Three Truly Life Changing Products I Love

You know how when you have a good friend, you want the best for them?

Well – that’s me and you. 🙂

Whenever I fall in love with a product, or food, or restaurant, my inner circle knows. Heck, I have a text thread with a group of friends for the specific reason of letting them know where they can buy fresh figs in NYC.

I’m a “share the wealth” kind of a gal.

So this summer, I discovered three life-changing products, and with you, being my friend, I needed to share them with you 🙂 And none of these are sponsored, it’s just my truth from the bottom of my heart, to yours.

First: my smile secret.

I shared about this last night on Facebook, and daaang! I couldn’t believe the response! I was so excited with how many of you want to try this too!

As an actor, I have to have white teeth. I mean, if you walk into an audition with anything less than a blinding grin, you’re wasting your time. It’s white teeth or nothing.

I’ve been whitening my teeth since I was 11. As soon as I got my braces off, I was slapping on the whitening strips. And as you can imagine, over the years, my teeth have become sooo sensitive.

But this summer, my sister-in-law introduced me to a toothpaste that has completely done away with my need for white strips or anything. The way it whitens is truly ridiculous. Just look at the before and after.

My whole family has fallen in love with this product, not only for how fast the results are, but also because it is sensitivity free! HALLELUJAH. We all lovingly refer to it as the “magic toothpaste.”

It’s been life changing for me. Honestly. I can eat smoothie bowls again without wincing in pain!!

And TWO days. That’s all it took to see results. Un-freaking-believable.

And there’s no bleach. No harsh chemicals. It’s safe for kiddos, removes wine/soda/coffee & nicotine stains. ((Wine, you guys! WINE!)) Prevents plaque from sticking to teeth. Great taste…and texture. Plus, it costs much less than whitening strips or laser whitening.

But the best part, in my opinion, is that you don’t get “red wine teeth!” I haven’t had red wine in years because it stains your teeth and you walk around for the rest of the night with a purple grin. Not with this! There’s a technology in this toothpaste works on the pores of your teeth, preventing those stains. So I can drink red wine with friends and not get the dreaded “red wine teeth!”

Secondly: my hair secret.

I’m going to be really honest — embarrassingly honest. Having an autoimmune disease (ulcerative colitis) means that I sometimes get random symptoms elsewhere. Like my scalp. I don’t know if it’s eczema or light psoriasis, but my scalp has always had large, plaque-like flakes. Not that they would end up on my shoulders, but you could see the flakes in my hair line. It was embarrassing.

But it all came to a head when I was at a photoshoot this spring, and the makeup artist was making a huge deal about how difficult it was for her to work with my hair because of my scalp. She was like, “This is your job. Get your scalp under control.” And if that sounds harsh and borderline aggressive…it was. I came home and cried.

But to her credit, she did get the point across — albeit in a meanie sort-of way. But I went to my hairdresser and he gave me a natural product that does what medicated shampoos, like “T-SAL” do, but without stripping your hair of moisture and being super damaging. It uses an ingredient found in dandelions.

It’s by Davines and it’s called Purifying Anti-Dandruff Shampoo.

But it works. Oh my gosh, After one use, my scalp was completely clear, and I could talk to boys at the bar without fearing that they were looking at my flakey hairline. Life Changing.

Lastly: my face secret.

This final “change my life” product is one that sounds a little bonkers. But I can no longer start or end my day without it.

It’s a jade face roller.

Which, yes…you read that correctly: a face roller.

It depuffs, contours, and drains your face by pushing all the retained fluid to your lymphs on the sides of your face, and then you roll it down your neck to drain it through your lymph system.

It is crazy this difference this makes. It honestly changes the shape of my face. I had been doing facial massage with my hands for a while, but this summer my other sister-in-law got me this jade roller for my birthday, and there’s something about the coolness of the stone that really takes it over the top. (I sometimes even put mine in the fridge!)

And, not that I care whatsoever — or even keep tabs on her — but it is a well known secret among the makeup artists in the industry, that Kim Kardashian will not walk a red carpet — or even be seen in public — without doing this first. That’s how drastically it changes the look of your face!

But it also reduces wrinkles, increases blood flow to your face, and my favorite aspect: makes your serums and products absorb better. I will even put on a sheet mask, and then face roll over the mask, and the product really absorbs.

So there you have it.

These are the three things this summer that have completely rocked my world to the degree that it has changed my life.

The face roller…ok maybe not life changing…but the toothpaste and the shampoo one hundred percent have.

  1. I love the whitening toothpaste so much. I drink massive amounts of coffee and have really noticed a huge difference in my smile over the last couple of months! I also have very sensitive teeth, but no pain with this product. Its awesome.

  4. I’m intrigued about the toothpaste. You have my email, so send your info on it please. Skin condition – my dad had eczema, so I know what you’re talking about, even if that isn’t exactly what you have. Tough love from the makeup lady. Reminds me of a similar incident in college. Dr. Ruth Bacon really let me have it…a lesson never forgotten. Turned into a philosophy of life. Maybe your makeup lady wasn’t being a warm fuzzy, but she was talking to you like a pro, so there’s that. And it (finally) made you take action.

    So if I use all of this stuff I’ll look as good as you?? Eh…prob’ly not.

  9. Oddly enough, I bought some generic head and shoulders type zinc shampoo for my son and I borrowed it to end up loving it and stealing it. It leaves my hair so squeaky clean. I don’t have dandruff but I’m totally hooked now! 🙂

    I accept a bit of staining because I love my wine and coffee but I use a water pick and it really helps to blast off the stains too…

  16. I have constant dry scalp. I’ve tried EVERYTHING. I’ve recently been prescribed a fungal shampoo by my doctor and HALLELUJAH – flakes gone! Then I went back to a normal shampoo (a highly sensitive one with no parabens or perfume) and guess what…flakes are back 🙁 I might give your recommendation a try. I’ve nothing to lose!
