Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to pop in and wish you and yours a happy, joy-filled Thanksgiving.

This year marks an especially meaningful celebration of gratitude, not only for my mom’s continued recovery from her stroke 11 months ago, but also the lessons learned along the way.

This was the year I learned my fortitude. This was the year my courage was tested. This was the year I realized that time is precious, and not a guarantee. This was the year I learned to let God catch and sustain me.

And today, as we all look back in thanksgiving for all of our blessings, may we remember from Whom those blessings flow.

God is good and the gratitudes are overflowing.

I’m sending you an enormous bundle of love and prayers this Thanksgiving. I am truly thankful for each and every one of you in my life.

You’re a blessing to me.

Happy Thanksgiving 💛

  1. Amen, everything comes from Him. The Blessings flow so freely from Him, especially when we are thankful, and full of praise. We are thankful for you also, well, I guess I shouldn’t speak for every one. I am thankful for you, for always being truthful, honest, and giving God all the glory, He so rightly deserves. God Bless you always, my friend :):)

    1. Yes! All from Him. Gosh thank you
For such generous words. Means a lot 🙂 big big thanksgiving hugs to you xox

  2. I’m glad that you are home with family! I know how much that means to you. Julie and Hillary are in Toledo with her dad, who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, so I’m solo this weekend. Julie really wanted to concentrate on him, so I volunteered to let them have a “chick trip” to go tend to him.

A thanks and good wishes wait for you at Patreon!

    1. Thanks Jeff, oh gosh I’m sending up extra prayers for your father in law. I’m sorry that you’re solo for thanksgiving, but I’m glad your ladies are getting to see her Dad. Have a happy thanksgiving my friend. Xox

I’m also thankful that my church will be sending me to VoxCon in February – in Brooklyn! My first trip that borough!

      1. Thank you so much! I’m so glad too, girl!! You’ve given me strength I haven’t told you about… I was considering a path you’ve gone down before, the destructive one, and because I read your blog, I decided not to. You probably saved my life, girl 😘💟💟💟. Have a wonderful night/day, and many many hugs to you, too! 🤗🤗💗💗

      2. Oh my gosh, i am so glad that my words hit home in such a positive way for you. I am truly humbled. Sending you the biggest hugs in the world! 🙂 xox

      3. Aww! 😘. They did, girl, they did 👏👏. You are amazing! For all the interaction we get on our blogs, I’m sure there are so many others out there who are touched and awesomely impacted in ways we may never know 😘💖💖💖

      4. that is definitely my deepest prayer 🙂 hope you have a beautiful weekend 🙂 x

  9. Took my kids to Cheesecake Factory. My daughter, made a friend and mentioned she had holes in her shoes. So. We went shoe shopping for her friend. I like your shirt. I’m glad your mom came out okay.

    1. Aw that’s so fun Kenzie! And wow what a beautiful gesture that is. Thank you 🙂 Hugs and love xox

      1. I like to hang out with them. There’s something about family that’s just, good. I did notice, especially with my generation that dad’s aren’t stepping up. Specifically with their daughters. So. I try to include them more and their friends. There’s a lot of single parents in the ghetto. I think, we all tried to find love in our partners to overcome the lack of love from our parents. So. Just try to show rather than tell, you know. Dad loves you.

      2. Thanks for talking with me. I’m not your usual reader. Neither, do I have a creepy agenda. I’m happy for your successes. You’ll, make a great mom someday. Very. Patient. With just enough silly.

      3. Haha thank you friend 🙃 what a kind thing to say. Silly is always important 🙂

      4. I had this argument with someone in Atlanta. Friends. Are important and easier to come by. It’s an unconditional love like, parents. Somehow though, romantic love is conditional. When it should be unconditional, intimate, and a friendship.

      5. Cœur de Pirate, one of my favorites on friendships. Just her and a piano. Maybe you could fit her in between Drake and Fetty Wap. 😂

      6. There’s a lot to relationships. I wasn’t trying to simplify them with three principles and a song. I’m sure. You have made some good insights as well in New York. Maybe. I have walls a lot of people are fake.

      7. Yeah relationships are really interesting in cities. It’s almost as though everything is intensified.

      8. Maybe. It’s the faster motions but not the connections. I used to see the sorority girls with different guys every week. I mean. I was everybody’s ride home. It looked exciting but is it? To love once is, enough. I can’t imagine getting dumped three or four times a month. Maybe it’s fun. Like those reality dating shows.

  10. Beautiful post! I’m so happy to hear your mom is doing well, and that you’ve welcomed lessons learned through that trial. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

  11. Happy Thanksgiving Caralyn, to you, and your Mom and Dad. Give them an extra Canadian hug. Enjoy your weekend at home, with your folks, any family in the area, and friends.
Thank you, my dear friend, for the inspiration, and love you always share, focused on our Lord Jesus Christ, never backing away to lift yourself up. Keep yourself open to receive and learn all the Holy Spirit has for you, and you will be amazed at your future. The growing in Christ you are experiencing at this time, is all in preparation for the future that God has for you. In this relatively brief period of time that your blog has been read and loved, you have touched and blessed many people by being you, the “You” God created you to be. As far as you have come Caralyn, there is so much more ahead of you, in God’s planning. Keep seeking Him, and He will be leading you to complete His full purpose in your life, for His Glory.

    Matthew 6:33
“So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.

    Philippians 1:6
I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this glorious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you and will put his finishing touches to it until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!

    God’s Abundant Blessings Caralyn.
    Luv, 😀🌹❤️🇨🇦

    1. Amen! I was really blessed by this comment, I mean. . .I DO believe in my head, but sometimes I forget with my heart. . .and when I read that. . .It was sweet! Jesus does love us, He loves us so much, that He shed His blood so we could freely receive salvation by grace thru faith. So beautiful, so awesome! God bless Mam!

      1. Praise God! I know what you mean. It can be easy to forget. And to hear or read that can be just what we need! I am glad God spoke to you for you and Him 🙂 God bless you too.

  16. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too. Yes, I am definitely thankful when compared to where I have come over the years. I could not have told you when beginning college that I would be where I am now and encouraging others. Thanks for the reminder.👍🏾🙂

  17. Happy Thanksgiving to you also. I hope you know that while you learned many lessons of faith and trust this year, the schooling doesn’t ever stop in this life. There will be more. Just trust in the Lord and have joy!

  18. Thanks for taking the time to like my blog posts, its great to read how far you’ve come and how well you are doing. Keep on looking and being fantastic happy belated thanksgiving.

  19. Caralyn,

You truly are a blessing. What a beautiful heart, one that lives in celebration and gratitude for the inner magnificence that flows through all beings!

  20. It took me to read this to realize that I am now thankful for this year also. It was difficult, challenging, a roller coaster of ups and downs as I am trying my best to accept my depression and anxiety “as is” and work towards feeling better. But I see progress, and I see that despite the “downs” I am still here. I found out who the real friends are, who the “users” were. I flipped out and moved to a town I like better. Thank you for being part of this blog community I just recently joined, it is showing to be a great support in this battle.

    1. Thank you for sharing that. Yes-you are still here and that is definitely something to be thankful for. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and love xox

  21. Thanks so much for all the wishes and wish the same for you too.You are absolutely correct there is so much to thank for in life ; each moment and each day that we are able to live and enjoy.Gratitude should be all over.Bless you!!
If you get a chance ,read my book `THE PERENNIAL JOURNEY’.I am sure you will love it as I feel we share the same kind of thought process.

    love to you.

  22. One thing I forgot to mention-You are really beautiful ;both inside and outside.Lots of love to you.

To add more,I don’t know if it is great or not but my book `THE PERENNIAL JOURNEY’ is a sincere effort to talk about the glories of God and the realities of life which we all tend to forget. It is a motivational and an inspirational book.

    Thanks.
    Bless you.

  23. I’m sorry I’m a few days late, but I just wanted to say that I’m thankful for you and for everything you share on here! I always enjoy reading what you have to say. Oh, and thanks for reading some of my stuff, too! 🙂 Anyway Caralyn, I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving.

    1. Thanks friend! It was a wonderful thanksgiving. I hope yours was lovely too!! Thanks for your kind words! Hugs and love xox
