Nancy Pelosi: The New “Cafeteria Christian”

A disturbing new Gallup study was released last week, proclaiming that Americans’ belief in God has dipped to an all-time low.

With just 81% of Americans believing in God, that’s down a whopping 6% percent from just 2017, and almost 10% from 2011, where 90% believed in God.

Nancy #Pelosi is exactly what #Christianity has become today: a pick-and-choose buffet of Christ's teachings that one chooses to fit their lifestyle. But that is no #religion at all. It is the religion of self. #catholic #nancypelosi #god #faith #jesus #Politics #christian

And the two subgroups that have seen the biggest drop? Young people (only 68% believe in God), and those who identify politically on the left as liberals (only 62%), and Democrats (68%).

And we wonder why there has been such a sharp increase in identity crisis and a pandemic of suicidal thoughts among our young people…

But these statistics were released almost simultaneously with another head-shaking zinger by one, Nancy Pelosi.

As you may have heard (but probably not, since mainstream media hasn’t covered it…) but recently, with the Roe v. Wade outcome looming in indecision, there have been 23 Pro-Life pregnancy centers attacked, and an assassination attempt on a Pro-Life Supreme Court Justice. When Pelosi was asked directly about these things in last week’s press conference, she did not denounce the violence, or even condemn it. In fact, she cited her so-called Catholic faith, to support her pro-abortion stance.

“A woman has a right to choose, to live up to her responsibility. It’s up to her, her doctor, her family, her husband, her significant other, and her god… I’m a very Catholic person and I believe in every woman’s right to make her own decisions.” -Nancy Pelosi

I’m sorry, Nancy. But in order to be a Catholic person, you have to abide by Catholic teaching. And what is an “unbudging truth” of Church social and moral teachings? That abortion is morally wrong, because it is the deliberate killing of a sacred human life.

But this post isn’t about abortion.

And it isn’t really even about Nancy Pelosi. — Although, I would love to juuuust…but I won’t.

This post is about what Nancy Gal represents: Christianity today.

To be honest, I thought that the 81% would be lower. And, perhaps it’s because I live in NYC, but I thought that number would skew more around the liberal-identifying number of 62% of people claiming to believe in God.

But Nancy is a perfect example of what Christianity — and particularly Catholicism — has become. And it’s what has been circulated in Catholic circles for years as a “Cafeteria Catholic.” But in this case, it applies to all Christians.

Close your eyes, and picture yourself back in 4th grade: you’re in line for hot lunch at your elementary school. Going through the line, you’ve got your lunch ladies — hairnets, plastic gloves, maroon aprons, and a big-ol’ smile that only brightened your day. Well you’ve got your tray — and now it’s time to pick what you want. Chocolate, white or strawberry milk….Sloppy joe, french bread pizza, or chicken nuggets….French fries, green beans, or fruit cup.

A Cafeteria Christian, or a Cafeteria Catholic, is someone who claims the faith, but only believes/follows the teachings that he or she wants.

They are creating their own religion. The religion of self. The religion of convenience. The religion of whims and wants.

And this, friend, is no religion at all.

We were never promised that the road of a Jesus follower would be smooth, paved, bumpless, and with an ocean view. Quite the contrary. We were promised persecution. We were told that we would be hated because of Him.

And it’s no wonder that there is such venom against those who stand up against the secular dogma about woke topics that completely contradict Christ’s teachings.

And so you’ve got a huge population of “Nancy Pelosi Christians” who claim to be a “very Catholic person” — even though they’ve rejected the moral teachings of the Church on abortion, on same sex marriage, on gender ideology, on X, Y, Z.

I’m not saying she doesn’t believe in God. But clearly, the god that she believes in, is one that she has conceptualized herself. She’s sanitized Him, and whittled away at His almighty power, and put Him in the box that fits her life, her agenda.

And I think that there’s a lot of that 81% that are doing the exact same thing.

Now look, I’m not claiming myself to be a saint — I have a laundry list of sins 5-miles long, and it is only the grace, mercy and forgiveness of our Savior that I’m here today.

And this is not just the left that is guilty of this either: many people on the right also will ignore the evils of the death penalty, or don’t care about the poor, or immigrants.

But what I am saying, is that it is incredibly damaging — and confusing — for there to be a public figure, claiming to be Catholic, when actively contradicting the most fundamental teachings of Christ and His Church.

She’s free to believe whatever she wants. But don’t claim to be Catholic when you’re not.

Period.

It’s just giving permission, and fueling the fires of all the other Pelosi Christians out there, that they can keep going through that cafeteria line and creating the religion that best fits their lifestyle.

That’s just not how it works.

“Don’t be misled. Remember that you can’t ignore God and get away with it. You will always reap what you sow! Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desires will harvest the consequences of decay and death.” Galatians 6:7

Lord, please guide our politicians to follow Your ways. Change their hearts of stone into hearts of flesh that want to abide by Your law of love, truth and peace. Through Your Spirit, lead them to the life-changing view of Your face.

  1. I personally think the study is manufactured to try to support a certain narrative. Media is so controlled and manipulated that’s it’s no better than propaganda these days.

    • What an interesting thought! Definitely something to consider! Thanks for sharing that. Hugs and love xox

      • Amen! Thank you very much for sharing this bold post!

Although I’m not American and may not be able to relate with some things here, I did learn that as a Christian you have to stand firm on the beliefs of Christianity. Don’t choose to believe only what you want to or manufacture your own beliefs, especially because of what seems to be the popular opinion.

Thank you once again for sharing.

      • Hi Oluwatomi! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this! I’m so glad it resonated with you. I know – it makes me so sad how we have rejected Christian values. It is leading the downfall of our society, as we are seeing play out right before our very eyes. glad you stopped by. Hugs and love xox

  2. Wow! Spot on! As a Californian, I’ve had to put up with Pelosi and her nephew for quite some time. I do cringe every time she (and Newsom) even mention God. I am sharing this awesome post. Thank you for your boldness and honesty.

    • Thank you Tim! Oh gosh, God speed to you in Cali!! We are both in seas of blue!! Glad you stopped by and thanks for passing this along! Hugs and love xox

  3. I agree with everything you stated. Caralyn, you’re a true Christian with strong beliefs. I also think humble is onto something. About the narratives they push. Something to consider.

  4. I could barely read this, Caralyn. That woman could be the enemy in the flesh, pure evil. My 94 year old father agrees with me too! She’s just evil…

    • Hi John, yeah listening to her speak puts my “danger” radar on high alert. I appreciate you stopping by! Have a wonderful night! Hugs and love xox

  5. Hi Caralyn! Yes, you’re exactly right. Too many today want to make God in their own image. I join you in praying they encounter the real Jesus before it’s too late.
On a lighter note, you got a choice of food when you were in fourth grade? Wow! 🤣🤣 I won’t ruin your dinner describing what we sometimes got. I’ll just say some things shouldn’t be pureed. LOL! Have a lovely evening and great week. 🤗🙏💛

    • thank you Kenneth for praying along with me! amen to that – haha yes! oh my gosh that sounds concerning hahah – we always had one special entree and then the standard pizza option that was every day if you didn’t like the special entree, My favorite day was “brunch for lunch” where we got french toast sticks! haha i loved our hot lunches! Hugs and love xox

  6. I assume you know this, but there is reference to this in the Bible, as John writes the letter to Laodicea.

    —————

    Message to Laodicea

14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the [k]Origin of the creation of God, says this:

15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,

    —————–

    Lukewarm.

There is also the references to the Apostasy… the abandonment of Faith by the Church.

We are to treat them with love anyways…be the light. It is a tough mission.

    -mike

    • Hi Mike, thank you for sharing this powerful insight! you’re right- be the light — that is the mission, and you’re right – a bit tough! Hugs and love xox

  7. What a cafeteria you dine at. Even food-management doesn’t follow the rules.

Management is riddled with pedophiles they refuse to dismiss, and blame the victims, homosexuals, even though they rail against them, nazi sympothathuiers who help war criminals escape, priests who ran a death camp in Croatia, and thousands of babies killed and buried in church-run institutions, accumulating wealth beyond imaging while pretending to help the poor, not speaking out when German and Polish priests were murdered, holding slaves and sanctioning slavery, persecuting other religions, selling passage to heaven and on and on.

So many items on the menu. You will say, but these are acts of individuals, yet the truth is it’s inbred in the culture of the church. The church demands blind faith and you’ve guzzled the Kool-Ade. No wonder so many eschew this corrupt group of hypocrites.

    • thank YOU HJ! I appreciate your support and for taking the time to read this! hope you’re having a great monday evening! Hugs and love xox

  8. I am a Democrat, but more moderate, being conservative, or what is definedfas conservative, on some issues, but definitely liberal on others. I am also a Christian, and no one can tell me that because I think differently from them on some issues, that I am not saved. I am sorry, but this type of hate spread for people who think differently on issues like abortion, racism, or gun violence is what is destroying this country. We used to disagree without making one side as Satan-lovers and having our faith in God questioned. This is similar to tarring and feathering someone to amuse those who think the same as you, without considering how it increases hate and hostility in others. I know that just because I vote for Democrats should not automatically make me a God-hater and someone who is worthy to be derided. Please don’t allow this type of sensationalist posts be shared by someone who is so kind and compassionate. I am sorry if anyone disagrees with me, but I couldn’t stay silent. My spirit wouldn’t let me.

    • Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I just want to reiterate that I don’t believe – and didn’t say – that voting democrat means that a person hates God. That is not what I believe, nor what I said. There are certain issues that I definitely believe have more Christian positions on them…abortion being one of them. But a person’s political party line doesn’t determine a person’s faith life. The Gallup poll had braod statistics that I cited, but those numbers do not represent individual people, and I definitely want to make that clear 🙂 thanks. Hugs and love xox

  9. I have also heard it described as iGod as in an iPhone. (I am an Android user but the point is the same.) Pick the apps that fits YOUR needs. Pick the parts about the Bible that sounds good, like God loves you and wants to provide for you. But the parts like hell, sin, judgment, can I skip those parts? And certainly skip church discipline. Why?

Sometimes the most loving thing to do is to exercise discipline, the teaching of actions having consequences, however uncomfortable it feels. Unfortunately, because it is uncomfortable, it is omitted from the menu. Sorry for butchering the metaphors. 🙂

  10. Excellent post! I feel like I’m seeing this type of Christian you describe so much as of late. It’s pretty disheartening, but it makes posts like this more meaningful and encouraging to me. Thanks! I’m so thankful for your boldness in matters regarding the Lord.

    • Thank you so much Colleen! I agree – this “woke christianity” is very disheartening indeed. The Truth and God’s Word is unchanging, no matter how the culture changes. so glad you stopped by. Hugs and love xox

  11. Thanks. A timely reminder, the whole gamut – all the moral teachings.

(Including the sloppy joe – I had to Google that one, sounds great)

Yes, there’s always a risk – to pick and choose interpretations.
    🙏🏼

    • Thanks David! I appreciate that. hahah – it is funny that Sloppy Joe’s aren’t a thing in Austrialia! hahha They’re not all that they’re cracked up to be! Hugs and love xox

  12. Very sad but utterly true gauge if where we’re at in Biblical prophecies – the age of apostasy. So hard to see the faith disgraced but as the ‘polls’ worsen, our Lord’s return is imminent.
Good post Caralyn, thank you! ❤

    • Thank you Lisa Beth, I appreciate your support. You’re right – this is a gauge of where we’re at. I believe you’re right! Hugs and love xox

  13. Thank you for your bold words Caralyn. When you read scripture it’s not too challenging to understand where our morals should stand. It’s sad that many aren’t going for the whole “enchilada”.

    • Thank you Ali for your support. I agree – the Word is not unclear about moral issues, and it’s sad to see how society has strayed so grossly far from it. Hugs and love xox

    • I agree with you on that one! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for taking the time to read and respond. Hugs and love xox

  14. When you wrote that 81% of the population believes in God, I, too, thought that was high. Do they believe in the God of the Bible or some other God? Of, course, you answered that question quite nicely. And, yes, we all have a long list of sins, but I’m reminded of a description of Christianity. It’s hungry people telling other hungry people where the food is! Point being…we’re all “hungry.” I pray you and Steven are well!

    • Hi Jeff! Right? The God of the Bible or what people refer to as “the Universe.” Oh my gosh I love that — hungry people telling other hungry people where the food is!! AMEN! That is so true and such an accurate depiction! Thank you – we are definitely hanging in there — spending lots of time with family every weekend, which is really healing and good for the soul. Thanks so much for sharing your heart and stopping! I hope you and your family are well! Keeping you in my prayers! big hugs and love to you and your girls! xox

      • That “hungry people” description was in a friend’s sermon. I have another that I saw in an Atlantic City casino. It was 2 very old guys heading for the slot machines. One guy was in a wheelchair. The guy pushing him was on oxygen. We’re all the walking wounded trying to make it to the slots! All my best!

  15. The central issue is that the religious right has aligned itself with hate and violence. Pelosi is a minor issue if you believe in the concept of tolerance and that others are entitled to beliefs that differ from yours. The Christian right is advocating for a range of evils that Jesus would never tolerate.

    • Hi Vic, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. Would you mind expanding upon the violence and hate that the religious right has aligned itself with? I’m unaware of any… Hugs and love xox

    • You’re right about that Rollie. You simply can’t argue with God’s Word. Thank you for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you so much! I appreciate your support. It’s a wild world out there. Hugs and love xox

  16. It takes courage in our times to speak out so thank you for doing so.
I am not a Catholic, but appreciate my Catholic brothers and sisters. I appreciate the stand the bishop took to bar Pelosi from communion. Her positions are twisted.

    • Thank you so much for your support and for sharing your thoughts on this. You’re right – I am so SO happy the bishop finally took a stand on Pelosi and her anti-Christian positions. There are more politicians who need the same correction. Hugs and love xox

    • Thank you friend for your kind words and support. You’re right about that – the religion of self is running rampant these days. Hugs and love xox

    • thank you so much Jenny Grace for your kind words and support. I’m glad this resonated with you! Hugs and love xox

  17. When the prisons are full of people who are there for stoning to death people who did not follow their god’s laws, I’ll believe that you aren’t just another Cafeteria Christian. Until then, I’ll witness this as another example of what I see weekly amongst liberals, dog owners and…people of faith: judgment. And not just judgment, but one that elevates the perceiver over those they deem themselves worthy to judge.
My idea is better than yours.
You’re not feeding your dog the right snacks.
My faith is truer than yours.
They are all annoying at best and hypocritical at worst. Certainly, among liberals, I will admit on our behalf that one of the things that keeps us from being effective is our infighting once in power. But with people of faith? It’s a short and slippery slope from the teaching of Christ to the fundamental fanaticism we see in the Middle East.
Maybe Nancy’s religious beliefs are personal and private versus a moral code she believes she has the right to force others to live by?
Given those two options as ends of a pendulum swing, where in that arc do you think Jesus would want you to be? And remember, you’re answering from a belief that was stolen and whitewashed two millennia ago, so keep in mind the foundation of sand that your glass house is standing on as you consider your answer…

    • Thanks Galby for sharing your thoughts on this. I will just say — Jesus commanded us not to murder. Killing is wrong on all levels. And according to science, a new life is created at fertilization. Therefore, destroying that life is killing. It doesn’t matter if you’re Christian or not…that is a fundamental right everyone has: the right to life. So that is not a “pendulum issue” — because killing is not a “religious belief” issue — it is universally accepted right and wrong. Hugs and love xox

      • Guess we read different Bibles – or I shorthanded god and Jesus in the moment. But I’d hope you wouldn’t exploit that oversight in my comment to avoid recognizing my point.

    • I like that you challenge Caralyn’s points yet both of you stay connected: listening, engaged in conversation. I wish that type of engagement was more prevalent today.

      • I appreciate that. I know I had to work on toning it down after my first interactions with some of her other followers, y’know…temper the WTFness in my responses. Even after making an effort, I still feel like her #1 Troll sometimes. Luckily, she posts recipe blogs, and those are where we really share a passion!

      • thanks Ivan. I appreciate healthy, respectful dialogue, and I certainly encourage conversation. Hugs and love xox

  18. Excellent article Caralyn! Thank you for your straightforwardness and conviction! It is amazing how Nancy Pelosi contradicts herself, as well as does President Biden and so many others who claim to be believers in God and call themselves Christians. It is even more amazing how people are accepting this! What an age we live in! How these public servants (who think of themselves as the elite and are recognized as such by the general populace) fool themselves and others is beyond belief. It is truly heart breaking to me as I see this country falling away from God and Christian beliefs. As always, I greatly admire your courage to speak the truth and make your stand for God and Jesus.

    • Thank you so much Delores! I’m so glad this resonated with you! I agree – Pelosi and Biden are both spun from the same cloth, and neither are following the example Jesus gave. And in fact, are contradicting and completely disregarding His teachings. And you’re right – it’s amazing that people accept it!!! Heartbreaking indeed. thanks for your support. Hugs and love xox

  19. Hi again Caralyn. On the topic of God and abortion, I wish to tell you about a young man that I have just learned of. His name is Seth Gruber and he is a remarkable man! I have listed two links, below, for videos where he speaks about the reasons why everyone should be Pro-Life and how he, himself, became a spokes person for life. He has a far different approach to this issue. Seth has many videos and speaks before many different organizations.
I am hoping that you, and others, will do all that you can to promote him. And, please pray for him and his family!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NliGI0xFDd0

    • Interesting! thanks for sharing, and i look forward to checking him out! Hugs and love xox

  20. You got to pick what you wanted from the school cafeteria? Must have been nice. I got these prepackaged bland meals that were exactly the same as everyone else’s, like it or not.

Seriously, though, it makes me sad how many people are like this…

    • Oh man, that sounds dismal! Yeah, we had the choice of the day, and then pizza as the fallback meal! hahah And you’re right – makes me sad too. really sad. thanks for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

    • AMEN! You’re right about that, and there are, I believe, a lot of people – not just Pelosi or Biden – walking around like that. Granted, only the person and God knows their heart, but actions definitely speak loudly!Hugs and love xox

  21. It amazes me how people can find ways to justify themselves. I am not the best attending church Christian, but there are some things I am not compromising on and that is an unborn, who has no voice. I was date raped with my second child and I won’t deny the thought briefly crossed my mind, only because I was being pressured to marry him. Yet the thought of destroying that little life was so repugnant, I couldn’t do it. Yes, we married and it lasted 9 years even. Yes, I had to work out some resentment, but she is alive and my very lovely actor daughter, who I am very proud of and I am not one bit sorry. I have two grand children from her and now a new great grand-baby by my grand daughter. Little Novi discovered her voice on father’s day, to the delight of her daddy. I wish I could share the video. Enough said. So, many blessings came from that decision. My point being, choosing to do what’s right can be difficult but the rewards are so worth it.

    • Hi Jo! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this! You’re right about that – it amazes me too. Gosh, I am so sorry to hear that you went through that. Gosh, my heart goes out to you – thank you for sharing that. You are such a strong woman, wow — your daughter is a precious gift that came out of a very difficult situation, but like you can attest to: God has a way of working everything out for good! you have a powerful story that needs to be shared!! thank you again for sharing that and for having the courage to say YES to life! Hugs and love xox

    • That is a good and powerful thing to do. Thank you Ivan for stopping by! Hugs and love xox

  22. I absolutely agree with you about the death sentence. I also admire your fervour on the topic of abortion even if I do not entirely agree.. You have been utterly consistent. Yet I do think you have made this a bit personal. You are normally fair-minded even when I disagree Caralyn. Attacking somebody’s faith because you happen to disagree on an issue, is a bit unfair in my view..

    • Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this. I’m sorry this post was disappointing. Of course, Nancy’s relationship with God is between her and God, but I just think it’s harmful for her to be in the public eye, shouting from the roof that she’s Catholic, when her positions completely contradict that of the Catholic church. Thank you for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

      • Carolyn I cannot claim to understand the Catholic position the way you do but I am sure as an advocate of free speech, I would have thought you would have been there defending her right to speak out as she so wished.

    • Oh, thank you so much – yeah, my mom is a prayer warrior. She would go to church and sit in the adoration chapel in front of the Blessed Sacrament every single night. She never talked to anyone about my situation, she didn’t gossip about me — she kept it to herself, because she knew it was not her story to share, and that if by the grace of God I made it through, and there was ever any hope of repairing our relationship, she knew that I had to be able to trust her. So she poured out her heart to Jesus in prayer. I can truly say that her prayers got me through that time. There is nothing more powerful than the prayers of a mother. Hugs and love xox

    • And whatever you’re going through today, know that I am praying for you 🙂

  23. There is the point where I disagree. powerful prayer does not have to be in church. Nor does it have to be with people who share your views. Seems to be a lot of talk about dogs these days. All I remember is that Jezebel got thrown to the dogs.

  24. The reverential awe of God isn’t a reality to those unaware of His omnipresence, nor is having to give an account of how we lived the life He’s granted us. A sobering reality indeed.
    Well said my friend.

    • hi John, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. you’re right about that. Hugs and love xox

  25. People, for the love of Pete, STOP SAYING YOU’RE CATHOLIC WHEN YOU DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE TENANTS OF OUR FAITH!! It’s like saying you’re a NFL player but you DON’T EVEN WATCH FOOTBALL!! (And the examples could go on & on.) I am not interested in judging other people, but I am interested in the Truth. So please, DO NOT “say” you are Catholic but cannot abide by what the Church TEACHES. This. Is. Idol. Worship!! Worshipping YOUR view of God/Church vs God/Church as they are. Could you even imagine if Nancy P. said she was a faithful Democrat then never attended the Democratic Convention because she didn’t like what it stood for, but instead attended, donated to, and campaigned for members at the Republican Party Convention?!?!? Realllllllly??? Interesting thought. (That is, if we are we still allowed to have those??) Sorry to rant, Caralyn but this is a HUGE pet-peeve of mine because it confuses so many people as to what our Catholic Faith truly stands for. I am not angry, just EXTREMELY frustrated. We are not a grey faith. What is written on the tablets is written. What is written in Scripture is written. What is doctrine is doctrine. We DO NOT get to pick & choose. We trust or we don’t. And those who are not interested in trying to uphold the teachings of our Church then PLEASE politely step aside. PLEASE stop professing things which are NOT TRUE about our Holy Apostolic Church. Hugs to you for posting on this Caralyn. Sometimes I wonder “Am I the only one who is concerned by this?” And it is good to know I am not alone….

    • Thank you Dawn for this powerful response!! Me too – extremely frustrated to say the least. AMEN! We are not a gray faith!! You so beautifully articulated my feelings. I especially love the example about pelosi and the dem convention yet donating to republicans! It’s wild. WILD. And her remarks today after the overturning of roe were equally terrible. She could barely get the words out she was so disgusted that roe was overturned. So much for those Catholic values…. Thanks for sharing your heart. You’re a gem, my friend. Hugs and love xox

  26. Who made all of you judge and jury about what it takes to be a Catholic? This one has got me really annoyed. I am not a Catholic myself but I have some very dear friends who are.
I am sure you must all.be pretty happy right now but know this, your rigid doctrines are going to cost women’s lives. I do not like abortion either but then nor do I like the idea of women dying
I have sat on the fence about this issue. How about offering some real.and practical.help.for pregnant mums, instead of judgement. I have seen women try to describe this particular predicament here and not receive a response. Why not give them a voice too?

  27. Great post about “cafeteria Christianity.” I think for many it’s more like a buffet than a cafeteria (simply because the all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant offers more variety than the high school cafeteria–and my friends and I still have funny stories involving cafeteria food 40 years later).
I sometimes refer to a handful of teachings in the Bible as “stuff I would have left out if I wrote the Bible.” Obviously, I didn’t write the Bible. If I believe it’s the Word of God, I can either choose to accept it (and accept the fact that He knows better) or question whether I’m seriously willing to be a disciple of Jesus.
God’s ways and thoughts are higher than ours. Therefore, at times we will be tempted to disagree with Him. Real faith means we trust Him at those moments.

    • Thank you so much Michael. You’re right – a buffet definitely fits the metaphor more! hahah And you hit the nail on the head: if you believe it’s the Word of God, you either take it as it is, or leave it as it is. We can’t decide what is and what isn’t part of our faith. That’s trust in Him! Amen! Thanks again! Hugs and love xox

  28. The beauty of God is he does indeed allow disagreement. The book of Job for example involves a person heartily disagreeing with God. Even if in the end Job does eventually have to admit that God knows what he’s doing. God patiently listens to Job’s views before explaining things to him. In the end it is clear he is viewed more favourably by God than those who come along attempting to put Job in his place.

  29. To be honest I have been waiting for you to amend our post about the Mueller report. Whilst love your blog, it has disapppointed me that you have never updated this post so I am going to take a break. for a. while. Wishing you all the best Carolyn.

    • Amends to The Mueller report post…I’m not sure I know what you’re talking about. But if it’s enough to make you stop reading…well, I guess I don’t know what to say other than, okay.

  30. All Christians must accept the whole word of God and understand that his standards haven’t changed. Immediately we deviate from the standard we are no longer Christians.

By their fruits you will know them.

We can’t become the judge – however, the evidence of conduct allows us to condemn what another Christian says and does when it is contrary to they professed beliefs as it is hypocrisy
