Hello from Utah!
Yep! My family and I are out West skiing and enjoying the winter wonderland together!
And my special gentleman is with us!

It has been just an amazing time. Right now, it’s 7:30am, and I woke up early before we’re hittin the slopes! I’ve had some powerful conversations during my time out here that have inspired two post topics for Thursday and next Monday, that I can’t wait to share with you!
Over these last few days, we’ve done a lot of laughing, chatting, eating delicious food, skiing, cooking and just enjoying being together.

If you’re ever in Park City, go to Fireside Dining. Oh my gosh it is absolutely amazing. It’s situated in the mountains of Deer Valley. Five ginormous wood burning fireplaces are going in this beautiful lodge, and each fire place has some of the most spectacular food you’ve ever seen.

One has a giant wheel of raclette cheese that is melting from the fire, and this delicious melted cheese is dripping onto plates, that you then take and fill with all different kinds of meats and potatoes, and homemade mustards and chutneys. It’s out of this world.
The other fire places have different stews, and salads, and slow roasting legs of lamb. But the final fire place is the chocolate fondue.
I look forward to it every year, and how awesome that Steven was with us to enjoy it too! 🙂

But I’ve gotta say: one of the best moments was yesterday when the Cincinnati Bengals were playing for a spot in the Super Bowl!
We are huge Bengals fans. As you may know, the Bengals have been…kind of the laughing stock of the NFL for…oh, the last 30 years. They haven’t been in the Super Bowl since 1988. And last year, they only won 4 games.

But through thick and thin, my family has been fans through and through.
Well, yesterday afternoon, we were all together watching them play the game of their life to get to the Super Bowl AND THEY WON!!
Oh my gosh, being with my family for that was a blast. We popped champagne, toasted to the underdogs, and celebrated an unexpected win!
The joy in the room was exuberant!

There was jumping up and down, woo-ing, and hugs all around.
They play again next Sunday of Valentine’s Day weekend, so if you’re looking for a team to root for this year, definitely join me in rooting on my hometown team!
Alright, I hear the troops rallying to get ready to go skiing.
Can’t wait to talk to you again on Thursday! (And Wednesday for a recipe!)

That was an amazing comeback. Congrats to the Bengals! I hope they win.
Oh, man, sounds like so much fun!! Utah, not the football game!! LOL My youngest grandson (who lives in KC) locked himself in the bathroom after the game!! heh heh, he’s 9, and he is a TOTAL Chiefs fan!! He’ll come out when he gets hungry. (Kidding!! He didn’t stay in there long!)
So glad you had time with family and Steven.
Now I’m going to find something to eat……….
A beautiful post thank you so much you so beautiful
My brother-in-law is from Cincinnati. So we’re pulling for the Bengals. With luck, the NFL will be able to evict the homeless residents in the tent city at the stadium.
Oh your Caralynnness, you are truly a Ben’gal’. It would be great to see a new team win.
I don’t follow football, but your Bengals got a spankin’!! 😳 Your folks’ home is very beautiful, well done! You two look so cute together, wonderful photo, guys. ☺️🙏🏻 Be safe out there, enjoy the mountains!
Lots of folks excited to see the Bengals go to the Super Bowl, and one of them is me

Yes I will be barracking for the Bengals this year!
So funny, Caralyn. My wife and I had dinner at Fireside Dining this past Saturday. It was amazing and, of course, we ate too much. Skied Deer Vally three days. Ted
Bengals? Are they still a football team? Who’da thunk that!? 😂
Just teasing, dear friend, and anyone else who is a fan!!! Please do not release tigers in Lexington in hopes they will eat me!
