pray that we ad God’s children continue to speak boldly when the time arrives.

    • Thank you so much friend. I appreciate your support. You’re right – the enemy is on the prowl, and uses pop culture as a pawn, i’m afraid. Praying with you! Hugs and love xox

  22. Youuuuu better stop being apologetic for speaking truth!! I totally agree and remember we are living in times where evil is good and good is evil and living for God is unpopular. Keep doing what you’re doing-some of us love it and support it with the same perspective and heart. I say this to all, judging is not correction; judging is telling someone where they’re going for what they are doing. If judging was correction and correction was wrong, why do we discipline our kids, dispute tickets and illegitimate bills, or a cold plate of food that was supposed to be warm? Judging is wrong, but correction is Godly as it says, “Blows and wounds cleanse evil and beatings purge the inrmost man” Proverbs 20:30. Be blessed my lady!

    • “Better stop being apologetic for speaking truth.” I like that! I’m reminded of, George Orwell’s, succinct comment from his 1984, “In an age of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

Now, ain’t that the truth in our world today? Alas!

    • Thank you so much for your kind words and support. it seriously means the world. you’re right – God is unpopular, and the world has sadly turned its back on God and His teaching. Great reminder! Hugs and love xox

  23. Music is my pet topic. My taste is usually more outrageous than my youngsters. There was also Wild Thing by The Troggs. Rude, sexist you name it. As for my penchant for ACDC and heavy mental . I have to have some vices.

  24. (1) This is what happens when schools are taken over by runaway grade inflation. Back in my day, she would have been Cardi F.

    (2) My thoughts about Cardi B as the Woman of the Year can be summed up in three words; I think you can guess what they are. I’ll give you a hint: it’s the same three words I used to sum up the Biden administration so far.

Keep writing, keep speaking out, and keep being you.

    • Thank you Greg for sharing your thoughts on this. You’re absolutely right – we’re glorifying terrible garbage and literally awarding deplorable behavior. Cardi F — haha true! Hugs and love xox

  25. Thank you for writing about the elephant in the room. Satan is having a field day with people right now and sadly it is the youth. I stumbled upon that disgusting video and was shocked at what people think is talent and good music.
Please God, send Jesus back, the world is not the same one where I grew up.

    • Thank you so much Kristine for your support and sharing your heart on this. AMEN – the enemy is having a field day, and using pop culture as his pawn. praying with you, for those young people as they try to navigate this broken world! Hugs and love xox

    • thank you so much Liz! I’m so glad it resonated with you!! It’s a scary world out there! Hugs and love xox

  26. Excellent post. I’m proud of you for your thoughtful and thought stimulating articles; including last week. Often people get angry and/or argumentative as a “defensive” mechanism. You demonstrate courage and prowess to stand for your beliefs and principles . As a Daddy and GrandDaddy, our young ladies are and should be proud of themselves and their accomplishments in society and the world; not as property, possession, or trophies. Hugs and Love 🤗 & ❤️!

    • Thank you so much HJ! I so appreciate your support. Yeah, sometimes standing up for God and His teaching is going to be unpopular, but Jesus never said it would be easy. In fact, just they opposite…Yes! Amen! Not as property, possession or trophies –so well said!! grateful for you!! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much Don for your support and encouraging words. it truly means so much. hope your week is off to a great start. Hugs and love xox

  27. I love you. I agree with you, Rape culture: which blames the rape on the victim as the instigator. Rape culture: which implies that a woman is asking for it by what she’s wearing or how she’s dancing is something we all should be talking about and until we do, we are doomed to keep objectifying women. Thank you so much for your courage to speak your truth.

    • Awww, thank you so much Mozayik! I really appreciate your support and encouragement. I agree – that needs to be rectified and the objectification and sexualization needs to stop! Hugs and love xox

  28. Thanks for writing this. The woman and her culture are disgusting. The Libs have gone off the deep end. These people are nuts and need to be brought to justice. She and hers are sick and wrong.

    • Thank you friend for your support. Off the deep end for sure. Up is down, right is wrong, wrong is right…we are completely backwards as a society. Jesus, help us! Hugs and love xox

    • Thanks Alice, yeah I hope your daughters don’t either. She is definitely culprit #1 to the degradation of our culture. Heaven help us. glad you stopped by! Hugs and love xox

    • Thanks Gerry – yeah a disaster to say the least!! glad you stopped by. Hugs and love xox

  29. I can’t help but think of the Hunger Games and the decadence of the people in that time . Our culture is deteriorating so fast. It’s so sad ! Come soon Jesus!

    • oh you’re right PK! great connection! Yeah the deterioration of goodness in society is scary and she is perpetrator #1. Satan is having a field day. Come soon, Jesus! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you Zina! yeah – beyond horrible indeed. We need real role models for our young people! Hugs and love xox

  30. Absolutely!! My Grandmothers were the women deserving of an award- one was a missionary in Africa and one successfully raised 3 Christian children right during the depression while losing one son to leukemia and enduring an alcoholic, violently abusive husband- and both have their reward in Heaven now, which is the only reward worth anything really. I so agree! Love you as always, beautiful friend. Hugs!XO😃❤

    • Hello my beautiful friend! Oh my gosh your grandmothers sound like incredible women. absolutely – women of the year right there! My goodness, I am so moved by their stories. The world was better because they were in it. thank you for that beautiful tribute to them. Yes – they have received the greatest reward. i look forward to meeting them one day 🙂 Love you friend! 31. The measure of debauchery of society is not the real measure of how far from God as a whole we are. Yes, cardi openly shows who she is. Effectively anyone who shows all of the best characteristics of Christianity, may at one point hear the words “depart from me, I never knew you”. Perhaps cardi for all of her sexuality, could be closer to finding salvation than you or me being born into churches but not being being born again. We are to be a light to a world of darkness, when you light up a room that has not been cleaned, should you be surprised to find it dirty? If a rooms light is dimmed or gone out, how can it become cleaned? Salt is good but when it loses its flavor should it not be cast out like it has in the past? If one wants to see change in the world it first starts with God’s own people, whether the Jew first, the early church, the Catholic Church or the protestant church. If you follow history you know God revives generations and the light slowly fades as people walk away from truth and relationship for tradition and a safe way not to contend with their own sins. So if you are upset by Cardi’s conduct I guarantee god is too. However, we know from scriptures where this world has been and where it goes.

    • Hi Jimmy, thank you for this powerful response. You bring up a great point – she is also on a journey, and who am i to judge. God loves to forgive, and His mercy is as vast as the ocean. Hugs and love xox

      • Amen. I was reading James, it is good to know right from wrong in others so that we don’t follow into the same things, however it is better to call out ourselves first and foremost so that we can be that light. We can go through life upset by all of the right things which we should be upset by and forget the truth that our own unrighteousness is as deadly with out his grace and mercy. This is the good news. I think that people can not abstain from judgement because God has placed his laws on our hearts, and to love God with all our hearts we need his undeserving forgiveness and to love others we must forgive others in the same way.
Now that doesn’t mean you are wrong in knowing right from wrong nor wrong to discuss things as the world tells us it is wrong. There is a balance 😊

      • Amen! James…pearls of wisdom, right?! My mom led a Bible study on James – super fabulous book!

    • Thank you Curtis for this response! i look forward to learning more about the Mother of Peace! Hugs and love xox

  32. I enjoy reading your articles. Can’t say I read them all due to the tempo of other obligations. I seldom make comments on anyone’s articles because I have a difficult time reducing comments to accommodate the bumper sticker mentality. If any want to know what is going on you must read history. Of course all this has “last days” written all over it but we’ll put that aside at present because those who love God and follow His teachings already know we are in the last days. Let’s talk about days past. In the early 30’s the leadership of the new Germany needed to create a super-race; a race that would do their bidding without thought or conscience. One of the 1st steps was to break down the moral fiber of the social order. Young men and women, who were raised with a moral structure, were encouraged to set that aside and enjoy the body’s fruits; promiscuity was the order of the day. Children were placed in government controlled schools and taught the same and these children grew up 10 years later to report their parents for dissident behavior and were proud of their actions when their parents were carted away to re-education camps. These same children, who were taught to set aside morality, worked to destroy a culture and willingly participated in genocide. Read the history of Nazi Germany of the 30’s and 40’s and then read passages of Daniel, Isaiah and Revelation… the 1st step is to remove the moral foundation. Cardi B is playing her part. What does it say about a society that grants woman of the year to a person who sings a song about rape culture and the degradation of our sons and daughters. The hatred that Satan has for use is no longer hidden and orchestrated from a dark corner, but paraded under the spotlight and our society applauds it. Isaiah 5:20

    • Hi Steve, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. You’re right – the end days indeed. Very terrifying to read about that time. WOW – you put that so powerfully about the enemy. you’re absolutly right – praded under the spotlight, and society is absolutely applauding it and worshiping it. thank you again for this powerful response! and thank you for your readershiP! Hugs and love xox

  33. It is how you think. And how you think is how you will act. Cardi B is just the present-day representation of the representations of the past. Even in the bible. Other than hunger and the drive to survive, sex is the strongest drive of nature. To keep it alive and thriving, many will exploit it to their benefit. It is only the exploitation that is wrong. Nature is not. God made us who we are: sexual beings and all. No Cardi B does not represent the empowerment of women and the female gender. When you see such, the finger always points to the left.

    • You bring up such powerful points, James. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts on this. Hugs and love xox

  34. Thanks for standing up for the truth, many people these days don’t know what’s right or wrong…they just follow trends which is actually destroying us… thank you..

    • Thank you so much Krista! You’re aboslutely right about that – nothing to prove. glad you stopped by. Hugs and love xox

  35. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I’m not one to get involved in politics, but I read your last post as well and felt that the backlash was uncalled for; people can be so brutal online. As for this post, I don’t follow pop culture at all, so I don’t listen to Cardi B, nor did I have any idea that she was nominated for Woman of the Year. How sad. It’s depressing to witness the moral decay and degradation of our society. May we pray over the future of our nation.

Hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself!

    – Katie

    • Hi Katie, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this and for your support. yeah the backlash was so surprising!!! i was shocked! yeah – this nomination is sad to say the least. i agree. Lord, help our nation return to you and desire to seek Your face! Hugs and love xox

  36. “Woke” culture for you 🤷🏻‍♀️ Previously some amazing women won this award, REAL empowerment, with some very notable work ethic. It’s very annoying to see how these awards Are now just handed to anyone who sings about their ‘WAP” and call it female empowerment 😂 the meaning of “feminism” has drastically changed over the last decade, the suffragettes are turning in their grave. I used to be an advocate for feminism but in the last two years I realised it’s no longer about helping women, but it’s about WAPs and sleeping with a 100 people and saying “if men are allowed I’m allowed”. I don’t have a problem with Cardi B she achieved amazing things and worked her way to the top, but this, just no.

    • You’re right about that, Beka. Thank you for sharing you heart on this. I agree – that is NOT female empowerment. it’s *literally* the opposite, and society is worshipping it, not realizing the harm its actually doing. so sad. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  37. Don’t think the birth control pill works.. Gave my cat one once.. She had 5 of the most healthiest kittens I have ever seen. LOL.

Getting back to the issue at hand, I couldn’t agree with you more. More to the fact that the ones that are more targeted by this current wave of liberal ideology are children. They are targeting the next generation with all of this; creating a society much more confused and vulnerable to be molded and controlled by the political elite.

    • oh gosh hahah – thanks for saying that – i agree, our society is so predatory on young people. i pray for them as they navigate this backwards world. Hugs and love xox

  38. You’re right. Sex must be placed in the context of a loving relationship; anything else is destructive.
As regards ‘Woman of the Year’ I can’t help wondering whether such a title is sensible. The people who influence young women deeply are those close to them, starting with their mom. There should be many ‘Women of the year’. Mine would be a nurse who, early in the epidemic transferred to an emergency hospital in London, and worked there for months, risking her life for others. I was so glad and relieved when she came through it unscathed.

    • Hi Penny! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I agree! It’s people who are closest to use who have the greatest influence. Those are the women that should be honored. Mothers, sisters, teachers, aunts, friends, nurses, therapists, coaches — they’re the real heroes! thanks for saying that – wow your nurse sounds like an incredibly strong woman! Hugs and love xox

  39. I loved your post and I totally agree with you. Women have been devalued and denigrated by this “ feminist “ culture. We need more Prov 31 women in the world.

  40. Hey, Caralyn!

Thank you for the article again, my dear friend. I first heard of that lady like 4 months ago(?); and I think, after her song was making rounds. I was deeply saddened.

Thank you for reminding young ladies (and gentlemen as well in general) that these (wo)men are not supposed to be their role models, actually all “stars” of the time. I’m also glad you mentioned Proverbs 31. I did write a short article on it around February. If you’re intrested to have a glimpse of it, here is the link:https://brokenforchrist159171453.wordpress.com/2021/02/08/charm-is-deceptive-beauty-is-fleeting/.

    Thoughts appreciated, if any.

Above all, keep on writing and striving for our Lord Christ Jesus through your pen (in this case, your keyboard!). Be faithful. Stand fast. Run the face and keep the faith. Hugs!

    – Thompson.

    • Thanks so much Thompson. I’m glad this resonated with you! Yes! I look forward to reading your post. Thanks for passing it along. Hugs and love xox

  41. Like you, I question Billboard’s version of female empowerment and their “Woman of the Year” title. I remember laughing out loud when I saw a news story on the award last year. I could think of a few others to honor, okay, let me restate that, I could think of many others who I would choose to honor over Cardi B and her choice of songs. While I’m disgusted by the song, I’m reminded that God’s message isn’t for everyone. We have free will. The best I can do is seek his guidance, honor him and give my best each day as Jesus outlined, and live my life as an example to others. Thanks for sharing. God be with you.

    • I agree Brian. Definitely questionable. You’re right – Jesus came to divide. Amen – gotta keep our eyes on Him! Hugs and love xox

  42. I avoid pop culture and had never heard of Cardi B. until today. I could have happily lived the rest of my life comfortably without having heard of her or her twisted message. Some part of humanity has celebrated the values of meaningless sex and base living for ages (you can even read it in the Bible), but they used to be on the sidelines (or in dark caves or alleys). Now they seem to be given a platform and a microphone. Turn away and stop watching. Pray more and get involved as a mentor for a young girl. You can make a difference.

    • Hi Madeline. Thank you for sharing your heart on this. I agree – my world would definitely be better off without this song! You’re right – a platform and microphone. Pray more – love it. Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much Tim! I so appreciate that encouragement. Seriously. You are a blessing! Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much Harriet! I appreciate your kind words. Hugs and love xox

  43. I just listened that song and I have to say: this is just so commercial (if you know what I mean. I’m not sure if it’s the right word). This is done because of the sale. Sex is selling…

You’re so right in everything you said! I have been wondering this a long time. why sex has become a symbol of a strong woman?! You can see it every where. It’s girl power if you dance and dress up vile. It’s girl power if you introduce your bum (twerking) like in this years Finnish Talent. There were twerkers who made it to the finals and the judges were like: “girl power, yeah!” It has absolutely nothing to do with being a real strong woman!!! Women apparently want to be “guys” nowadays but why?! If everyone behaves like the so-called good guy what’s left of us: nothing!!!

The world needs real, traditional, empathetic, considerate women who really focus on the important things and don’t sell themselves only through sex! You can still be sensual, you can still be feminine. You don’t need to be “one of the guys” and be oversexual. I am concerned about this trend where femininity is going!

  44. I have daughters and a granddaughter,!oh that would know the grace and brains and gifts that God gave them and ignore the messages we hear and see every day! Your witness is strong and brave. Don’t ever give up your voice for some naysayers.

    • Hi Lorie! Thank you for your kind words. Yes! I know that with you in their lives they will!! Hugs and love xox

  45. I appreciate your willingness to be the voice that declares our value as women is so much more. We were created in the image of God and it’s very sad to see how far our society has strayed from this truth.

    • Thank you so much Stephanie! I so appreciate your kind words and support. Amen – in the image and likeness of God – that’s where our value lies! Hugs and love xox

  46. When I read your last post, I could hear the compassion in your voice. Taking a stand for the Truth always brings out those who will try and tear us down. We are all welcome to have an opinion and to voice it. It’s how we voice it that matters. Keep standing up for the Truth. They hung Jesus on the cross for the Truth. Satan will do all he can to silence those who speak Truth. Keep up the good work.
I have heard of Cardi B and her song. I refuse to listen or even read the lyrics to it. Our society has been creeping closer and closer to this point. It was only a matter of time. Keep speaking the Truth, Caralyn. If only one person listens and hears, then that is all that matters! God Bless!

    • Hi friend! Thank you so much for your support and encouraging words. It truly means the world. You’re right – the enemy tries to silence voices by making them believe they are wrong or upsetting. Jesus said His message would divide! Hugs and love xox

  47. Don’t let negative comments deter you from speaking the truth. We are living in a society that doesn’t want to hear the truth because they would rather hear lies.

    • Thank you Sue – your encouragement means the world 🙂 Hugs and love xox

  48. We have raised six girls. Two are still at home. We teach them they are smart, strong, and courageous. The home they were removed from doesn’t define them. People who promote sexual abuse have never had to overcome the damage it does.
I am amazed how music, tv and video games target our children to promote poor values. It is considered “funny” to treat people degradingly. The punchline at the end maybe positive but everything else is rude, mean, and controlling. I asked my daughter why she fights about everything, she said it’s funny. That is the moment I started paying more attention to what I had previously considered safer.
I love that you are not afraid of the tough subjects. I know, as a woman, my value comes from Christ and I am blessed he gave me a husband who respects and loves me.

    • Thanks Niki for sharing your thoughts! You’re so right – pop culture PREYS on our young people. It’s so predatory it’s scary. Thanks for your support and encouragement. Means the world! Hugs and love xox

  49. I have two suggestions for Woman of the Year:
Amy Coney Barrett. I admit I wonder how she does it with a large family! But love her steadiness and example. When I listen to bits and pieces of Supreme Court decisions- her steady logical comments amaze me.
My other suggestion is Neman Ghafouri wh was a 52 year old female, surgeon, born in northern Iraq, refugee, settled in Sweden, got her medical degree, went back to Iraq, worked with displaced, hurting people until her death after contracting Covid.

What is wrong with our media, missing the real heroes of compassion and social justice!

    • Oh I LOVE your suggestions, Connie! Such powerful ladies. They’re really worthy of such honor! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  50. I appreciate your willingness to be brave and speak up of the ills in our culture. You have a large audience, so it’s great that you use your platform to make a difference. I do pray that the Lord encourages you and gives you strength even in the midst of the heat you are taking.

    • thank you so much for your support and encouraging words. I will join you in that imporatant prayer! Hugs and love xox

  51. Aptly put, “vulgar garbage” that is the sum total of her music and her career. I don’t listen to it, neither do I waste my time on her.
Thank you for speaking the truth, God bless you. We need more of these articles.

    • Our destiny is in our hands, and we must know what we see when we see it. And to see it is to believe it. We are all here for a reason. The reason is for us (the commenters) to decide. I saw your comment and was instantly drawn into your environment. I searched your blog to learn more about you and came away with a message that was within a message. I write that way as well. I am now a follower and look forward to the journey. And your comment here opens the door.

    • thank you Ene – i appreciate your support. That’s a good way to operate : not waste your time on the garbage! right on! Hugs and love xox

  52. It is quite shocking – it seems like each day we wake to a new episode of PunkD meets Twilight Zone. Always love your courage and boldness to speak truth. XXOO ❤️🙏🏻

    • That is such a great way to describe it! it’s like we’re in an alternative reality. so sad. thank you for stopping by and for your encouraging words! Hugs and love xox

  53. Woman of the Year? Well, from a shameless sycophant: YOU would be high on my list! Or your mother! 😁
Then Amy Coney Barrett comes to mind, and Nikki Haley, Candice Benbow, Elizabeth Chun Hye Lee, Condoleeza Rice, Michelle Malkin, or Päivi Räsänen.
Lauren Daigle’s music would qualify her over every misogynistic trashy woman, musical or political or industrial, celebrated by left wing organizations like Forbes, Barron’s or Business Insider.
For an introduction to Päivi Räsänen, see https://capost2k.wordpress.com/2021/05/01/guest-blog-by-paivi-rasanen-member-of-finlands-parliament/.
    Blessings, little sister. ❤️&🙏

    • hahah oh my gosh you’re too funny, thank you!!! oh yes – i would get behind any of those nominees!! and oh my gosh i absolutely love Lauren Daigle’s music. her voice is so unique and beautiful! Hugs and love xox

  54. Hi Caralyn, I just wanted to let you know, I skimmed over some of the comments of your last post and I have to say that I am incredibly impressed with how you handled yourself with some of them. Even with the less-relevant-to-the-actual-post criticism you handled with dignity and grace, and that’s something that I find extremely refreshing in this “keyboard warrior” world. Now that that’s out of the way, I really liked this post as well 🙂 You really hit the nail on the head with this one. I feel bad for the young girls that have this sort of pop culture that is going to shape them. Makes me wish for my childhood pop culture again where the biggest question is “did Taylor Swift *really* write that break-up song about Joe Jonas” (you know, before she started rerecording her albums lol. Sending you all the encouragement I can spare!

    • Hi Vera, oh gosh thank you so much for that wonderful encouragement. Yeah the comments section was rather colorful to say the least! 🙂 so thank you for your support. I agree – young girls need real role models! haha yeah! and when Lizzie McGuire was who every girl looked up to! Hugs and love xox

      • Oh my goodness, yes! I almost forgot about Lizzie McGuire 🙂 Looking forward to your next post!

  55. Well Caralyn you are right on again. Too many years on this old guy to know about this but not too old to recognize how far our world has wandered. It’s amazing how we can normalize sin. Thanks for being concerned enough to have the courage to witness. Great post. You are still quite an impressive agent to God’s truth. Need your messages. Thanks John

    • Thank you so much John, what a kind response. I appreciate your support. Amen – it really is amazing how we’ve normalized and glorified sin. Hugs and love xox

  56. Me reading all the low key racist comments because a Black woman won Woman of the Year. *eats popcorn*

    • Hi Peter – this clearly has nothing to do with the color of Cardi B’s skin, but rather the message that her MUSIC glorifies. It doesn’t matter who is singing these vulgar songs…wrong is wrong.

  57. Truth! When I was young Lil Kim was one of my role models and I have an excellent Mother. Evil is alluring. My sins are 12 miles long too Sis lol. I just thank God I’m not living like that today. But for His grace I could still be living a life full of sin and shame. I just try to be the example of the P31 woman and speak the truth in love. Amen. Love your openness!

    • Thank you so much Krissy for sharing your thoughts and your story! Amen – but for His grace! Isn’t that the Good News in a soundbite? Hugs and love xox

  58. Thank you for sharing. It’s truly the saddest situation for all who embrace this, but for this broken woman who lives it and promotes it.

    • Thank you so much Laura for sharing this profound point. i so agree – I pray for her. And i know she knows what she is promoting is problematic too. there’s a video online of her provocatively dancing to her song in her kitchen, and her little toddler daughter walks into the room, and she scrambles to turn off the music. So…if she’s not going to let her own daughter listen to it….. Have a wonderful day, and thanks again for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  59. I was in the car with my husband, flipping through radio stations when I first heard that song. I couldn’t believe it was playing on the radio. I still remember the days when a song like that would NEVER have received airplay. Sadly her song wasn’t the first, but it is the worst I have ever heard. It is literally music porn and it is disgusting. But why are we surprised when she was literally a stripper and she is still proud of it. Years ago I talked to a young lady who was a stripper and she tried to convince m that she loved it because it empowered her to see what she could get men to do. I remember telling her that she was deceiving herself if she thought she had the power. “Ask yourself who is on the pole and who is in the audience?” This was in the early 2000’s when satan began tricking women with this new form of feminism (i.e. women’s empowerment.)

I cringe every time I see an instagram video with adults encouraging and praising little girls twerking and shaking their butts. That show Cuties should be banned as it promotes pedophelia. I shudder to think what the next generation is going to be like if people like Cardi B are named woman of the year. Perhaps the only thing that could make it worse is if Lil Nas is named women of the year. Shoot, now that I put it out there it will probably happen next year.

  60. I totally agree. Thanks for speaking your mind and heart on this issue. I have a daughter 13 years old and want her to follow a good example of a true and real woman of God.

    • Thank you so much, friend. Yes! Our young girls need positive examples in their lives, on how to live for God! Have you heard of Leah Darrow? She’d be a great role model for your daughter 🙂 Hugs and love xox

  61. This is a fantastic post! The trend of demanding respect for women, and then turning around and completely reducing women with the worst kind of objectification, is very concerning.
And thanks for the food for thought concerning the biblical concept of womanhood. I much appreciate it!

    • thank you so much my friend! I appreciate your support. I agree – the whole female empowerment “movement” is completely contradictory. It makes me so sad how backwards we are. Hugs and love xox

    • I agree. thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! Hugs and love xox

  62. Thank you so much for your bold post. I am the father of a 15 year old daughter who is bright, beautiful and socially very aware. I’m disgusted by this brain junk-food TV and music, which could be created by bots. It encourages bullying, violence and rams people, particularly girls, into boxes. The Trump era has validated this ‘thinking’ (I use the word cautiously). I forbid my kids from watching this awful judgemental, shallow TV of this generation. I don’t want them to give up their music because they feel they haven’t got ‘The X Factor’. We must encourage adventure, enquiry, independence, compassion and true strength.

    • Thank you so much Dan! I appreciate your sharing your story. Sounds like your daughter has a great head on her shoulders! and it sounds like you’re a great dad! bravo! we need more dads like you! 🙂 Hugs and love xox

  63. Ageist? Now they’re just coming up with adjectives to avoid biological fact. How many 20-30 somethings do we know with dementia or Alzheimer’s? None? Okay. Moving on. I think I might be a truthist. Or a factist. Factist might be too close to fascist. But I’m sure I’ve been called that before too. You’re doing fine, Caralyn. People will always attempt to find fault in the speaker (writer) as a self-medicating balm when truth stings. The fact is, when one is responsible for the running of a nation, and they can’t remember where they are, why they’re there, or how to walk up steps, it is sad for everyone watching the incapacity to lead well. I don’t think it’s fair to Joe to have one’s incompetence put on display. Which is how I interpreted your post from Thursday. Also, I appreciated your suggestion to check our own mental tone, that’s an excellent and apt reminder for all.

    • Hi Eden! haha I know! Factist – haha i like that one, but you’re right a little too close to that *other one* hehe. Thank you for your encouragement. it seriously means so much. that last one was a tough blog for sure. I’m glad you interpreted it the way I intended! yes! i hope you have a wonderful morning! Hugs and love xox

  64. Furthermore, If I were nominating a woman of the year, you’d be in the running with my mother in law. Both of you, even when you have every cause to respond to hurt with anger, you are both women I admire for quiet dignity, and gentle compassion; speaking the truth in love, and pointing people to Christ. THAT is praiseworthy.

    • oh my gosh you’re too sweet!!!! thank you !! gosh, i’m so touched!!!! 🙂

  65. I have withdrawn from reading much about those headlines because it is just too disturbing. The world has gone nuts, but let’s be honest—earthly titles and accolades really mean nothing in the long run.

    • You’re smart to withdraw from those headlines, Shauna. it’s just too disturbing on so many levels. I agree – the world has strewn so far from what is good. amen. thanks for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much for your support. it truly means the world. oh wow, i love that quote by Pope Francis. just beautiful! Hugs and love xox

  66. Hi Carlyn, You are such a wonderful woman with so much strength and courage! Thank you for stating your thoughts and standing for goodness and truth. I know that God blesses your efforts! In this age of decadence and immorality it is heartwarming to see you make your stands!

    • Thank you so much Delores! Oh my gosh your words of encouragement mean the absolute world. thank you 🙂 Hugs and love xox

  67. Matt Gaetz, GOP darling, Venmos to have sex with a trafficked 17 year old girl.
    BBB: silence

Donald Trump: walks in dressing rooms in Ms. Teen USA pageants.
    BBB: silence

Cardi B, Black woman, gets award for unapologetically celebrating her womanhood.
BBB: OMG THAT’S THE WORST THING SINCE BARACK OBAMA AND COLIN KAPERNICK!!!!

Don’t change a thing Caralyn Collar. Don’t change a thing.

    • I appreciate you calling out my full name, Mya. Blessings on your journey. Hugs and love xox

  68. On behalf of my daughters and granddaughters, and all men who embrace a God given and mother instilled respect for women, thank you. Thank you for your boldness, thank you for going against the flow and being a voice of truth, a voice of sanity, and dare I say it— the voice of God—for a generation that desperately needs to hear their peers speaking out. Sorry you took so much grief for your Biden post, but that is truth that needs to be spoken also. No one loves a prophet in the day they speak but never doubt nor shy away from your call and passion. Carry on Caralyn, God is with you. You have been given much and have much to give.

    • Hi Dan, gosh thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. it seriously means so much. yeah, definitely quite a bit of heat around here recently!!! haha but all good. I’m just focusing on my audience of One 🙂 Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you again, friend. I appreciate your support! 🙂 Yes! We need voices of reason out there! Hugs and love xox

  69. I know you have good intentions, but I wouldn’t even give people like Cardi or Billboard the extra advertising in the future. They don’t deserve it. Without knowing, I imagine 90% of your following didn’t even know who Cardi B was.

Billboard to go his low must be desperate for clicks.

Complete agree with everything you said; it is terrible. I had to check out the song lyrics myself, as I thought you had to be joking. How does a song like this get released? That is the central question?

Without checking, I can imagine it was a massive song on MTV and the like. I know sex sells, but what’s next pornographic material in videos. It very sad that artists and record companies have to lower themselves this low to get sales.

Sometimes im thankful I grew up in the 80s. 2021 must be so confusing for the young generation.

    • Thank you for this powerful response. that’s a great point. Oh – the video for this song is even worse than you could even imagine. it’s really sad how far this country has fallen. Hugs and love xox

    • Hi Laura! Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. The world is just taking this garbage at face value and letting it influence our young people, and degrade women’s worth and dignity, and I just felt the need to just say something. You ever feel like that? Like…I just need to say something! Everything is so backwards. Jesus, help us!! so glad you stopped by. Hugs and love xox

      • Yes! Absolutely I do! If we don’t speak up, what chance do our young have? They’ll only have that warped ideal and pattern to emulate. So many are afraid to speak up, afraid to face backlash and shy away. But, it has to be our duty to boldly speak the truth so they may know it and have a fighting chance in this skewed new normal. And, I think we have to pray for Cardi B, Lopez and those with influence that are themselves mislead.
I’m so proud of you, your courage to bold speak the truth.
        Hugs 💕

  70. Your words are very powerful! Thank you for your message. 🙂

Now, first, I do apologize to hear that others may not agree with your words and were very cruel speaking those words. The sad and odd fact is that any message or truth faces both criticisms, both positive and negative. Don’t worry. I, too, had to learn how to ‘just listen’ and give them time to speak how they feel, whether they accept my message or not. But whatever words that people have spoken to you, don’t let it ‘break’ or stop you from speaking and sharing your message within your heart.

As for Cardi B, it’s as if we (females) went from being downgraded many centuries ago, to being upgraded or empowered, to being downgraded again as if we’re in a loop or in a rotating wheel of life. The harder we try or attempt to fight and break out of the cycle, without God, we are stuck within our prison walls, metaphorically speaking. And I agree with you, a women’s life is way more valuable than we might believe within the Lord’s Eye… even for men as well. The value of life is priceless. Period. Even Lil Nas X, a rapper, sold his soul for $55. Really? And he is only 22-years old? That’s how cruel and dark life has become sadly enough. All we can do is pray for our sisters and brothers, in Christ, that their lives will be protected from the wiles of the devil’s schemes.

As to answer your question: “Who would I Bestow as Woman Of The Year?” For me, personally, it’s a toss up between “You” and “My Mother”. Besides, awards can be shared. 🙂

Love ya’, Sis, and continue to stay strong! 🙂

    • thank you friend for your kind words and powerful advice. that’s so true – just gotta let those dissenting words roll off. and oh yes – we’ve gotta PRAAAAY! and oh my gosh you’re too kind to say that! thank you so much! Hugs and love xox

  71. WHAT??? So maybe I DO hide my head in the sand….. Yikes! I had NO idea.
    Literally.
    No idea.
    This truly saddens me.
I feel like it’s a scene from Dumb & Dumber when “Pet’s heads are falling off!”
Oh, Caralyn. I’m at a loss of words and a “what are we to do?”

    Again…I pray.
I pray to St. Michael, to defend us in the battle.
I pray to all the angels & the Saints “to light to guard, to rule, to guide.”
As I continue to proclaim and BELIEVE – Jesus, I trust in You.

Hugs to you for again, speaking on a woefully sad reality we are faced with in our current Country’s Culture.

I can only imagine what Candace O has to say……

  72. The ‘woman of the year’ award normally goes to those who have contributed significantly in their areas of expertise, whether in philanthropy, humanitarian causes, in contributions to medicine, science, business, technology, art, music…..those sitting on the panel who gave this award to Cardi B may be questioned on their criteria for naming her woman of the year. I regretted looking up the lyrics of the song. Felt so sick after that….like being forced to swallow garbage…wonder how people can listen to it and not feel sick….

  73. I could not agree more. I realize that the last century has celebrated pushing boundaries and rebellion against the traditional, but you would think that we are about out of boundaries to push against.

You are the real counter culture now, the real revolutionary. There is nothing daring about CardiB – she only does the expected and is celebrated for it. I feel sorry for her because she can’t see that she is the new picture of banality. Sadly, there are many young girls who can’t see that yet either.

    Keep on at being you!
