Kylie Jenner is pregnant.
I know, I know…you didn’t come her for tabloid stories. But, according to the world of popular culture, this is headline news.
After an eagle-eyed fan on TikTok figured out she was pregnant from her fingernail polish, the youngest of America’s “Royal Family” (The Kardashians…) announced in a video on Instagram that she is, indeed, pregnant with baby number two.
This video has been viewed, as of right now, 134,943,951 times. Nearly ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE MILLION VIEWS.
And I, of course, gave into the peer pressure of the view ticker, and watched the video.
And oh my gosh, I’ve gotta say…it got me pretty emotional. The swelling music, the overjoyed reaction from her mother, the tender moments with her little girl and her growing belly. It was all just, beautiful.
Maybe it was because I was imagining, one day – God willing, having that special announcement of my own, and the overwhelming joy that would bring. But I just found myself smiling the whole time, filled with so much happiness for Kylie and Travis.
But there was something really powerful about this video. That, given the times with the Texas Abortion Heartbeat Law, and all the uproar surrounding it, I couldn’t help but notice the strong and incredibly powerful prolife undertones of this video. And as the video was ending all I could think was, “Wow…God, please use Kylie Jenner to bring people to see the value and personhood of the unborn. This is Your moment.”
Halfway through the video, Kylie is at the OBGYN, and you can hear the doctor tell her, “You’re days away from the heartbeat,” to which a huge grin comes across her face — and though she is masked up, she is just beaming with her eyes.
But just hearing the doctor say, “heartbeat,” my mind instantly went to Texas and how, this is the precise monumental moment that the country is fighting over, and here we all are, witnessing this young — and incredibly famous — young woman and her partner beaming from ear to ear with excitement inside.
But as though that wasn’t powerful enough…half a minute later, in a dramatic fashion, the music cuts out, and all you can hear is the whooshing of a baby’s heartbeat — cut to, the ultrasound of the heart beat pulses, and then the 4D ultrasound image with Kylie and her daughter, Stormi looking on.
*Whooshing heartbeat.* “You can see the baby.“
“You can see the baby.”
And the final, closing shot of this beautifully vulnerable and personal video, is home video footage of Stormi kissing Kylie’s belly, as she says, “Baby.”
“Baby.”
I mean, what a powerful, powerful video that 135 million people have seen.
Kylie Jenner, arguably one of the most famous, influential people – at least among the under-30 crowd. She’s a billionaire, beauty mogul, reality TV star, and fourth-most followed person on Instagram. And here she is, proudly proclaiming that the child in her growing belly is a baby.
Designers are dying to dress her in maternity wear, the people are thirsting for tabloid shots of her “bump,” this pregnancy is headline global news. There are fans that would jump in front of a bus to protect Kylie’s belly….and yet, at the same time, our country is tearing in two trying to protect the “right” to kill that child inside.
So which is it?
This video really makes it pretty black and white, and forces the answer.
And can you believe the timing, with just last Thursday, — the day after Kylie’s pregnancy annoucement — Biden officially sued the state of Texas over their Abortion Law, banning abortion after six weeks of pregnancy when a heartbeat is detected….a moment that the world literally just witnessed through Kylie Jenner’s eyes.
I can only pray — and I invite you to join me — that all those 135 million people, connect the dots, and see that a child in the womb is indeed a human life, with rights worth protecting. That they can hear that heartbeat, and recognize the dignity of the little child growing inside. That they can see those images on the ultrasound, and appreciate the tiny human…the mini Kylie or mini Travis…that the world sees as a “choice.” That baby is not a choice – it is not disposable. It doesn’t deserve to be dismembered and vacuumed out, discarded without a thought. It is a child. One that America is celebrating.
They say that, the moment a woman becomes pregnant and has a child of her own, is the moment that she realizes that this “fetus” really is a human, living inside of her…kicking, moving around, with its own DNA, and its own fingernails – as Juno once recalled.
The world is living Kylie’s pregnancy with her. And I just pray that some of that intimate, motherly knowledge of true personhood rubs off.
Congratulations, Kylie, Travis and Stormi. Blessings on your pregnancy.

I’m not sure what I think of this. The Jenners have not been paragons of morality. yes, the video is a positive message, Does anyone know what her stand on abortion has been? I hope my misgivings are misplaced, but I guess I’m getting cynical when it comes to most famous people. especially those who are just famous for…being famous. *sigh*

The main problem with laws in Texas, is banning abortions doesn’t mean no abortions it means unsafe abortions.

I don’t think adoption is in some cases the safe and sefless alternative, rape would be the obvious one on that. You would honestly make a woman go through the trauma of rape and then make her carry a baby she doesn’t want for 9 months and give birth to it?

I’ve never understood the notion that abortion rights elevate and empowers women? We’ve been fed a slurry of lies and somehow our young women are swallowing it.
I find it belittling and patronizing at best…as though concessions must be made for us because we are too stupid to understand our own bodies and their function, too dumb to know how to take care of ourselves, understand birth control or how to use it, too weak to bear personal responsibility, too selfish to consider other options.
If they really wanted to empower women. they’d teach them to and confirm the opposite. We are capable, intelligent, strong, responsible and in full possession of our bodies and futures.
And, this is not tissue…it’s life and we alone,, uniquely blessed with the ability to create it within our bodies. And, not just life nor merely child, but OUR child….with eyes like MINE or the exact bow of MY lips, possessing within itself the DNA of hundreds of my ancestors before me.
We must teach them to approach pregnancy with awe, wonder and glory that it beholds.

I do pray that the Lord will use this testimony to save the lives of thousands of babies and take the heart of stone out of the chest of those who are bent on this ideal that the needless murder of the defenseless and unborn is acceptable, and replace it with a heard of flesh so that they can see and weep over the thousands that have died every year for decades. My heart breaks at the cold hardheartedness of my fellow man. Such selfishness dwells in the heart of man. It is no wonder that God had to sacrifice his own son in order for us to have a real everlasting relationship with him. We certainly would not have done it. Thanks for sharing this story.

Travis Scott the guy that talks about keeping two hoes in his bed—yep he would be a role model I would want my son to look up to.
Kris Jenner–the mom who pimped out her children for the needs of her own ego. Her children are now repeating the cycle using others including their kids to make money.
Kylie is incredibly wealthy and has a team of people to assist her. How much hands on parenting do you think she actually does. Does she clean puke stained sheets or prepare her children’s meals. But the public will buy the People magazine version of the story hook line and sinker.
If we really cared about women facing difficult pregnancies we would provide so much more economic support and make it easier for women in the US for women to get quality prenatal care. Do you know that African American women have more difficulty getting quality prenatal care and have greater rates of pregnancy associated death.
Adoption is not a cost free endeavor, and by that I am not specifically talking about money.
Caring about human life goes well beyond the abortion debate—sadly the politicians making these abortion laws don’t care about the death penalty, COVID or care of children beyond the actual birth.

Caralyn needed attention. But she could not get it alone by making a blog about eating disorders. Although she has helped some, it was not profitable. So she decided to co-opt right wing and Christian talking points. Her posts of this sort often belittle people of color ever so slightly enough to detect for her church going readership of a certain demographic. She then got up to six million clicks on her Pinterest which fed into her Patreon account. She lives in New York City, a place vastly different than her ideology would allow her to enjoy. New York is an expensive place to live. And now that blogs are dying rather quickly, Caralyn gets more desperate for both money and attention. By now including the Kardashians as part of her posting fare, one could she she has now “jumped the shark.” Stay tuned until next post…

It’s good to see a positive message, even though it might not be taken seriously. I wish Kylie all the best and kudos for showing the world something that all the pro-abortionists don’t want anyone to hear – the heartbeat of an unborn baby.
I don’t get how some people, who are mothers themselves, can stand on the side of abortions. Makes me ask the question, “Is that what you really think about your child?.. Is your child such a burden and a problem to you? Is being a mother such a horrible thing?..”
While women are wishing for equal rights and the ability to be able to do anything that a man is, there is one thing that they can do, yet modern feminists would rather women forget this ability all together. After all, this is what causes the problems. The fact that women have to choose in between being a mother and having a career for portions of their lives.
Besides modern feminism, we are now fighting a battle of statistics. Modern man seems to have lost its humanity.
Pro-abortionists, point to statistics as a part of the plight of children given away for adoptions, orphanages, the tax on the people and the government to take care of these children. While the system is not perfect, there is one thing that is true. Each child was given a chance at life. While not the best life, each one has potential to do great things – given the chance.
Forget even abortions. Look at what is happening in with Covid. They talk about vaccinations, herd immunity like we are nothing more than statistics. If people die from vaccines, yeah, that is an acceptable statistic since most of the population will survive.
Its just as if the individual rights and life of a person no longer matter in society anymore. To our modern society you’re just a number, a statistic, of no value except whatever benefit you can provide to society in general. You have no special rights unless you are offended or a victim of racism. Then you have the right to be offended and get compensation.

I am of a generation that pays no attention to the Kardashians, but I appreciate this post for making me think. I hope you are right that Kylie’s video pushes the appreciation of life forward a notch.
However the cynic in me fears that this will become just one more of a bazillion data points that prove the modern rule of pregnancy: that a life is a life only when the mother wants it to be a life. Everyone gets excited about that new heartbeat when it meshes with the mother’s happiness and desires. It’s the next step in the logical chain where the plot is too often lost: it’s still a life even when it’s inconvenient or emotionally painful or physically dangerous.
So this is good, but a pregnancy that crashes into and threatens to wreck what Kylie wants for her own life – there will be the real testimony.
