A Missing Outcry

I heard a gut wrenching statistic the other day.

One that, I had to bring up on the blog, even though the thought of broaching this topic amid the current climate of Black Lives Matter, and race relations, scares me half to death.

But I have never let fear stop me from posting before. Particularly because the more nervous I am to push “publish,” the more important the topic actually is.

So anyway, enough beating around the bush:

It is more likely for a black baby to be aborted than it is to be born in New York City.

I’m going to say that again:

According to the Charlotte Loizer Institute, in NYC, it is more likely for a black baby to be aborted, than born alive.

Please let that sink in.

Of the nearly 48,000 reported pregnancies for black women in New York City in 2016, 49 percent ended in abortion, as compared with 47% that ended in live birth, with 4% miscarriages.

I’m not going to sit here and bash you over the head with stats and statistics, or bible verses, or other propaganda — which, believe me, I have an arsenal at the ready.

But rather I just want to invite you to think about this:

Think about the nation, completely tearing apart at the seams, over the unjust and reprehensible murder of George Floyd and the other unarmed black men and women, at the hands of the police. Last year, that number was: nine men, and one woman — unarmed, and fatally shot by police. Ten horrific, and tragic losses of life that should have never ever happened. Each one, an unspeakable injustice.

Now, please juxtapose that with — during that same time period — the true genocide, of nearly 24,000 black babies in NYC alone. Not to mention the 56 million aborted children, worldwide, per year.

Twenty Four Thousand babies. The true black genocide. — Where is the outcry?

Where is the anger and outrage?

Why are we not tearing down statues and calling out Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger — who herself was an outspoken racist, and eugenist. Yes – eugenics, as in: “the practice or advocacy of controlled selective breeding of human populations (as by sterilization) to improve the population’s genetic composition.” (Merriam Webster.)

Sanger was seeking to “assist the race in the elimination of the unfit” — her words in her “Birth Control and Racial Betterment” address of 1919. Sanger’s racism was unabashed: speaking at Klan meetings in 1926, calling for the sterilization of black people through her organization’s targeted outreach to black communities.

Yes. Planned Parenthood — the bright star of feminists, and pink ribbon supporters everywhere — has a disturbingly dark, deeply racist origin.

Consider where your local Planned Parenthood resides? Low income neighborhoods? Near public transportation?

Consider where, how, and to whom they advertise.

And then consider the numbers. Consider, those 24,000 precious, little black babies, killed last year in NYC, alone. Do their lives matter?

Photo: KingCenter

In 1984, Jesse Jackson called abortion, black genocide, comparing a mother’s control over her child’s death through abortion, to that of slavery.

We cannot fight for justice for black lives, without including the most vulnerable, and most executed population: the children in the womb.

It is an uncomfortable conversation. But it is a gross atrocity that we are allowing to take place, here in “woke” 2020.

Wake up, America. If we’re truly fighting for justice for our black brothers and sisters, we cannot ignore the biggest injustice of all.

Because every. single. life. matters. Every single one.

Regardless of race, sex, background, religion, sexual orientation, nationality — or life stage — we are all made by God. And therefore are all inherently valuable and worthy of justice and life.

Yes, Black Lives Matter — all of them.

“This is what the Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.” Ez 37:5

  2. The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell (2000) is a fascinating book about interpreting numbers and finding relationships between different social forces and/or events. Not a great summary, but…

He has several books out, but I’m pretty sure it’s this one – his first – that discusses abortion and how it disproportionately affects African Americans. I can’t recall if he makes the connection as to how it happens that way. However, DNA: Pirates of the Sacred Spiral by Leonard Horowitz does. There is historical evidence of how DNA research gave rise to ideas like Hitler’s master race (he based it on American DNA research). Since DNA research first began the idea of eliminating inferior races and even inferior individuals, like the retarded or deformed, has brought on some truly horrific actions.

While such practices were once overtly preached, public outcry drove it all underground. Abortion is one tool deliberately aimed at African Americans. It is the issue owned by Democrats…the party of the KKK.

I know this sound all “conspiracy theory” but I’ve read enough to know it is factual. You’ve made a very good point tonight!

  3. People seem to pick and choose where they place the value of life. But God is the creator of ALL life and finds worth in every single person. Even those yet to be born. The world looks at things through natural eyes. It takes a close connection to the Lord to see things through His eyes.

  5. I have also had to remind myself that when it is hardest to hit publish then it is the publish most needed. It is a brave thing to speak truth in a day that gets you so much backlash for it. I often remind myself how Jesus received the utmost backlash of all. I also have to remind myself that I am not Jesus so I must rely on Him even more when I feel the enemy coming for battle against truth that flowed from God through my typing fingers. I admire your willingness to allow God to flow through you. Overlooking the negative backlash and leaning on the positive notes is more difficult than I have ever imagined. I pray for God’s strength and endurance over you as well.

  6. Did you see the recent documentary on Roe versus Wade (AKA Jane Roe)? That shining legal example of “Women’s Rights?” The short version of the documentary: the anonymous woman “Roe” – never had an abortion in the first place! Whatever you think of Norma McCorvey (“Roe”), because she was a controversial figure for both sides, the truth is that Planned Parenthood is evil. I know there’s another movie – “Unplanned”.

It’s not just aborting black babies. Sanger in the 1920s was part of a group that promoted “eugenics” where in a 1922 US Supreme Court case, they stated aborting “special needs” (Down Syndrome) children was good public policy. That is wrong. Some of the most precious people in the world have Down Syndrome and the world is a lesser place without them.

    1. I haven’t seen that documentary, but I’ll absolutely be looking it up tonight! Oh wow – how powerful! and yes – i have seen the movie Unplanned – what an absolutely terrific and powerful movie. Yes – that is also the goal of eugenics – it is just downright wrong. Hugs and love xox

  8. I agree that every life matters, and I am against abortion. But, to equate a personal decision to systemic abuse is like comparing apples and oranges. And women of all races have abortions, not just black women, and I would believe for similar reasons. I am not saying you are wrong, but it seems to imply that blacks actually have nothing to protest, and that this is a bigger issue than centuries of discrimination and pain. I might have misunderstood the reason for the post. If so, please accept my apologies. You are a compassionate person.

I just want to make sure it’s clear that I am in no way diminishing what people are protesting, or implying that only black women have abortions. 9. As always Caralyn you say what needs to be said. It is a sad world in which we live when value of life is decided by politics. I mourn over those millions of lost lives and pray for their mothers and those considering abortion. How I am reminded of what Jesus said “Jerusalem, Jerusalem … How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!” Insert any city – continent or country. How much work we have to do as Christians to share what our Savior teaches, for that is the only power to change anything! Your insight is amazing and always fair. Thanks. 10. Caralyn, thank you for bringing up a much needed conversation. The agenda to abort and kill those that some consider unworthy to live because of their skin color or ethnic background has been well funded. The value of life is not there. You nailed it when you also mentioned PTSD from the mothers that abort. Planned Parenthood targets the groups they believe do not have the right to live. It is truly appalling. Thank you for discussing it. Love and hugs!! xoxo

  11. Catholicism and the sanctity of human life, probably one of the key stone bedrocks of your religion. I definitely cannot quote Catholic verse and teachings to you as I am not a Catholic, but I am a human being so I have a right to express an opinion on that level.
As an unborn baby my mum was told she would lose me unless she remained in bed for about 6 months in hospital prior to my birth and so that is what she did and here I am today. She lives in a country where she can be nurtured and cared for by a health service for 6 months without fear of starving to death from not feeding herself or other members of her family. My none domesticated Dad nearly lost the plot at that time looking after my older brother but we all muddled through.

There begins my perspective. If you provide a life opportunity to people to have a life then they will very much likely take up that choice and to me it is a choice. If you define the termination of an unborn child as genocide (which is your choice of words not mine). As the ‘owners’ of their own bodies I believe woman have the choice to terminate the life that grows within them. If you take that right away from women and make it a law that enforces the birthing of all children then you are in effect saying that the state has power over the individuals’ body rather than the individual holding the power themselves.

It still a very difficult issue to deal with and just as on one side of the issue you can argue it is wrong to have an individual make a choice on who comes into this world on the other side of the issue I would say it is wrong that the state decides a child must come into this world. Sanctity of a woman’s body must not lie solely with the state deciding who lives and dies, the state can give guidance on what is ethically, medically and legally defined to be correct. But with the woman whose body we referring to she has to a larger extent rights granted to her within the confines of that ethical, moral and legal construct that the state provides.

It is not easy but my point is someone must be accountable for the medical, ethical and moral decision and if you don’t allow a woman to be accountable for her decision on her body then you are instead claiming that either your God enforced by the state has the right to the birthing of individuals into this world and the human right to define how or when a life comes into this world is null and void and although I see the logic in your perspective I do strongly disagree.

  12. Unfortunately there’s a lot of players out there and it’s not trying to play the race game here but I do notice a lot of men who just so happen to be black dont really have the mindset of family or have the capacity to raise a child. Again not trying to single out a race because others may do the same but.. this tends to fall onto the women who doesn’t have a job or does have a job but can’t afford to have a kid.

Now that may sound like an excuse and it potentially is which is why relationships in general need communication. If you dont want kids dont do the act of making one. Raising kids, one of the most important things about life is determining what you want out of it and what your capabilities are.

I’ve always spoke out how I didnt want kids and besides the fact of not having it easy to get into a relationship with someone I like but that’s beside the point. I know I can’t afford to have a child so because of that I’m not really concerned about relationships or really have to deal with any of that. I dont have any flings with anyone either so that also helps.

Bottom line is there isnt a great deal of communication let alone teaching people how to handle these situations so it doesn’t come to the point where a woman is single, with no help but got pregnant due to a fling with a guy who had no interest or concern about starting a family. Again, not really an excuse for having an abortion but that in itself is an issue when women feel like that’s the best option, if that makes sense.

  14. Well said. It takes courage to speak up and clearly it was pushed onto your heart by God ❤️ … in Australia about 60-80,000 babies are lost to abortion – there’s no solid statistics as it’s difficult to collect that kind of data. My son could have become one of those statistics because to he was unplanned but he was apart of God’s plan – although at the time I wasn’t Christian- but am now and can see it was apart of His plan… and it makes me see, Jesus was knocking on my heart then and even now with those statistics- he was knocking on the hearts of those women too – He had a plan for them even if their plan wasn’t to have a child this way. Mark 9:37 NIV Jesus says, “whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” These lives are not only being aborted but they are rejecting Jesus and the one who sent Him and that maybe because these women don’t know him. 💔 and it’s not just lives that are being lost but potential purpose, dreams and everything else are lost too – God’s vision and purpose for that life is lost too. These lives matter too and perhaps the question we should consider asking is – how can we better support women to turn uncertainty into certainty and say yes to this new life they have been given and made for?? ❤️

      1. Caralyn… I thought by now you knew how my mind sorts works! And I do have a memory like an Elephant thank God! I just lack in other qualities that tend to trip me up in life a few too many times now and again! No; having cold ones isn’t the issue with me! BTW, I just looked up to see the next comment to respond to and it was who else? Yes, you, so that was a nice surprise because you were laughing in it and not upset with me as I have been known to irritate people; go figure! Mainly I’m happy you responded and are OK, maybe not great atm, but, we can live with OK for now, right? I said this in one of your blogs before, Saint Mother Teresa said, “one day at a time!” I’m not mad at you so I hope you won’t be with me when I say things off the cuff. And, also; very nice photos from the family, your Dad and Mom are such a lovely wonderful couple, and wow, what a tremendous blessing for you to have them and I know you know this, but, I just wanted to say it lol! Also, I love the one of you and Daddy with his little girl dancing like that! OH, catch this, look what I just typed as part of the comment just before I saw your notification here! “Husband goes out earning a living in a very extremely difficult gauntlet of major stress and built-in difficulty that can’t be escaped, which he has to face head on, “no short cuts!” And, look at the quote photo you have here! Also I wasn’t kidding about that dream I had right after I typed you a message one early morning recently when I woke up unexpectedly at 3 am, then after going right back to sleep I dreamed as plain as day that I was talking to you maybe in what was apparently NYC and I gave you one of those good bear hugs, which to me was symbolic of a spiritual hug occurring, because I want you to be alright, and I think God let it happen long distance like that to show us that we can send a hug that way and it works, at least on my end it did, LOL! Maybe you didn’t even know it, but, I sure did, and, it was great and a good thing ; so I was hoping you got some message of it coming!
Keep up the way you are and you are fine you know that, and be careful always vigilant; I had to find out the very hard way this week when I wasn’t; how it cost the life of my little Dove friend I had cared for since April, heartbreaking but I had a glitch in the program and I still have to see more as to why God allowed it, but, I only care about the hurt and maybe suffering of the Dove that I should have prevented, I’m ashamed and I should have done better. Sometimes I’m not only a klutz but even an idiot. I told you I’m such a Klutz once before to which you said, “Aren’t we all.” But, never did I say an idiot, so this is an all-time new thing right? Well, hopefully you got a laugh upon my exit now like you did when you read the “Cold One” comment. Maybe I do need a Cold One! I’ll put that off for sure, not much of a drinker here! Hey, I know, I’ll go have some of my Sparkling Apple Cider! Whoopee!!!
So, Chill now, is all we both should be doing; I figure about now!

  15. If you are against abortion, then the race shouldn’t matter. Period. The numbers for Caucasians and other races are up there as well – young adults, women getting rid of babies to hide outside affairs, older women, etc. Using a movement such as Black Lives Matter to come up with a post this week for your blog to magnify the number of African American women abortions is not right. You said you are a Christian, then I’m trying to find out where the love is in this post. All I see is glorifying African American numbers to cause more dislike towards African American people. If you are against abortion, then it shouldn’t matter what the race is – stand against it all. What happened to George Floyd has NOTHING to do with this subject. And bringing him up to justify the mean for this post is unfortunate. I noticed you said you have bible verses ready for someone if they want to go there with you, but might I remind you of this one: Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;…
Please do not pretend you have never sinned. We need more love in this country right now. I will not be surprised if this post is deleted, but I wanted to shine some light on this matter.

    1. Hi friend, I’d like to apologize that this post offended you. I have in no way, shape or form, implied that I have never sinned. The whole point of my blog is to share my brokenness. So please hear me that I am not suggesting that. Also, I’m sorry that you feel I was glorifying African American abortion numbers, and using George Floyd’s death. I have stated in this post, and my three previous posts, how tragic and utterly wrong his murder was. All that to say, my heart was coming from a place of love for all of my brothers and sisters – regardless of life stage, race, background, etc. In the spirit of seeking justice for Black Lives, I felt it important to include all Black Lives. That was a action I took out of love. Not out of dislike — and I can assure you — I was not trying to cause dislike towards my African American brothers and sisters – I love them dearly, as we are all one family, on the same team. Believe me, I will be the first to admit that I come short of the glory of God every. single. day, but disrespecting people based on the color of their skin is not one. Again, I am deeply sorry that I offended you, and I appreciate you bringing your feelings and this perspective to my attention. Sending you so much love and hugs xox

  18. Why do non blacks always divert from what’s actually going on. So you’re saying they’re killing black babies in New York so why are “you people” so upset?!??!!! The police kill far less of your population! Relax 😖🥴🥴 REALLY!!???? I’m praying for you may God bless you.

    1. Hi Jenni, thank you for your passionate response. I apologize if this offended you. I am upset, because of the value I see in each and every human life, including those in the womb. Those babies do not have a voice to speak out on the horrific injustice that is killing literally 56 million children annually, so I am speaking up on their behalf. God bless you too, my friend. 19. Hi Caralyn! You know what I have a problem with regarding all of this is how such insane attention was focused on Floyd’s apparent worldwide witnessed murder then how the MSM hammered it and concocted it into this perfect storm of propaganda to divide the races and attempt to sow seeds of discontent throughout in a general election year that all the MSM and elite want BIDEN to win evil as they all are, using this as a such a tool, telling us all how unjust this death was and how Blacks in general are treated as inferior than the rest of us; and that just isn’t true! Where the hell is all the media and the elites or Hollywood or Liberal wealthy Jet Set when all the babies any skin color are being butchered full term in New York State now or when Mike Bloomberg told his employee when she approached him with the fact she was pregnant and would need maternity leave and he just said KILL IT! What the frig is that why aren’t all the same people screaming bloody murder out on the streets burning building down over the innocent babies being butchered or what about the Black murders every day by other Blacks? Or why isn’t the media making a 3 ring circus out of what Bloomberg said, why not; because he’s a rich powerful dirty rotten low life, but the MSM is bought off and won’t touch him. There are more violent crimes being committed by Blacks on Blacks than white doing the trigger pulling! No outrange or MSM playing that tune all month long 24/7! You know what I hate is hypocrisy and this country is loaded to the friggin gills with it and it comes in all shapes, sizes and colors; so I don’t by any of this crap. Floyd they are now finding did resist the police in a squad car and was extremely unruly which is a problem with many Blacks who cop an attitude and say don’t mess with me and they egg it on or encourage the poor treatment sometimes; even watching the highly publicized cases we see them run or try to fight the police and they make themselves look like out of control maniacs so if I was a cop I would be leery of some drug crazed out of his skull Black suspect that will most likely start coping the race card or how bad they are treating him when it’s no different than any other suspect or person being questioned by the police. Compliance with law enforcement is a cardinal rule for anyone that has their wits or half a brain. They are the law enforcers so if you get pulled over and asked to step out and get frisked it could be that someone was seen fleeing from a crime fitting your general description or they have no description but you happen to be close to the scene of the crime. I got pulled over in my lifetime and all I did was say yes sir and no sir and if they wanted me to show them ID or asked me to open my car trunk I did it; I didn’t start screaming I got rights you pigs! Adversarial that is what nobody should want to be with cops, just comply and be polite and things should always not escalate that way, and you can be on your way or if you did wrong them you go to the clinker for the night and get bailed out; that isn’t so damn complicated is it? We have way too many people in this country with lack of respect of authority like spoiled rotten punk attitudinal idiots, and even to the old lady down the street, this is like people have no clue what normal civility is anymore in some places. Al Sharpton the race baiting floor flushing bum was all over this case making sure it’s us against them the Whites the racists again as he did his whole stinking career making loads of cash for himself which to me makes him a low life parasite and his skin color has nothing to do with my opinion of him; just facts and he could be white green or purple that wouldn’t matter to me ONE IOTA to me! I hate deception and fakery from any persons! That all came from Satan himself with the fall from grace, so I’ve had enough about poor Floyd, this is all bogus bullshit now! Sorry, I’m saying this here but you and others have gotten my goat big time, because nobody wants to be real and face the facts or the truth that this has been made into a firestorm for POLITICAL PURPOSES when it was another death and all the madness that followed and still is was not warranted or justified in the least; so what about all of that, are we going to face those animals that did all this destruction around the country the BLM and ANTIFA maggots or how about the murders, rapes etc. in Chicago over the last week, will they all be taken into custody and put them in cages and beat the dead horse 24/7 till everyone knows everything there is to know about all those perps? Not if the Chicago mayor gets her way the whacky left liberal! This country and world is so perverted and sick people are not even worth talking to anymore, because there is just way too much disconnect and propaganda flying around; that it’s all become one big GAME!
Just like the Collusion Delusion Witch Hunt was by the evil corrupted Dem party treasonous liars and are any of them being raked over the coals 24/7 now that we know it was ALL LIES and FAKE to have a soft Coup d’ etat of our current president! There is no JUSTICE anymore and so we should cry a thousand tears for FLOYD! This is a nuthouse joke, and so hypocritical and evil! Everyone is going to have hell to pay for all of this DECEPTION and EVIL!
There are so many phony two-faced people in this country now, in high and low places that I puke in my head on loop when I picture this lunacy and wickedness!
Look at the Pope he is a heretic and supporting a predator! Lies abound and rule! Pelosi and Schiff are prime examples how crime pays and the dirty get away with murder! So of course this immorality trickles down into the gutter and punks cop even a badass attitude saying if they can get away with all they do those criminals in Washington; I ain’t doing anything this cop pig tells me!

  20. May God bless and honor you for speaking such important truth. May you not be discouraged or hindered by those who don’t agree and by their unjust responses. Keep speaking truth, Caralyn! There is a war being fought for the very soul of our country, and the taking of unborn life is a huge part of the evil side of the battle. I’m sharing this on my FB page. Stay strong!

  21. I don’t see a repost button, but I would love to post this on my page. You have captured my thoughts this week and rather than write something, I’d much rather share what you have already written. As a black woman who has a lot of feminist friends, I cannot count the arguments we have gotten into over this. I lost a mentor over this issue. Smart, intelligent, successful, educated women, who refuse to acknowledge the very truths you shared in this post. I can show them the truth and they still believe the lies! It is heartbreaking! I am hoping this current movement will wake them up. There are a lot of people in the black community now who are sharing this truth and speaking out about it and how it has been the biggest tool in the white supremacist tool box. Thank you for this post and please add a repost button. In the meantime, I’m posting link from my page to this blog post.

  23. Very well said. It’s just sad when the media lifts up certain cases just to get ratings, but doesn’t pull up all the different injustices including this. They do it because most or a big part of their base are for abortions and will say it’s their reproductive right to kill the child. It’s a much a right to kill a child, than it is to kill their coworkers because they might get in their way of a promotion at work. The depravity of the human race is truly showing in the United States.

  24. it is a shame you have to have fear to speak truth, not only are you correct (and I come at the issue from a completely different angle actually, more scientific not that it matters) but one of the businesses deemed “essential” during the lockdown was abortion clinics, knee surgery for someone in pain ? nah. Corrective surgery for a host of painful ailments? Nah. Killing babies.. sure, can I get fries with that? It is truly disturbing. It is like you can’t say “yes, the george floyd killing is abhorrent” … “and so is this, let’s fix both”… no. It is either agree with the mob 100% or you’re a racist or whatever, I guess we just have to wear the truth and hope the light of that brings us through in all matters. Stay the good road, people are pulling for you, and we can all pull for each other for what we KNOW is right.

      1. You too. Please do not get lost in the abyss of ugliness outside and focus on how God is polishing you and the rest of His bride inside. When we focus on Him, He gives us the proper perspective for that is the proper perspective. Easy to get distracted. This world is temporary, we are just passing through. Love you as always. Chin up, beautiful friend. 😄❤
