Hello from 30,000 feet!
Guess where I’m going!
O H I O!!
But not for the move…that’s not for two weeks.
Right now, Steven, his mother and I are on the plane heading to Ohio for our Engagement Party!
My parents are throwing us a beautiful party at our house!
We’ve got a bunch of friends flying in from New York for the occasion, and Steven’s sister and niece are joining tomorrow, too!
I couldn’t be more excited. Apparently this is going to be quite the party! There are over 70 people that will be in attendance at my parent’s house! They’re having it catered, and it will be so fun! When my mom was in New York the other weekend, we both got dresses for the occasion!
ALSO this weekend in Ohio, the mothers of my two best friends — who are also my maids of honor — are throwing me an ornament shower! How sweet is that!?
So this weekend, we’re going to be showered with love! How blessed are we! Our hearts of filled with so much gratitude and appreciation.
I’ll tell you what, these next two weeks are going to fly by — and they’ve already been flying!
If you’ve ever sold a property before, you know that when your place is in “showing” mode, it has to look immaculate 100% of the time, because you could get a call at a moment’s notice that someone wants to come tour your place for a showing. At least that’s the case in NYC — you could get a call to vacate in 2 hours because someone wants to tour!
So that’s been how I’ve been existing for the last couple weeks. But it worked! Because my place is officially in contract with a buyer! So praise God for that!
BUT — when you’re place is in “showing mode,” that ALSO means that you can’t have moving boxes all over the place! The final inspection was yesterday, so NOW, as soon as Steven and I get back on Monday night from Ohio, THE PRESSURE IS ON!
I HAVE SIX DAYS TO PACK UP MY ENTIRE APARTMENT to be ready for our movers to come! OH MY GOSH! I’m already sweating just thinking about it.
Thankfully, Steven packed up his entire apartment this past week, and so when we get back, he’ll be able to help me pack up mine. What a guy.
And before you know it, Thanksgiving will be here, and by that time, we’ll officially be out of New York! — Or at least our stuff will be! We have our move in date a few days before December! (Which, is really just for Steven…as I will be living with my parents, 20 minutes away, until the wedding.)
We’ve ordered all of our furniture and it’ll be ready to be delivered on moving day! (Let me know if you want me to do a post on what we got! It is going to look gorgeous! OH my gosh I can’t wait.)
Honestly, these next few weeks are going to just be a blur. I’m handling the stress pretty well, all things considered. I’ve only had one breakdown, and it was yesterday when I was running, and I just sobbed the entire time — all 7 miles! Lol!
I’m trying to just enjoy every moment, in the moment. Do the next right thing. Try to stay sane. Try and get at least SOME sleep. And most of all, soak up all these last NY minutes!

OK – well, that’s about it from here! They just announced the “final descent!”
When we get off the plane, we’re meeting my parents downtown for lunch on the river, and then going to do some exploring in our new, soon-to-be neighborhood!
If you have any suggestions on PACKING UP my apartment, please let me know! I know I asked some tips about moving that were SO helpful! So if you all have any specific packing hacks, that would be greatly appreciated! (Like, Steven got Apple Tags to put in the boxes so we can track our stuff!)
