The Grammys Goes to Hell

I made the mistake of watching the Grammys last night.

Sam Smith's performance of Unholy at The Grammys was a Satanic orgy. And if you're not terrified for the young people this smut is being forced upon...then you'd better wake up. #grammys #samsmith #catholic #unholy #culture #christianity #santanic #faith #cbs #religion

I know, I know…my bad. I thought I had properly prepared myself for the pompous display of self-importance and smut…but the onslaught of the outright Satanic orgy we witness was something I was utterly unprepared for.

And I am still deeply unsettled and disgusted by the whole display.

I’m sure you’ve heard about it now, but singer, Sam Smith – who recently came out as genderqueer and nonbinary – and his singing partner, Kim Petras — who is a transgender female (aka, a man who transitioned into a woman) — performed their song “Unholy” at the Grammys, and I am not exaggerating or “clutching my pearls” when I say that it was a full blown Satanic ritual, complete with explicit BDSM imagery — a cage, whips, chains, outfits, etc.

There was fire. Occult symbols. Sam wore red paten leather leggings with a strapy red leather BDSM top, a devil horned hat, and a red cane — which he used to grind his genitals on. And he was surrounded by exorcism-looking faceless men with long hair a la The Ring, who were thrusting their pelvises against Sam while doing the Sign of the Cross while acting like they were having orgasms.

“Mummy don’t know daddy’s getting hot at the body shop doing something unholy.” Those are the lyrics, just in case you were curious.

It was deeply disturbing. Deeply. Disturbing.

I got really upset during the broadcast. And I was asked “Why watch if it bothers me so much.”

And that is precisely it.

It is important to be informed about what our kids are consuming.

I will say that again for the people in the back.

It is crucial for us to be informed about what our kids are consuming.

Even with parental controls on TV and strict rules about what your kids watch at home, once they’re at school — they’re with friends who watch this smut. They have access to the internet where they can watch it.

Heck, CBS put this garbage on Prime Time, during a show that families watch.

Society not only has no respect for a child’s innocence, but in fact, they are actively trying to indoctrinate them into thinking that sex, satan, promiscuity, gender fluidity and sexual deviance is encouraged and should be celebrated. And anyone who thinks otherwise is a bigot and homophobic.

It is absolutely terrifying to think that one day when Steven and I have kids, – God willing – that this is the world they are going to grow up in and have to navigate.

I watched last night, because there needs to be people out there who stand up and say, “This is WRONG.” We need the voice of Truth.

We need voice of opposition, saying: This is evil. This is demonic and we need to stop letting this filth be shoved down the throats of our impressionable children.

We already know that in our post-Christian society, a vast number of children are being raised without a foundation of faith. And therefore, their formation is being shaped by secular public school education and the garbage that’s on TV. It deeply saddens my heart to think of impressionable young minds who look at that and develop a curiosity about Satan and the occult; who look at that and try to emulate the raunchy dance moves or think that you have to dress racily to be accepted; who look at that and begin to contemplate the misleading concept of whether they were “born into the right gender.”

Not to mention the complete disrespect of religion and the gift of sexuality that God created between man and woman – husband and wife.

Why did I watch? Because I want to know what these kids are going to be talking about in the hallways at school. What the guys will be talking about in the locker rooms. What girls will think guys want. What will trickle down into high school relationships as “expectations” based on what is being pushed on our kids by these self-important, lost and wayward celebrities.

It is an influence. And if that doesn’t scare the living daylights out of you, then my friend: you had better wake up.

If everyone who is “offended” — for lack of a better word — just turned a blind eye to it so as to live in ignorance, then this smut would just go on, growing stronger and more pervasive, without any opposition or push back.

We need to be the push back.

We need to step forward and say, enough is enough. It’s time to take off your BDSM bondage get up, put on some real clothes, and quit glamorizing Satan and all his evil manifestations.

He is a liar — and is feeding us lies right down to the identity kids feel they don’t belong in.

Lord, have mercy.

  1. I think you were pretty much on point in what you wrote. The exception would be that I think you were too light about the extent of harm the messaging is causing across society. Amen to you for saying we must stand firm against the depravity that is wantonly unleashed on society. Brava that you were brave enough to set out your correct sentiments. It has not been easy raising my two daughters in this world. I have often heard things from them that I then had to take a step back and determine how to explain best that just because evil is prevalent does not make it right or something to emulate. Thank you again for a worthwhile read. I am trying to come up with a poem about this. So far, it has been to no avail. I can’t seem to find the words that flow with disgusting and vile in a nation led by ta man so senile.. it just goes too negative too quickly.

  2. Agree. I’m glad you can voice this out. Especially in the US. This is a decadence in morality. Luckily in my country, all of these craps are illegal and largely rejected in community. Let’s protect our kids’ future

  3. I saw clips of this performance and it wasn’t very good.. to put it lightly. I’m all for people being who ever they want to be but I’m so sick of kids being subjected to all of this.

  4. The Grammy Awards ceremony. Partly sponsored by PFIZER. Perhaps it says a little about the company and the enormous profits it has made from a vaccine that appears to have little or no effect – except cause sickness in otherwise healthy people. Long term effects are an unknown!

  5. Wow. I almost never post on blogs and don’t follow pop culture, but I just started following you because I didn’t know about the grammys.
I became aware of the satanic temples being built a year or so ago, then found people selling stuff to worship Satan on etsy. God is telling us to wake up. We do need to push back. Put your armor of God on, because the war is here.

  6. Settle down, now. Art can be beautiful, challenging or both. That last part takes work, not the strong suit of most Americans – especially when it requires independent thought. Once only a weakness amongst the poor, who had to choose between education and sustenance, it’s spread – in no small part by religion, whose strong suit is telling people what to think. So I can see where B3 and its followers would have a problem taking in art like this.
I know it’s not really my thing, so don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending it as a fan. But I understand the expression. The needed expression, because that’s what confronts bigotry and small mindedness, exposure to thought-provoking subject matter outside one’s normal experiences. And where better to have that experience than on a nationally televised program viewed with friends or family, where one should feel safest versus alone or in an anonymous setting?
Those who fear it call it grooming because it’s easier to slap a convenient label on something than to have to confront one’s own biases or privileges in order to have an open and honest conversation about things outside their comfort level or having to…never mind. I know I’m preaching to a deaf audience.
You stay there in your comfortable prison of human constructs like god, religion, heaven, hell and the devil…just keep it to yourself. The most successful grooming campaign of all time has got to be religion, followed at a distant but no less damaging GOP. Why don’t you point your values at them and police them before judging others on their hypocrisy based dogma?

    1. While I understand why people are angry at religion and politicians, whataboutism is a cop out. It’s weak. Look at why people are upset instead of dismissing it out of hand. This is evil. Just as the hypocrisy of false religious teachers, and religious hypocrisy is evil.

And while I agree with you that some aspects of religion are human constructs, (I was raised Catholic, so I understand. Trust me.), the God we know is not. I pray for you, man. Crack open a Bible for yourself and ask a genuine, caring Christian any questions you might have. Jesus loves you, as do we. Take care 🙂

      1. I was raised religious and educated in private Catholic schools, so I am a-okay for life on the bible cracking. When I tell Caralyn to police her own safe communities and leave others alone, I come by it honestly: the priest who sexually assaulted my classmates wasn’t prosecuted and sent to jail, he was retired from teaching and sent to work at the abbey…which is where he lived. This basically seemed to not only protect bad behavior but actually rewarded it. Fix that type of sh – stuff amongst yourselves and then you’ll have the credibility to…”judge” sure seems like the right word…but let’s say “impose your concerns” on others about how they live.

      2. First off, I am genuinely sorry about the awful experiences your classmate went through. The sexual abuse scandal within the Catholic Church is the biggest reason I no longer consider myself a Catholic. I am so sorry, man.

But while we should fix all that’s wrong with our religious institutions, even after we do so, that won’t work for two reasons: one, no one has the right to judge except God. And two, even if we were perfect and allowed to judge others, as you say, the world would still buck against it. Why? The human heart is inherently evil.

As much as it sucks to say this, all people are evil. We are all depraved in some way. Have you seen the kinds of nasty things humanity does to each other? There’s not a moral or good person on the face of the earth. Not a one. Not me. Not you. Not Caralyn. Not one.

We live in a world that mirrors Isaiah 5:20 right now. To a tee. And God will indeed be the final judge for all of us. Believer and unbeliever alike But for those of us who Jesus has called, He not only calls us to live a life that pleases Him and to trust in His sacrifice on the cross for our salvation, He also calls us to expose evil.

There are many verses and passages on this. Ephesians 5:11-12 is probably the best one that fits the situation we’re in with the Unholy performance at the Grammys.

But here’s where many, if not most followers of Jesus mess up: They call out evil. But they don’t do it from a place of love or concern for others. And I would sooner side with you against someone who acts like that. Those who truly follow Jesus don’t call out evil because we want to be seen as “better” than others. We call out evil because we genuinely love other people and don’t want them to go to hell. So many fail to strike a firm but genuinely caring balance though. I’m working on that myself.

As for fixing the Catholic Church, how would you go about instituting change there from the position of an average person? I’m not putting you on the spot I swear. I’m honestly just asking for your take. Their hypocrisy makes me furious too, so I can only imagine how angry you are, since it’s affected you personally. Again, my sympathy and support to you and your classmate.

      3. My take on fixing the Catholic Church is the same as my fix for any organization that treats people the way it does: I fix it with my absence. I won’t give a group or an individual even the tacit approval approval my presence could be misinterpreted as. The church? Hypocrisy, buh-bye. The GOP? It was one thing in the 80s before the “aisle” became a chasm and they completely abandoned any sense of a veil for their true selves. Now, if you’re a Republican, I demand an explanation…and it will not be satisfactory. Both institutions are playing a numbers game with their members, to the members’ detriment, to remain the abusively powerful entities they empower themselves to be. And I simply don’t accept it, nor do I indulge anyone’s arguments on their behalf.
I learned some great values from my education. But life has taught me about tolerance, too. I’ll tolerate a lot from individuals, but am not as generous with organizations. As I mentioned earlier, they’d prefer to do your thinking for you, that’s what works best for their agenda. People who have clear, independent thoughts are interesting to talk to and I value the exchange of ideas, experiences and values. People whose dominant personality trait is their religion seem more invested in telling me what their religion thinks of my actions. To that, my response is always, “Fuck you”. It’s not your nor anyone else’s role to save others on your religion’s behalf. That’s a misdirected savior complex at best and flat out recruitment and indoctrination at worst.

  9. The fact is mainstream media is losing its power, and the only way to get people talking about or sharing grammy, golden globes etc is shock value. The west has lost its way, and when one power goes down another one will rise. Sanity must be restored.
